It's a great corner spot with both lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It was decorated with lots of German artifacts, as well as World Cup items. The workers were very friendly and welcoming. They gave us some great suggestions and we took him up on them. They had a large selection of German beers and I got a Dunkel since it's one of my favorites. My wife got at Helles. For food, we had to get a pretzel, Wiener schnitzel and potato pancakes. All 3 were delicious as were the two beers. It is our new go-to German spot.

But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. The menu however, has major issues. The bread they use for the garlic bread, the pesto bread, and the pastrami sandwich doesn't hold up. The white part of the bread gets mushy and has a bad texture. That's the case for all hot sandwiches and garlic breads. I recently ordered the chicken parm, and the chicken was cut into small pieces and was burnt. I like my meat cut up in rice dishes such as paella and jambalaya, but cut up chicken parm seems low class and it wasn't great. I also recently ordered the Italian sub. It's a shame you have to pay extra for cheese. IMO, an Italian sub should have both Provolone and Mozzarella cheese. Their sandwich comes with no cheese and is an extra charge. Bummer. Also, they have a variety of Italian-style sandwiches, but none of them have the classic salami, mortadella, and capicola combination which is the authentic combination from my experience. To top it off, the Italian Sub doesn't have red onion or black olives. Meh. There are more menu issues. In the end, there's nothing I find above average. I don't discourage you from going if you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal on the sidewalk outside in nice weather, but there is literally nothing I've found on their large menu that is above average. The menu is flawed in too many ways. At least the family owners seem to be very nice and that goes a long way in deciding who to give my hard earned money to.
