I went just yesterday to my appointment with Amber (Groupon in hand) and I have to say, it was the best salon experience I've had! As I walked through the door I was greeted by both Amber and another stylist. Was seated for a moment, and was in the chair quicker than the song on their (Bluetooth) juke box ended. Amber had gotten me settled in, seen my reference pics, and went over a quick game-plan with me. Then we had gotten started. It was a breeze! She had me in friendly, no pause conversations the entire time. While processing my color, I was offered water and coffee, and was even able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze until it was wash time. The look I left with is so lovely! After reading everyone's comments I am kind of questioning if Amber was having a bad/busy day with me. I purchased a groupon and when I went in I wasn't even greeting my amber it was more like " oh hey come on in ill wash your hair" part of the groupon was a "deep treatment" she conditioned my hair waited 5 mins and then washed it off. After I got to my seat she just trimmed my hair and I asked her for short layers and side bangs, but she didn't; she just trimmed it and then blow dried it and styled it with a curling iron and was done in 15 mins. First of all, she didn't put no product before or after. I didn't want my hair curled I wanted it to be blow dried but she didn't bother asking. The cut- it was only a trim NO layers. I'm not sure if she was in a rush because she had a color on the chair or she was busy. I was in and out in 15-20 mins. If I can get my money back or a partial refund from groupon I would be on it! read more

I hadn't gotten my haircut at a salon in over a year because last time I got a "trim" the lady I went to cut 5 inches off I told Amber at The Glam Box that she could take up to 3 inches off my hair but as much as I needed to make it look healthy, and she only took 1.5-2 inches off, and dyed the ends darker, I've never been happier with a haircut. She was super nice and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. The place was very cute and you could tell that the staff are very close. Definitely recommend her! read more

This Salon had a Living Social special. I have probably called a good 25-30 times in the past two weeks to set up an appointment. Sometimes I would leave a message, other times I would just hang up. They have never returned my call or even answered the phone. I have tried during business hours, before and after business hours - NOTHING! The website says appointments 7 days a week. Umm, I don't think so. I really think they got a bunch of money for the Living Social deals and are gone on vacation! After two weeks of being patient and calling - I wouldn't want them touching my hair anyways. I just called Living Social, and let them know what is going on, they refunded my money without any fuse. I will continue to use the Living Social deals... just NOT with this place. And they will be looking into this business. Buyer Beware with this place!! read more

I am a first time customer to The Glam box Salon. First off i was a little worried going somewhere new since i am VERY picky when it come to who I let touch my hair. :) After talking to Kristen on the phone about million times i felt a little better in purchasing (LivingSocial Deal) and setting up an appointment for a Brazilian Blowout. I had my appointment Aug 23rd at 9am with Kristen. When i arrived i was greeted by Kristen (i was about 15min late) she was friendly and made me feel welcome. She started the process which took a little over 2 hrs (due to the amount of hair and length that i have). We talked the whole time i was their i felt like she had been my stylist for years. As she worked she was explaining each step she was doing from washing my hair to adding the solution, blow drying, washing it again, etc.. At the end I was Beyond pleased with the end results of the blowout. It's been a little over 2 months since i got the blowout, i've been on vacation to cabo and the beach and Loved that my hair did not turn into a lion mane lol (which is what would normally happens when i go in the water). A day after I purchased a Brazilian Blowout on GROUPON, I called and texted hoping to make an appointment before my trip to Hawaii. The ladies got back to me and was very flexible with my busy school schedule. With all the bad reviews on here, I was very shocked that they squeezed me in before my Hawaii trip!!! The ladies here are so awesome and they deserve every star. I do understand why some people can get frustrated because they may not answer calls or text right away. But honestly, they are with clients all day and it's RUDE if they were to answer phone calls while they are working on your hair. THINK ABOUT IT. I give them 5 stars for squeezing me into their schedule in such a short notice and for their great quality treatment. Much like the other reviewers, I went to the Glam Box to get a Brazilian Blowout and I am IN LOVE with the amazing way my hair turned out. This was my first time getting my hair done at the Glam Box and by Jamie. I haven't gone to a new hair stylist in over 10 years but after the AMAZING job that she did with the Brazilian Blowout I plan on making Jamie, the Glam Box, and the Brazilian Blowout a part of my routine. Please keep in mind I am mixed with Black so my hair is courser, with tighter curls and it still turned out AMAZING! My hair is softer, shinier, it looks healthier, and my boyfriend LOVES the fact that I don't stress about getting my hair wet in the spa or come out with a hot mess after getting out. For my March 4 wedding, Jamie did my undo and undoes for my bridesmaids and my mom, with the help of another stylist, in about 3 hours total! Every girl looked amazing and not a single one had hair falling out at the end of the night (even after a whole lot of dancing.) Paula was my makeup artist for both my wedding and my engagement photos and she made me feel so beautiful both times. I had been growing out my hair for five years and, due to migraines and general "I'm tired of hair everywhere" feelings, I sold 24" to another person through a hair selling website. Unfortunately, just because someone pays for your hair doesn't mean it magically jumps off of your head and onto theirs (at least in my case). So, being a rather impoverished student, I turned to Groupon to find a hairstylist. And I found Katie. I called her at 10 am on a Tuesday and left a message. She returned my call around 5 pm and I was in for an appointment at 6:45 the same evening. The salon was adorable, decorated in turquoise, white, and black. Jamie and Katie were extremely friendly, kind, and helpful (and so were the other customers!). I showed Katie a bunch of pictures of haircuts on my phone and she created a gorgeous pixie. I asked her a million questions about hair chemistry and styling and products and she cheerfully and knowledgeably answered them. I have gotten so many positive comments about my new haircut and I love it. I cannot recommend Katie (or the Glam Box) more. read more

I have never written a bad review ever. In fact i have 4 very happy reviews to write from my wedding day. But not for this one... I called the salon on a Saturday 2 weeks b4 my wedding and spoke to Amber. Told her i was interested in make up and hair for my wedding. 8 for MU and at the least myself for hair. She quoted me 35ea for makeup and 50 for hair said Jayme was their mobile person and was out for the day, she would call her now and see if she could have her call me, if not she would be back in the salon on monday and for sure would call me then. I didnt hear from her over the weekend, ok no biggie. Monday came and went, tuesday too, then i called. She wasnt in at the moment but she said she would call and give her the message and call me right away. The next week i get a random text message from a Nicole-that shes available and asks for time, number of girls and location. I confirm with her all the details that i had given and received from calling the salon. She informs me she doesnt do make up and if its an updo it will be 60 each plus a 50 travel fee. Ok, still a good deal so i book. She needed a number for hair which unfortunately i didnt have yet. I explained i had wanted hair only for myself and wasnt sure if more girls would be interested. She texted me, that she was under the impression there were more girls. I told her that was for make up and apologized for the confusion. I told her of it wasnt qorth it for her i understand just let me know. she stated she could do it but would need to up the travel fee and know right away how many more girls wanted their hair as it was last minute and she had to come all the way out from Apple Valley. again I agreed. I messaged her on wednesday that sounded fair to me and i would pay the extra. Thursday she texted and asked for pics and time. Unfortunately my return message had sat in my outbox and i didnt realize until the night before. (We had 3 trips to the ER the week of my wedding- myself a concusion, my little sister a broken wrist, and my cousins dialysis machine stopped working after he flew in- it was a crazy week.) I messaged her and apologized only to get a response that she assumed id moved on to someone else and was no longer available. I was completely blown away! I couldnt understand how she could have come to the assumption i wasnt planning to use her anymore. I had just confirmed with her on wednesday and told her all seemed ok and fair despite the fact shed already changed the price on me twice. She texted me that shed been trying to confirm with me all week. But after the message on wednesday there was only the one on thursday. Nothing else. So there it was 11pm the night before my wedding and i had no one. I eneded up two hours behind schedule trying to keep a curl in my own hair only for it to fall flat. I just wore it down. Wish she would have said something if she she was thinking of scheduling other people. I booked a make up artist from somewhere else right after Nicole told me she didnt do make up, that MUA called me briefly to confirm, showed up on time and freaking rocked it. I have a great review to leave for her. It seems to me like she might have gotten an offer for more money and just decided to take that instead. I wish she would have just told me when i asked her tje first time instead of just leaving me stranded. I dont get a redo there. read more

I texted Nicolette multiple times and she would text me once and then I wouldn't get an answer. The first incident she apologized and thanked me for still sticking with her but never texted me back. Mixed feelings about this place. I purchased a groupon for a shampoo, condition, cut blow dry & style with Katie. I always get my hair done in Montclair but because I'm so busy I barely have time to go out there anymore. I texted Katie with an appointment for Saturday at 10:00AM and she texted me back with a confirmation of the exact date and date. This was planned about 2 weeks prior to... The day before I received no reminder text or phone call. I showed up early to my appointment and Katie was a no-show. There were two other girls present at the salon, and one of them openly fussed about "why would she do that to someone? Why would she schedule a girl when she wasn't gonna show up? That's SO annoying." I understand Katie was late/no-show, but this other girl's behavior was so poor it turned me off from even asking if someone else could take me. She continued to rant about Katie's absence with a bad attitude, and even asked me "did you text her? Blow that girl's phone up!" Which was terribly classless in my opinion. After this woman left, the other lady was patient and understanding and apologized for the inconvenience. I called Katie, and she didn't pick up. I even texted her, and received no response (I still haven't gotten a response or apology from her as of today). Amber, the last stylist who was present, offered to take me on Katie's behalf, which was really kind of her. I purchased the Groupon that was exclusive to Katie, but Amber reassured me she would work something out with Katie later and she didn't want me to have come to the salon without a service done. Amber did a good job with the trim I requested and was very friendly and accommodating. To this day I have no explanation for Katie's absence or lack of follow-up regarding this situation. I understand it she may have had an emergency... And it's possible she may have just forgotten. Regardless, I think there should have been a follow-up and apology. I understand stylists get a small cut from Groupon, and for that I tip very generously (at least $20). I work in a spa as an esthetician and understand how little profit you get from Groupon. However, if this no-show and no follow-up was a result of treating a Groupon client with disregard, it is inexcusable. A paying client is a paying client no matter what price is paid... It was your decision to sign up for Groupon. For the Glam Box as a whole, I'd have to give it a single-star rating. The woman with the poor attitude really set the atmosphere for me and showed me the lack of customer service training the salon as a whole had. Also, the lax dress code showed the level of professionalism in this salon. No makeup or hair done? No attempt to dress trendy or chic or professional? You're a licensed professional, dress like one! This isn't beauty school anymore. And of course, lastly, being stood up by my stylist with no apology or follow-up. My only saving grace from this was Amber, whose willingness to cut my hair made up for the wasted travel. read more

When I left a message it said due to high volume of calls they will not respond right away its been a week and I feel it is very bad business to promote a special and not follow-up when a new customer is trying to set up an appointment I didn't need the appointment right away at least answer the phone and set the appointment even if its a month away or don't promote a special if you can't take care of the Customer....There is allot of Salons in Redlands that I would be more then happy to give my business too...Now I am stuck with a Voucher I paid for and nobody will call me back:((( read more

For KATIE: I found Katie through Groupon and she had such great reviews that I decided to give her a shot. I wasn't disappointed! I had a Groupon for a shampoo, deep condition, cut and style. The shampoo and condition felt great because she gave me a mini scalp massage. I had no idea what I wanted for my cut and she offered her best suggestion suited to my hair type, which I really appreciated. She was fast but the quality didn't suffer at all. The whole thing took 40 minutes and while she was blow-drying, she gave me advice on how to blow-dry and style myself. Nicolette is highly professional. She made contact with me right after I purchased my Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout. 1st plus is the great price for it even if I hadn't bought the coupon. I had already booked a Blowout somewhere else and was going to pay $300. Glam Box only charges $110 regularly for the Blowout. 2nd Nicolette worked with my schedule and sent me a reminder the day of. 3rd a late Saturday appointment is unheard of.
