We were only three people for dinner after having a late lunch. Duck Terrine with jam was out of this world, one of the best I've ever had. Super flavorful and generously portioned. Next was a Partridge which likely was the first time I've eaten one - but won't be my last. There were many great looking dishes, including fallow deer which our friend really enjoyed. It's a little pricey for what you get even by Harrods standards - 3 pastries, a bagel sandwich, 2 lattes a beer and a glass of champagne was over 120 pounds/ 150 dollars but an enjoyable last day treat nonetheless less! Highly recommend the pate... we had the cheese fondue for the table for dinner and it was the best fondue I have ever had. They use three cheeses in their fondue and white wine. They sell wines and the restaurant is located underground. We were seated in a nice airy and light area in the resturant and were greeted by a young "intern trainee" waitperson. She was great at announcing the specials however her execution fell short. We ordered a bottle of wine and my husband actually pointed to our choice. She brought the wine and opened it and it was not what we had ordered - it about $30 US more than the one that we ordered. They corrected the mistake but the other waitress said "now we have an opened bottle of wine that we have to do something with". They should not have a trainee or someone very green to take the wine order. About the food - it was amazingly delicious! We ordered the fois gras and the Lyonnaise salad which were both magnificent. The 4 stars are for the food and ambiance. When I ordered, I asked our server about the salad - what was the lettuce that comes with the dish. She replied "iceberg". I said I cannot eat iceberg is there another lettuce? She pointed to the lettuce at another table and it was NOT iceberg - it was butter lettuce. They do not train their staff well - the food nonetheless is very good. She obviously did not know about food. I highly recommend this restaurant bu be careful if you get a non trained server.
