The symptoms were so obvious that my wife even diagnosed it after quickly looking that it was a bad alternator. After these shade tree mechanics did their inspection, the said that it was 100% a transmission failure. And that to replace would be $4500 in parts and labor. Of course we had our suspicions, so we had it towed from there to our local mechanic in Rockland County. Turns out it was just the alternator after all. $550 for a new alternator with labor included. These guys are either the most stupid, incompetent mechanics on earth or shameless crooks who take advantage of people they think don't know any better. So either way I hope I can pay them back with a warning to you all. To mechanics have a obligation to be fair, honest and ethical. I truly hope I hurt their business. What the did was despicable. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! My daughter is a single mom with a disability. That 4500 vs 550 repair bill was the difference between her giving the car back to the bank vs being able to afford to keep it.

I dropped it off just hoping for a quick inspection. He was very busy which actually made me feel good about the place. He was nice enough to let me leave it and he got to it within a couple of hours. He showed me that the back brake pads needed to be replaced instead of just telling me. It was explained to me in detail what was happening and why with the brakes. In my opinion this a very honest and stand up place of business. I wish I lived closer because I would make this my new go to mechanic.

They have a tow truck and a garage, if you need them, I'm pretty sure you can rely on them. They've been here providing great service as far as I can remember and that's just 24 years from my experience! Of course they take cash or credit and the pumps work the same but heres the kicker; The cash price is the same as Credit. They aren't trying to squeeze you for a little more money. Service Tec spilled engine oil all over engine compartment never cleaned up the mess, returned 3 times before it was properly cleaned. Returned June 2025 for another oil and filter change but before leaving inspected under hood and again found oil all over engine cover and had them clean oil spill. Extremely Sloppy Workers cant trust these people to be competent in their work . These people could not perform a simple oil change I can only imagine how bad they could screw up Major Work on your car. Also noticed I was never sent a Survey after each visit.

When we brought it back, he claimed there's nothing he can do. So we took it to a trusted guy in Fort Lee, NJ and that's when we found out how badly Nigel botched the job. Missing bolts and parts and hoses not hooked back up - total mess. We took him to court and we won, only to have him refuse to pay the court ordered damages and threaten to counter sue. Of course, no court took his claim, and we went back to the court to force his hand in paying. What a nightmare! This place is NO PLACE for anyone not looking to get screwed. Run away!
