This is an awesome little spot in WV. I stopped in looking for a bite to eat and found way more than that! There is a small cafe with lots of vegan and vegetarian options available. Unfortunately there were out of many items but the pretzel and kale salad were actually amazing. They even had homemade mustard for the pretzels! Along with the small cafe there is an art studio with incredible works, an antique shop, and a little store with local beers. All of the items were so unique and cool to look at or purchase for gifts. A must stop if you are passing through!

Lost River Trading Post is located in the tiny town of Wardensville, WV, and its presence alone has begun to transform the town to a stay-awhile destination. You'll find a wheelchair accessible ramp, a large deck to enjoy treats from inside, an art gallery, antique room, and lots of artisan items and American-made crafts. I was impressed to find cross-stitch kits from one of my favorite artists, Lisa Congdon, as well as Homesick brand candles, and DC-made goodies. We left with a chai-spiced almond butter, a rainbow magnet, and craft cider. I loved perusing the design-happy jars of pickled veggies, bitters, specialty salts, and ornaments. Just be aware that the prices are like what you'll find in DC, sometimes more -- a bag of chips and salsa for porch snacking will cost you an unbelievable 21 dollars (!). With that said, we'll be back for gifts, a cup of coffee, a bakery treat, a visit on the outside deck. My family met one of the owners and his pups and next time I hope to do the same! Covid-19 note: This business is observing social distancing, all staff are wearing masks, and there are hand sanitizer stations. Eating is allowed outside and there is plenty of space to distance from others.

A place that you'd expect to find in the big city but instead in the adorable community of Wardensville. If you're traveling through the area this is the perfect stop to grab a unique gift for someone. I almost describe it as a millennial's convenience store + trendy local home furnishings + gift shop for the cool kids. My favorite part of the store is their assortment of local craft beers and wines! They're all so fun and extremely delicious! This is the coolest stop in Wardensville so don't pass this one up. We spent at least 30 minutes going through the place. Feel free to chat the employees up. They're all so friendly and interested in meeting their customers!

A great little place for a coffee brew or shopping for local crafts and WV antiques. Don't miss the aRt gallery. I perfect spot to sip and surf.

Awesome stop through the scenic drive of Virginia's mountains and national forests. This place has an art studio, coffee shop, and local liquors. They have a wide variety of clothes, antiques, and memorabilia to choose from as well as delicious scones.

Perfect spot for a quick coffee and scone on the porch. Then pick up some nik knacks, home decor, or provisions for your hiking trip.

Holy Smokes! This antique and collectibles LOOKS small, but it goes on and on! Every time I thought…read morewe were through it, there was another building attached with more stalls!! When I finally paid for my items, which included sandwiches, water and medicine that my body required, I found that I had been reported missing 18 months earlier!!! David Paulides even featured me in one of his "Missing 411" books. Do you know how I know? One of the dealers was selling that book and I saw that I was featured as last seen entering Strasburg Emporium!! My wife had remarried, my daughter had children of her own and it took a day and a half to shave my beard off! So bring breadcrumbs, maybe tackle a building one day at a time. Lots of COOL stuff though from 1st Edition book from the 1930s to brand new Hit Wheels, to White House Christmas ornaments and even antique glassware! The booth with the cans if sterno and pots & pans came in handy too! Amazing adventure and I left quite a bit poorer.

While this place has so many sellers and all the old things you can imagine the prices are crazy…read more You won't find a deal here! If you are looking for something in particular you could probably find it because they have quite the selection of old stuff but I don't know how they make money with some of those prices. Everyone was very nice and I'll probably rerun to see if it's possible to find a deal but it's kind of a letdown knowing I'm. Or going to spend that much money on old stuff to look at.
