We recently had the opportunity to work with the amazing crew to install a patio and outdoor fireplace. From my first email exchange to the day the job was done, they were fantastic. They showed up when they said they would, kept the worksite absolutely pristine, and tackled every unexpected issue that arose with professionalism and craftsmanship. We found this adorable winery the day after Christmas and I'm glad we did. The property is absolutely beautiful and the inside was very cozy. The tasting room provided a 360 view of the property through large glass windows. We passed the time playing cards and games located on site. The staff was very friendly and accommodating making wonderful recommendations. I love their flights and how neat the design is. We even got a bottle of their holiday spice win to go. A group of 16 of us booked for the weekend and I honestly can't think of enough great things to say. Seriously, everything about this place was AMAZING! I organized the trip, so I got to work with one of the owners, Jesse, to get everything set up. He was helpful, responsive, accommodating, and really kind. I organize a lot for my friends and myself, and this was one of the easiest. Upon arrival we were checked in by the other owner, Gary, who immediately made us feel like we were at home. He gave us a wonderful tour of the property and told us everything we needed to know for a wonderful stay. This property is nestled in the hills of WV and the views are STUNNING! Every space and room is beautifully appointed, really leaning into the upscale rustic vibe you'd expect in a mountain retreat. So many beautiful nooks and crannies to sit and read or play games or just nap. The pool and hot tub are gorgeous and Logan at the pool bar will take amazing care of you! They provide a complimentary breakfast of freshly cooked eggs, meats, and biscuits/scones. The lunch and dinner menus are varied and everything we had was delicious. Our servers, Rain (spelling ??) and Angie were stellar and the ambience was just perfect. Every single one of us left feeling refreshed and we were all sad to leave. Do yourself a favor and make the trek out to Lost River and treat yourself. This place is amazing and I'm already planning my next trip here with my partner.

A winding road through a rocky valley with a mountain stream that flows to the Lost River. Then you turn into the Guesthouse and the stunning main building and cute cabins are so perfectly placed on the property with lovely landscaping. Walk into the main lobby to be greeted by Gary, one of the owners. He was super pleasant and took us on a tour of the property pointing out the dining room, bar, pool (although it was still closed for winter), hot tub and sauna, gym, multiple media rooms, game rooms and lounge areas, and then our room in the Hobson Cabin. The room was well appointed and clean. The shower was beautiful and had great water pressure and temperature. The balcony had wonderful views of the parks close by. A country breakfast is served daily at 9 and is a great start to the day. The dining room is open in the evening for drinks and dinner with a menu for anyone! Gary and Jesse are always close by if you ever need anything and make you feel most welcome. We can't wait to visit again in the summer so we can make full use of the pool and enjoy some nearby hiking!

1 Star -- The Beginning of a Horror Movie…read more We stopped here on 8/8 for my bachelorette weekend, and honestly, this felt less like a restaurant and more like the beginning of a horror movie. My girlfriends and I all ordered the French onion soup. The cheese was burnt, there was what looked like an entire soggy slice of bread floating in the cup, and the "caramelized onions" were actually rough-chopped white onions with absolutely no flavor. But bad soup happens, so we tried to overlook it. Then we noticed the dead flies in the windows... and the live ones flying around our table. We spent the meal constantly swatting them away from our food. Then one friend went to the restroom. When she came back, we could literally hear her shoes sticking to the floor with every step -- squish, stick, squish, stick -- all the way back to our table. We came in celebrating my bachelorette weekend expecting a fun night with good food and drinks. Instead, we got burnt soup, soggy bread, flavorless onions, dead flies, live flies, and floors apparently held together by grease and adhesive. If this restaurant were the opening scene of a horror movie, I can already hear the narrator: "They thought they were just stopping for dinner... they were wrong." Management seriously needs to address the cleanliness and sanitation. This wasn't just disappointing -- it was genuinely disgusting. We will not be returning.
