I lived at The George for a year and thoroughly enjoyed living here. The amenities are great and the concierge staff is so kind and helpful. However, my interactions with the leasing staff are some of the most unprofessional and aggressive encounters I've had, and I felt I had no other option but to move out. Had it not been for my awful experiences with the 2 women in the leasing office, I would have gladly stayed longer.
I met with Parris in May 2024 to renew my lease. I was told by other residents renewing their lease that they were given rent concessions for the next year, so I asked if any were available for my apartment. Bree, who was not apart of the meeting but overheard from outside the office, barged in and demanded to know who told me of these concessions. After I said I was uncomfortable sharing names of people I'd spoken to, Bree continuously talked over me and denied any concessions were given. Rather than stopping Bree's unprofessional interruption, our meeting turned into an interrogation and Parris only doubled down and told me that, without confessing names, they would not be able to honor any concessions. Despite wanting to stay, with or without concessions, I turned in my lease termination 5 minutes after our meeting because of how demeaning and hostile our meeting was.
After I moved out, my account was charged an additional months' rent. After being bounced around between multiple phone numbers and emails for weeks, I gave up and went into their office. Before I'd even finished my sentence as to what I needed help on, Bree interrupted me and said she didn't have the resources to help me and told me to email someone else. When I asked for the email, she refused to give it to me and said she was too busy. The situation escalated. She yelled she didn't know the email and didn't have time to check her computer. When I asked her to remind Parris to return my emails, which she'd been avoiding for weeks, she yelled that Parris had "COVID! Do you know what COVID is?!". I left when she began screaming at me, but she chased me out to the entrance and asked if I still wanted the email. When I said yes, I'd asked for the email 5 minutes ago, she turned her back, ignored me, and walked away.
Parris and Bree know I am a student with little experience renting. They are deceivingly nice until you move in. They are incredibly condescending when I ask for clarification on instructions or information. They consistently avoided meeting with me or my roommate by "accidentally" emailing the wrong person, claiming to be sick or busy with meetings, etc. They made me feel like a nuisance for simple questions. They speak over me and have tried to INTIMIDATE ME AT EVERY MEETING. I am not the only resident who has had nasty interactions with this office. If you decide to live here, good luck dealing with Parris and Breeayana. read more
