One thing I will make note is that this space is in the heart of downtown. When there are festivals in DTR, Fayetteville street is closed, which may confuse some of your older party guests. It ended up being fine because there was still plenty of parking and then our guests got to attend a street festival after the early morning party, but just something to be aware of. My emails & text messages requesting an update have gone unanswered. I completely understand that businesses can experience unexpected changes & delays. However, when a business agrees to issue a refund, there should be clear communication & timely follow-through. At this point, I simply want the refund that I was promised. This isn't a space that you can just walk into (now that you know where it's located), rather it's a private venue space, charging $300/6 hours on Fridays and Saturdays with a $500 minimum bar tab and $100/6 hours Sunday-Thursday with a $300 minimum bar tab. The small space includes a New Orleans voodoo theme complete with voodoo dolls and bare breasted fortune tellers (in photos). Your party is invited to enjoy the velvet couches and hairs artfully placed around the room and has access to a private bar (and bartender). I love the back wall, with photo windows viewing Salisbury Street and a huge wooden bench seat. Rebecca and her husband Steve, the owners of The Big Easy, created this space to throw a rocking New Years Eve party, and they're inviting locals to use it during the year. Having seen A Southern Soiree in TONS of blogs and websites, I asked right away if I could work with them for my wedding. I ended up working with Gina, and based on my contract with the venue, assumed that we would just meet a couple of times to cover the basics and that Gina would primarily just be there to support the actual wedding day. I could not have been more wrong, in all the right ways! Gina was an absolute dream to work with and well exceeded my expectations throughout the wedding planning vision. She helped so much throughout the planning process. She was also professional, quick to respond to emails, had great ideas for my wedding day, and has such a great personality - I had so much fun at all of our meetings! When the day of the rehearsal dinner came, I had everything packed in my car and drove over to the venue, starting to feel overwhelmed with pre-wedding stress. As soon as I parked my car at the valet, Gina and her assistant were there coordinating getting my car unloaded. I gave Gina a rundown on what I had in all the boxes and where it needed to go, and she took over from there. There was no stressing out about setting out favors, making sure programs made it to the ceremony, etc. because Gina had it 100% taken care of.
