My son has been going here for close to a month now. It's been rough for him being that he's never…read morebeen to daycare before but it's getting easier. I like the camera feature but it can also make it very hard for the parent especially when you see your child not getting the attention he's seeking from the teachers. We like the morning teachers better than the afternoon ones. Daily reports are nice but could be better and more extensive. They tell you how much the child ate, how long they napped and diapers. This is all important but a snap shot of how your child's day was would be nice. The place is pricy and we expected more for how much it costs. We will give it a few more months and decide whether to stay or go.

My son would come home with art projects that were very well planned. The level of planning in the art projects is professional quality. These were not "cookie" cutter art projects. Also, Mrs. Cecilia would teach the kids Spanish every morning...and she taught my son how to dance professional salsa for the end of year party!! They also have a high quality science program with lots of materials. It is a structured school that uses some Montessori methods. They have both an indoor and outdoor play area, which helps for those long winter days ..and sprinklers in the summer. Their tuition is very reasonable for such a high quality program. However they gave me the option to pay a little extra for instrument lessons & soccer camp to come to the school. The breakup of class sizes is 4 kids to 1 teacher so all the kids get tons of individual attention. You have the option to buy a healthy lunch. I can't recommend them enough!!! My son is older now and he still talks about what he learned at Rising Stars Academy!

They regrettably do not have any faults as they are very nice, friendly, kind and loyal to the children. If you send your kids here just know that the workers will treat the children as their own but in private, each one of the workers are exploited. Every month they add in a person to fill in, promise to compensate them and then subsequently after the workers of depart and go their way, the intermediary time spent of that worker the general manager will give excuses and state some flaws that worker had during the week only to then not compensate you for the time worked. Management solely base their decisions by personal opinion only and not by whats in real life or how any tasks at hand are completed. Just to state one of the issues happening, a woman was told to have some time off due to a medical problem and they added a new staff member during that week. Subsequently after the person on medical leave found out this happened and as any individual would, they went out of their way to see if he/she was losing her job to the new staff member. The manager stated no and never told the intermediary person that they were even an intermediary. They still wanted to keep the intermediary person working (surely enough without compensation, with hopes to land a career taking care of these beautiful children) yet without compensation. For the people whom get an opportunity to work here, make sure you record each conversation had with management before you render your services to them. Have everything documented stating that you will get paid and most importantly know your laws/statutes when it comes to medical leave/absences and having a secure job when you return.

They hire and get rid of employers as they pleasure and they take advantage of you especially if your English is not fluent and you cannot express your thoughts and feelings. They don't appreciate your the hard work from their employers.

We wanted a space where our child could grow, explore and develop their own sense of curiosity and TMH exceeded all of that. With the evolution of technology assisting in all aspects of our lives now; a learning experience that is grounded on building blocks and a hands on approach was fundamental when we were looking for early education. Not all children learn the same and the teachers do a great job at tailoring their approach to each and focus on their curiosities. Every part of the curriculum is so thoughtful and intentional. Some of the smallest activities are teaching them a skill that eventually becomes something bigger. It's amazing to witness and the parents get a chance to see this first hand during parent visit days. "I didn't know my child could do that" is a common sentiment I hear amongst the parent group. Beyond the curriculum - Our child will be completing the kindergarten program after having spent 3 years in the school and she couldn't be more excited. Her early days were supported by the older friends in the class and now she gets a chance to do the same. They are now some of her closest friends and the parents too! The level of confidence and independence they have developed along the way has been nothing short of amazing. Having witnessed many of the friends in the class grow into their own personalities throughout the years have been fun to see. It's no surprise that families often enroll their siblings to TMH even after the older ones have graduated!

No pool lounge chairs or towel service so bring your own chairs, picnic blankets, food/snacks and other accoutrements to enjoy a leisurely summer day. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Very kids/toddler-friendly. The sizeable shallow end has several sprinklers/splash fountains for children to play in, and there are slides on both the kiddie and adult sides. Also a playground in the back (not affiliated with the pool). There are always many life guards on duty every time I've gone. The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

It's no exaggeration that these monsters from the deep probably kept a legion of child psychiatrists in full time employment. On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.
