This is an awesome little spot in WV. I stopped in looking for a bite to eat and found way more than that! There is a small cafe with lots of vegan and vegetarian options available. Unfortunately there were out of many items but the pretzel and kale salad were actually amazing. They even had homemade mustard for the pretzels! Along with the small cafe there is an art studio with incredible works, an antique shop, and a little store with local beers. All of the items were so unique and cool to look at or purchase for gifts. A must stop if you are passing through!

Lost River Trading Post is located in the tiny town of Wardensville, WV, and its presence alone has begun to transform the town to a stay-awhile destination. You'll find a wheelchair accessible ramp, a large deck to enjoy treats from inside, an art gallery, antique room, and lots of artisan items and American-made crafts. I was impressed to find cross-stitch kits from one of my favorite artists, Lisa Congdon, as well as Homesick brand candles, and DC-made goodies. We left with a chai-spiced almond butter, a rainbow magnet, and craft cider. I loved perusing the design-happy jars of pickled veggies, bitters, specialty salts, and ornaments. Just be aware that the prices are like what you'll find in DC, sometimes more -- a bag of chips and salsa for porch snacking will cost you an unbelievable 21 dollars (!). With that said, we'll be back for gifts, a cup of coffee, a bakery treat, a visit on the outside deck. My family met one of the owners and his pups and next time I hope to do the same! Covid-19 note: This business is observing social distancing, all staff are wearing masks, and there are hand sanitizer stations. Eating is allowed outside and there is plenty of space to distance from others.

A place that you'd expect to find in the big city but instead in the adorable community of Wardensville. If you're traveling through the area this is the perfect stop to grab a unique gift for someone. I almost describe it as a millennial's convenience store + trendy local home furnishings + gift shop for the cool kids. My favorite part of the store is their assortment of local craft beers and wines! They're all so fun and extremely delicious! This is the coolest stop in Wardensville so don't pass this one up. We spent at least 30 minutes going through the place. Feel free to chat the employees up. They're all so friendly and interested in meeting their customers!

A great little place for a coffee brew or shopping for local crafts and WV antiques. Don't miss the aRt gallery. I perfect spot to sip and surf.

Awesome stop through the scenic drive of Virginia's mountains and national forests. This place has an art studio, coffee shop, and local liquors. They have a wide variety of clothes, antiques, and memorabilia to choose from as well as delicious scones.

Perfect spot for a quick coffee and scone on the porch. Then pick up some nik knacks, home decor, or provisions for your hiking trip.

I tried the chicken salad sandwich and it was incredibly satisfying. The store deserves an exploration and has a little bit of everything. We wanted to fill up on gas before "going over the mountain". GPS led us to the New Star Market/Shell Gas Station, which was only about a mile off I-81 and directly on our route. The self-service gas area was a bit congested, but we squeezed behind a parked pickup to get to a pump. Gas prices were excellent at $2,75/gallon. I went to check out the small convenience store. They seemed to have pretty much everything that a traveler might want or need, including snacks, a deli, and more. Many other reviewers have mentioned BBQ, and an outdoor sign, advertised this as well. Somehow, my husband and I both missed this -- probably because it wasn't lunch time for us yet! We'll have to check it out again upon our return. The cashier was friendly and polite. Restrooms were outside and clean. .

The town itself has that perfect mountain-arts vibe--historic brick buildings, quiet streets, and a steady flow of hikers, skiers, and road-trippers--and TipTop fits right into that rhythm. The shop is cozy and unpretentious, the kind of café where the warmth from the espresso machine and the conversations around the room cut through the mountain chill. It feels local in the best way--welcoming without trying too hard. But the real highlight is the coffee. The cup I had was excellent: clean, balanced, and clearly prepared by people who care about the craft. It had the kind of clarity and sweetness that stands out, especially when you're used to road-trip coffee stops that are just "good enough." This was genuinely memorable. If you're passing through the Canaan Valley / Blackwater Falls area or chasing powder at Timberline or Canaan Valley Resort, TipTop Coffee is absolutely worth the stop. It's proof that even in a small Appalachian ski town, you can still find a cup that would hold its own in much bigger coffee cities. A mountain gem.

I always make it a point to visit whenever I'm in town and always highly recommend this location to others!
