I get the sense it's beloved by locals of a certain set as it was busy on a Saturday afternoon with tables full of folks enjoying conversation over lunch. We were tucked in the back room which made for a quieter experience. I had the pick two combo of roast beef arugula sandwich and chicken velvet soup. Both were decent - I think maybe upgrading the deli meat might help the sandwiches overall, wasn't a huge fan of the roast beef (some yucky pieces) but the sandwich itself had good ingredients of fresh arugula, shaved Parmesan, and horseradish sauce. The soup was my favorite part of the meal, but it's pretty much a cream of mushroom and chicken soup so not particularly groundbreaking. The Nutty Irish Lady was recommended to me, and was just ok. It had cherry notes apparently, but I tasted just mostly just Irish cream flavor. I'd definitely try it for breakfast, sample some other coffee menu items, and maybe get a salad for lunch instead. A cozy local spot seemingly enjoyed by many!

The three girls that were working were so loud talking amongst each other was over stimulating I couldn't even concentrate to place my order. Then they turned on music and began to sing. I enjoy music as much as the next person. I'd rather of heard alley cats than what I was experiencing today. It's very echoing inside. Not the previous pleasant calming experiences as before. Had to leave and eat in my car instead of enjoying the prior experience. Maybe the new owner could figure something out. The product was still really good though. Update: Wow I drove up the street to eat my bowl in peace, a police officer came up to me and said there was a call about a suspicious person (meaning me) because I walked back inside after I received my order to look at the menu to make sure it was correct because of the ruckus and walked back out. Update again: I didn't say the music was on while ordering that came on after the fact. I was going to sit and enjoy my bowl but the music was too loud. There wasn't anyone else but myself in there when I was ordering. The employee girls were loud amongst themselves. The customers you mentioned were there when I walked back in to check the menu and I walked back outside. Nothing suspicious about that. You've just lost a customer and who knows word of mouth is a good or bad thing. But hey your girls can do no wrong. Security cameras? As I said I've been coming there for years and all of the sudden I'm making this up out of the blue. Screw You!

It's been awhile so I stopped in this morning on the way to the beach with my little girl. Ambiance was a bit awkward and rushed today, even though there was barely anyone inside. I ordered a smoothie and a few of the little treats, those are normally my favorite. The smoothie tasted good and I shared it was my little girl. The treats were okay. The peanut butter and the express yo self both tasted pretty fresh. The brownie batter had a really sour flavor. I will have to give this place another try in the future, something was definitely off today.

First time visiting & it won't be my last :)…read more Staff was very friendly & welcomed me with a smile. This cafe serves breakfast & lunch with a variety of drinks. The ambiance is moody with plenty of seating for large groups or for people on their own. There's tables, chairs & couches placed all around the cafe & everything was clean. I saw plenty of patrons on their computers working & two groups having meetings with colleagues. The music was relaxing and low enough to have conversations. i decided to dine-in and when you order at the register they give you a number to bring your order to you. I got a Vanilla latte & a Sunrise croffle. Both of my items were very good and I was impressed with the Croffle, it was a delight with the honey & green onions added a nice balance of flavor. One thing I would like to note is my coffee arrived much earlier than my food. I'm not a sipper- I wish I could be! If there's a way to time the drinks & food order so there it isn't a big wait in between I think it would make my experience impeccable, I overheard another couple saying the same thing. I also overheard them saying their food was super good too! Just something to mention. Overall, a wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back with friends ^.^

DO NOT PATRON THIS BUSINESS!…read more My friend and I decided to meet there and give it a try. I arrived first. I walked in, and I had to say hello first, to which the jerk with the facial hair just looked me up and down and raised his eyebrows (no verbal response). I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt (even though he didn't deserve it) because he was helping a guest who was ahead of me in line. That is, until THAT witch turned around and gave me a rude, judgmental look. So when my friend came in, I turned to her and said "we need to find someplace else," and we immediately left. When we exited, I explained what I had experienced, and my friend looked up the business, and showed me that they were a "Christian" establishment... I was immediately disgusted; not by the Christian aspect, but by the fact that this was yet another business that claims to be Christian while standing in judgment and scorn towards their NEW neighbors as customers. I identify as Christian, myself, and I patron another local business with the same Christian business model - but this other business is humble and appreciative and welcoming and has been in business for decades as a local favorite. Corner Gate - which is located in a shitty strip next to Little Caesar's and the DOJ probation office - has the nerve to be rude and stuck up as a new business, representing norhing even remotely "Christian." I wouldn't flick a penny at their door, much less spend time or money there, and I encourage everyone else to boycott them also. I went to Boston Coffee down the street, shared my experience with them, and they told me that they had heard similar complaints about Corner Gate. So it's not just me; they are rude to customers (all new) on a regular basis.

Service is quick and friendly. It's a storefront restaurant, in a very old building. Decor is eclectic, sort of a mashup of different genres.
