Because of todays experience I am giving this business a one star. I was looking forward to getting my eyebrows done by Alexa since back in October, but she wasn't taking new clients at the time. Once her books opened up I wasted no time and booked to get my eyebrows done right before the holidays. Alexa waxed my eyebrows 2-3 times, and those few times was a good experience. However today I was exactly 5 min late, and she immediately messaged me with a "no show" message following an invoice for $40. I was confused since that is her grace period according to her policy. I was scheduled at 4:30, but got there at 4:35. Her studio door was shut with a do not disturb sign. I found that unprofessional given that I was scheduled to come in. The respectful thing for Alexa to have done should've been to have her door open and let me know she wasn't going to take me in rather than just having her door shut. I know I was late, but it was within those five minutes "I'm allowed". As business owner I feel like they should be able to work with her customers. This was the first time I was late to an appointment with her. The only way of contacting her is through instagram, but it's not a quick response time on her end. Which I understand given she's working on clients. So I don't know how I would've been able to explain my situation. To add more to her being unprofessional Alexa blocked me on instagram. I was not problematic nor did I cause a scene. I don't understand the need to have to do this. These small business owners have all these policies you have to follow, but are ok to have excuses on their own terms. My advice for anyone trying to book with Alexa is not to count on the 5 minute grace period she claims to give. This whole situation made me feel like I was scammed since I was within my 5 minute grace period, but was still charged the $40 without any service. read more

Posting for my sister who doesn't have Yelp. She got her brows waxed by Alexa today and was very disappointed. These pics are actually after I attempted to slightly even them out. There were lots of stray hairs missed. Her right eyebrow had gaps in the bottom line of hairs. The middle space has way too much hair gone. The arches were so slight and super uneven. The whole booking website lists services exclusively for new clients. It is very clear: new vs current. I tripled checked I picked the right options. All services were available. The business asks for my credit card and threatens to charge me 100% for the services if I cancel on my end. I waste one day of my time not looking for a another place because I thought I had done all the steps to get booked for the availability shown. Alexa is soooooo nice. However, I am not so happy with her cancelation policy. I understand paying a fee, but for it to be the same amount as the service that was to be done that day seemed a little steep. And in my case, I didn't want to cancel. She wanted to cancel since she was uncomfortable because my face was peeling from a dermatology treatment that I get done every two weeks. I told her I was fine with getting the wax and would sign anything to say I'm okay with any damages from the wax but she refused. She still charged me the price of the wax as a cancelation fee. I don't think that's the best business practices. I won't be coming back which is kinda sad cause I really wanted to support her growing business. read more

Omg where do I begin! Alexa has been a game changer for me. I followed her for awhile before booking with her to just check out her work. I absolutely fell in love with what she does for people. I had my wedding coming up in October of 2021 and I knew this was the time to see if this was going to become a regular thing for me.
