I went and got my vehicle washed here today and they completely ruined my vehicle. I have a wrapped car and they did not properly wash it and scratched the entire wrap. The hood and back of the vehicle. Prior to washing it I told them to be careful of the wrap and they scrubbed the bird poop into the wrap and ruined it and without washing the gloves also put a 20 inch scratch on the side. When it was done I asked the guy and he acted like it was there. Obviously it was not. I would notice the entire hood being ruined. Pretty bummed as it was a $7500 wrap On the vehicle. read more

I called over 8 auto detail businesses in the San Diego area. I received quotes of $150-$600 while asking the same questions and requesting the same services. (The more expensive ones only differed in that those who picked up the phone had a native American English accent instead of speaking in a thick Spanish-laden English accent.) LPD Auto Detail provided one of the most reasonable costs. Latino family owns it. == CLEANING SERVICE ITSELF == I REALLY wanted to like LPD. I got a really great vibe from them, they seemed sincere and felt like a family-owned business with many folks just there to work and enjoy being around each other and provide a local business to the community, but their cleaning services were not detail-oriented and made me question if they did anything more than a cursory vacuum. I reviewed with them in detail before arriving to the appointment about what I wanted cleaned and covered in the price we agreed upon. Some aspects of it were not cleaned adequately. I needed a car bought from auction cleaned (just the interior). I pointed out oily hand prints above the driver's seat and above the door (interior). They missed these; when I pointed them out, they did address them, but the handprints remained. I pointed out that I'd like the rear seats to be vacuumed and steam cleaned very well to remove the pet hairs that remained from the previous car owner, but there were still some noticeable pet hairs. They also did not clean the crust above the automatic shifter (as in, they did not press the brake and shift from P to the bottom transmission gear in order to clean the shifter area above the P that is usually hidden under shifter box). == INTEGRITY == The bulk of the stars for this review goes to integrity. The first time I called, one of the family members picked up and gave me one quote, and the second time I called to second, I was informed of a very slightly higher quote. This was the first time in over a year I've had my Tesla washed by someone else and was struggling to find a car wash that was convenient and seemed like it would take its time and do things carefully. Most places are like mechanized car wash factories -- the goal is to blow through thousands of cars as quickly possible. LPD was quick, but not too quick :) Like an idiot I got the car washed the same day a storm came into town, so I only got to enjoy the clean for a few hours before the rain hit, but after the storm cleared I went back and they gave me a quick complimentary external cleaning which I really appreciate. Being an obsessive Tesla owner I also appreciated the fact they were familiar with the car -- the Carlsbad supercharger is just up the street so they're seen a few!
