Today was the last straw. Came in for the $49.99 bucket wash, got quoted $59.99 -- turns out they tried charging my sedan at SUV pricing. When I called it out, instead of correcting it, the guy pivoted to pitching a wax coating add-on. Then came the mat upsell -- pushed hard on paying extra to "wash" my mats, when vacuuming already comes standard and is all silicone mats actually need. I shouldn't have to fight for a fair price every single time I come in. Between the constant upcharges and deflection tactics, it's clear this is standard practice here, not a one-off mistake. Loyal customer no more.

I rarely check in because its listed as San Diego Gas and Carwash instead of what it is...a Shell! I just can never find it when I try to check in so it's a pain in the butt. While I am a fan of this gas station, I'm noticing as it ages, the vacuums are breaking at an alarming rate. They either don't have any suction or stations are missing hoses completely. I often find myself going from station to station to find one that works. The car wash also sometimes smells really bad. I have to wonder if they reuse the water and if it's safe - the smell is unbearable sometimes when you go through. You can't escape it. I noticed they recently placed people at the end of the car wash to dry off the cars better....I LOVE this and willing to tip/pay extra for that extra level of service. While I'm a fan...I really hope they start fixing these things to keep me from going to a location closer to the house. If I'm just getting gas and getting a car wash, I can get that at Bressi but I regularly have to vacuum after a week of activities with the kiddo and 8/10, i'm able to do so here.

I drive up and this man comes up to me and literally yells "what car wash!!?" Totally yelling like he's very upset, no hello, then I tell him number 26 and he slaps the ticket on my window shield and keeps yelling at me to move it along and then I go in and pay I throw him the receipt to see how he likes it and he looks at me (if looks could kill) and I said are you the owner here? and he yells at me and he says yes I am and I said is that any way to treat your customers? and he starts yelling again says "you know what, I don't need your business" and he rips up my ticket. He tells the poor guys outside to quit vacuuming my car and sends me on my way. Please don't go here. It's a very very bad customer service. I don't know what's wrong with people nowadays I'm sorry he was having a bad day, but don't let it out on your customers. He didn't seem to care. So there's that. Never going back. One car was done in less than 45 minutes, and the other a similar timeline. I got home and could wipe dirt off with my hand on the SUV, so I find it hard to believe anything but a quick drive through wash was done. Also made an appt via yelp and the people on-site were confused and annoyed. "On-site" is relative as it's a tent at a gas station. I'd recommend going literally anywhere else for services. Edit - per the owners "scam alert" about not sending photos, see attached. They were sent in real time. I had to follow up for days for a supposed resolution, and the only recourse after was attempting to resolve with my credit card company. To clarify, I never said I didn't receive some services. We had to figure out some locational issues because our hotel Alila Marea Beach Resort would not allow us to detail on premises. Michael recommended us to use the location that his friend owned across the street which was perfect. Michael's communication was legit, the guy would text me 10-15 minutes before he left, 15 mins before he arrived and also 10 mins before he was done with the car.
