We had to figure out some locational issues because our hotel Alila Marea Beach Resort would not allow us to detail on premises. Michael recommended us to use the location that his friend owned across the street which was perfect. Michael's communication was legit, the guy would text me 10-15 minutes before he left, 15 mins before he arrived and also 10 mins before he was done with the car. I also had to go back over the wheels and other areas that were either missed or not cleaned thoroughly. For the price paid, I expected much better attention to detail. A professional detailing service shouldn't require the customer to finish the job at home. It seems like too many vehicles are being scheduled without allowing enough time to complete each one properly. I would recommend adjusting appointment times or pricing so each vehicle receives the level of care customers are paying for. Where things started to slip was on the pickup side. I was told the car was ready, but still ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes before actually getting it. At checkout, I was also surprised to see a tip screen with suggested amounts that felt pretty high given the service. I ended up leaving a small tip, but the experience itself didn't really match that level of expectation. I also would have appreciated a quick walkthrough of the work that was done--especially at that price point--but it was more of a quick handoff of the keys. I came back for the 10-day follow-up and made a point to ask about timing ahead of time. I was told it would take about an hour. I arrived early, but after an hour the car hadn't been touched yet, and there wasn't any update unless I asked. That part was frustrating. So, they ended up rushing my 10-day follow-up inspection. Gave the car a quick rinse and handed me the keys. What was the point of driving down from Carlsbad??? Over 3 hours wasted. For comparison, I had a great experience at their Kearny Mesa location previously, so I know what they're capable of. This location is stretched thin, which seemed to impact communication and overall service. I was not the only customer in the lobby feeling this way. Given the type of clientele they're working with and the pricing, I was expecting a bit more consistency and attention to detail. Their follow-up consisted of more sales pitches of coupons for services I already had done. Would have been nice to have the discounts PRIOR to the work! I planned on using the wash program and mentioned to Jasmine my poor service experience. Think there was follow-up? Nada. So, thumbs "kind of" up for Ceramic Pro but thumbs down for this location. I asked Xavi to correct & ceramic coat the paint, restore the headlights, and fix a parking lot scrape on the bumper. His prices for his meticulously detailed work are extremely fair and honestly, a great value. He is very easy to work with and extremely communicative. I was blown away by the results of his work. Today was the last straw. Came in for the $49.99 bucket wash, got quoted $59.99 -- turns out they tried charging my sedan at SUV pricing. When I called it out, instead of correcting it, the guy pivoted to pitching a wax coating add-on. Then came the mat upsell -- pushed hard on paying extra to "wash" my mats, when vacuuming already comes standard and is all silicone mats actually need. I shouldn't have to fight for a fair price every single time I come in. Between the constant upcharges and deflection tactics, it's clear this is standard practice here, not a one-off mistake. Loyal customer no more.
