    Sausage Roll
    Chanel G.

My friend and I literally stopped someone in their tracks asking where they got their delightfully looking sausage roll. They directed us to the Ginger Roll around the corner from where we were standing. So glad that we picked one up before leaving out of Borough Market. Believe them when they say "World Famous", the roll came out piping hot and tasted almost like a breakfast sausage wrapped in a flaky, buttery dough. Wow. I'd be lying if I told you that I don't think about this Sausage Roll often. Seriously, you've got the check them out. It'll be worth it.

    In line waiting my turn

This sausage roll haunts my dreams! Tried other sausage roll flavors at the ginger pig but the OG flavor speaks to me. The line was long but moved fast. Mouth is watering writing this review. If you're in London don't walk run to the ginger pig. It also doesn't hurt that it located at one of the best food markets in London. So you can get a sausage roll, fish and chips meat pies, corn beef sandwich's Turkish delights Cheese and wine and some high end ingredients all at same place. While scarfing down the best sausage roll ever

Yum, yum, worth lining up for! Very good English sausage to grab n go. Quick service so be ready when it's your turn as the like can get so long but goes very quick as well. A must try if in Borough Market area which we were at the time visiting the Shard and Tate Modern!

We visited their location in Borough market. They are a butcher that also sells amazing sausage rolls. For 6 pounds, you get a decent size sausage roll that is deliciously spiced and warm. We liked it so much we went there not twice but three times!! Would definitely recommend for a quick delicious filling snack while having a lovely day out in London

The best sausage roll I have ever eaten. Nom.

I had the best sausage roll I have EVER eaten from this butchers. My husband and I walked into central London and managed to do all of our Christmas shopping on one day, all with the energy provided from a ginger pig sausage roll and a pork pie (we shared half of each...) So if you don't think you could manage all your festive shopping at once, just pop in here for a meaty energy boost, and I promise, you'll get through it!! Also: - We came back another day and bought a couple of pies, that were lovely (although the pastry was a bit thick for my taste) - My husband comes here for roasts at lunch sometimes and it sounds gooorgeous!

Upon winning the lotto, some people would spend it all on overpriced houses, hookers or endless table service in New York or Vegas clubs. Me? I'd buy meat. Premium meat. I don't want to snort coke lines across someone's buttocks. I'd prefer to eat a pork chop. Or a rack of lamb. If you share in this appreciation of very high end product, then Ginger Pig is a place to visit. I'm not really sure if I've visited a more impressive butcher, from the amazing variety of fare to the live action of meat carving artisans putting on a show. If and when my ping pong balls align, I'll be here to order a nice aged steak. THen eat it off someone's buttocks.

I hope this smoked Polish was well cooked.

Seewoo now does delivery across London of essential Asian groceries!…read moreThe full product list is on their website. Be careful, there are two Seewoo websites, so make sure you're on the right one. I've now ordered twice, and while I'm grateful to be able to get delivery, they are not a fully slick service so there might be the following issues: 1) When you email the order, you have to wait for them to call back to give you a delivery date. This could be days/up to a week later. And it has to be delivered the next day after they call you to take payment 2) I had an order come a day later than was given 3) I've had items missing from my order, some charged and some not 4) I've had an item expiring 4 days before my delivery date, and another expiring the same day. 5) They cannot process refunds at this point, the only thing they can do is after COVID lockdown is over, you have to visit the shop in Chinatown with your invoices and complaint, and they will sort it out there. So if you're willing to accept the above, then this is a great way to get some Asian groceries delivered directly to your door.

If you spot a traffic jam on Lisle Street, you've probably found the store - there are usually trucks unloading outside, which blocks up the narrow street. That's quite apt as the aisles inside are also quite narrow and the place can become quite crowded if there are lots of people inside. It has the usual mix of fresh and canned/preserved Asian goods. I don't shop here often and find it a little hard to navigate. The range isn't bad though it's not as comprehensive as some of the bigger supermarkets. However, as it's off the beaten path, sometimes you can find something here which is sold out elsewhere. So you may see me at Seewoo!

I was feeling a little under the weather and just wanted a good chicken soup. To my surprise I found an excellent, flavorful Chicken Matzo Ball Soup here that was so good and memorable. The Brass Rail is set in the busy foodhall at Selfridges. It's partially partitioned off as its own dining establishment. You will be seated by a host and given menus. Now, the only complaint I have about our experience was the attitude of the person what waited on us. She was clearly in a bad mood and made no reservations about the making it really obvious she wasn't feeling her job that day. My husband even asked her if everything was okay, and she just shrugged it off. The table sat next to us about 15 minutes after we got there, literally waited for another 15 minutes to place their order. After the waitress really gave up, they left without having even been given the opportunity to place their order. As to be expected, they were cheery and pleasant despite the waitress intentionally dripping the ball. Fortunately we were able to get our food. I loved the Chicken Matzo Ball Soup. It was fresh and delicately seasoned. Not too salty and just had amazing flavors that made me feel rejuvenated from a very busy, physically demanding adventure in London that day. Even through I'm not much of a beef eater, I would definitely be back based on how delicious the soup was and the exciting atmosphere of being in the Selfridges Foodhall. However, Loon Fung does have a butcher, which is unique for Chinatown supermarkets. Look for good prices on pork belly, a favourite for Chinese cooks long before it became fashionable in trendy restaurants. Also worth a browse to see cuts that you won't find in Tesco - pigs' trotters and pigs' ears! I also think Loon Fung is the best Chinatown supermarket to buy longans, a round fruit with brown skin. For a mental picture, think of a lychee and shrink it about half. Now, get a mental taste of lychee, sweeten and intensify the flavour, make a little more perfumed and juicy and that's the taste of longan. Wonderful!! A live pianist played in the front entrance. Staff were kind and proper. They offered to hang our coats in the closet. Afternoon Tea came with refillable teas, sandwiches, scones, and desserts. A Savory Afternoon Tea was an option as well, which doesn't have any sweets. I enjoyed all of the sandwiches. Everything was equally delicious, except the Cucumber and Lemon Mint. The Suffolk Ham with English Mustard had a nice kick. The Egg Mayonnaise was a classic for me. The Coronation Chicken was a mini chicken salad in a sandwich. The Kames Bay Trout with dill Cream Cheese is a great combination. I'm not a huge scone person, but the savory scones were very good. The Fortnum Strawberry Preserve was our favorite. For the desserts, my favorite was the Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut Praline. The Hazelnut Praline cookie bottom was airy and crisp. The chocolate inside was a light mousse. All of the desserts were extremely fragrant. The Rose Eclair and Orange Mousse played no games. I also liked the Treacle Tart because of its nutty flavor. I was incredibly full that I couldn't finish the Coconut Loaf, which was my least favorite.
