The owner is garbage and rude. Most items are far above market value and it's just cramped space.

Good selection, fair prices, a little bit small, but then again all these shops tend to be.

This is my favorite store on the planet. Not my favorite…read morecomics store, or my favorite bookstore - my favorite STORE. Best thing to do is go to www.copacetic.biz or even better head over to the store, nestled in a quiet corner of Squirrel Hill across from the police department. Bill (the owner) stocks an unbelievable range of comics, books, DVDs, music, and art in his tiny space. You won't find many contemporary superheros here, but what you will find is all the modern artsy comics you can handle, the Criterion collection of DVDs, weird discount European jazz label imports, Little Lulu, punk rock, Pauline Kael, the Dover collection of classic literature, local zines, a big comfy chair, and most importantly, the proprietor who will find out your tastes and guide you to the material that will best intrigue and interest you. He encourages browsing and reading, and there's usually classic or independent cinema playing on the small TV, or else classic jazz on the stereo. I checked the "$" price rating because nearly everything that Bill sells is discounted from the original price - including both the new stuff and the classics (on which many of which other stores have bagged and marked-up the price). This is extremely rare in comics retailing. Since moving to New York City, the two retail institutions I've missed the most from Pittsburgh are (1) REI, and (2) Copacetic. Go there now!

It used to be extremely isolationist and the employees would actively push you to not buying anything and leaving asap as you've probably interrupted their D&D or MTG game by shopping. Their selection was nearly illogically lacking, such as 1 of 5 core books being the only available or simply not getting any new or desired items. Yet the ccgs seem to be enough to have allowed them to move and grow They're worth the 2nd chance even though they may have seriously offended you, which is why no one I know, (40yr of CCG ttrpg friends and experience and friends), will ship there. The employees would start fights rather than actually help. But I have not seen that since they moved. But I'm not sure to responded as to why they don't understand the negative reviews so this is an explanation for you in case that person hopefully they are not one of those employees does not understand why they had the negative reviews this is why

They have a wide selection a bit pricey on some items but nothing crazy I bought some MTG packs and they were more than nice! My only complaint besides pricing is how limited the singles were but tbh that could just be because people scooped the good stuff already.

There are multiple floors at Eide's and you can take the stairs but there is an elevator. Their floors are organized by the type of item they sell on that floor. For example, one floor is records, another is comics, toys, and action figures, so it's pretty simple to find the right direction if you're looking for something specific. The staff is also very kind and helpful. During my most recent trip I was browsing the first floor and found one of my favorite books from my childhood! It was only $5 and I couldn't pass it up. You just never know what you'll find here, but I can guarantee if you look hard enough you'll find some gems!

We weren't greeted at all- or acknowledged so for a place that was voted PGH best record store- not sure. We went to the store a few days ago and felt that the young lady was fair in the offer she gave us for the few items we brought in to sell. As a result, we thought it was safe to bring the rest of my collection all at once tonight. Unfortunately, my husband and I truly feel like a fast one was played on us. We brought well over 50 items into the store. After waiting approximately 45 minutes for the three associates to look over the items, the young man called us to the counter to let us know that they were only interested in purchasing quote, unquote just a few things. He pointed to a bag sitting behind the counter that was stuffed to the top with my collectibles and said that they were not interested in hardly any of the action figures or collectible figurines. He then pointed over to a shelf which only appeared to have 12 items tops and said these are the few things that we are interested in purchasing. His offer was $20 store credit or $16 cash. Thinking it was only if you items I took the offer and brought my throne about collection back to my car. I just got back to my house and realized that I was never given a receipt showing what exactly they bought in the price they gave me for each item. On top of that, when I went through my collection that was hardly stuffed in the bag I found it was more like 25 to 30 items most of which were my action figures and collectible figurines. Needless to say I am not happy in the least. I have been searching online and all through the website looking for a contact form or an email. I would really like to formally document my complaint and dissatisfaction. Oh well... I guess I am going to just have to personally go into the store tomorrow to the bottom of this. I'll be sure to keep you posted on how the situation develops and the resolution presented... If any Grrrrrr
