Bottom line is that they help out and fix your car when you're in a bind and do a great job of it when you're stuck at the beach and there's nowhere else to go to. And they don't rip you off. Good, honest folks. However... they really need to improve in the communication department. I know they're overwhelmed and they don't have time to explain every thing to every customer but it comes across as unprofessional to most people who are stressed out about their car situation. The work they do is fine, I'm sure. But avoid or limit interaction with the customer service/ front desk ladies at all costs. Very nasty and rude people. They clearly do not care about customers or how they come off toward customers. It's a strange thing to see in 2024.. almost like going back in time. My car was giving me trouble, really didn't know where to go. Tho they couldn't fix what was wrong. They were extremely honest about it. He kept my car for a full day and a half trying to analyze it. At the end he told me to take it to the dealer. You would have thought I'd have paid hundreds of dollars. But it came to under $100. wOW!! Truly a fantastic experience all around. I was having issues with my 2004 Hummer and was expecting a hefty bill to get her back on the road. I was first quoted something just under $800 to my suprise but when I went to pick it up the gentleman said once he got in there he realized it didn't need as much work as he had originally thought and my bill was $360! I was thrilled with the $800 quote but was amazed by his honesty and kindnes. It's a shame two of the one star reviews had not even had work done by the shop. One was simply annoyed they were busy and couldn't get her in right away (her falt for not planning ahead), then the other complained they simply didn't like the way they were handled on the phone. I had the displeasure of speaking to one employee and the owner over the phone. I was trying to contact the auto gallery because they were so sweet and helpful the day before but apparently there used to be a different shop there but it closed down before the auto gallery opened and I somehow managed to find that number instead. "The garage" had apparently bought that number (? To poach the auto gallery's clients?). The first interaction was with a women. W:the garage Me: oh that's strange I can't remember what shop I was at yesterday but it definitely had more words in the name. So idk why the number I used took me here. W: (long pause and with an attitude) okay? It's really not hard to be pleasant I worked in customer service for 15 years.. grow up and act like an adult, not a mopey teen. I'm being pleasant and I'm not even on the clock while in fucking mourning. I looked up the number again on maps, idk why it kept showing jk automotive (previous business must be a glitch in the app). I find the garage to make sure the number is different, it is... so without any other options I try the jk one again.. it's the garage again, the owner answers. Man: the garage (far more upbeat so I was hopeful) Me: hi I'm confused I'm trying to get ahold of a shop I went to on savannah rd and it keeps directing me to this one.. Man: that's because they shut down so I bought the number Me: if it shut down how was I able to go there yesterday. Man: because they work on cars there, hun. Me: (wanting to scream wtf are you even talking about and don't call me hun) you literally just told me they shut down. Man: yes and another place bought the location. Me: ‍can I just have the number of the new place please. Man: (says number as fast as he can) Me: can you slow down I have to open my notes app Man: (says a few numbers and pauses, then attempts to poach me while being just as pedantic as he's been the entire convo) Moral of the story don't act like a dickhead or have employees acting like dickheads on the phone. You never know who's on their last straw before a Yelp review, cus I really never do but nope I'm not gonna be disrespected twice in the first few min interaction with a place without letting other people know. Needed some help with car that wouldn't start -- in a pinch. They spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem -- and didn't charge me because they couldn't find the problem (it was actually a rear light that was remaining on and discharging the battery. If I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would. I called 2 legitimate tire shops on my way to Rehoboth, asking if I could get a tire serviced that had holes in it. They told me I'd have to wait almost a week. I called the Garage and asked them if I could drop if off, and they said, "well, you can, but you could also wait 5 minutes and we can fix it when you arrive." And that's exactly what happened. 7/20/19 7/19/19 Driving from CT to LEWES, DE during the heat wave and the air conditioner broke down 170 miles from arriving. Came to the garage before the shop opened on 7/20/19. It's a Saturday. Luckily for my family the team at the garage saved the day. They were able to get all parts and install them the same day! Meanwhile, my family and I spent an awesome day swimming in the ocean while the work took place. The service rendered and price was fair. Its a pleasure to share a satisfied customer experience. The outside temp when I got my car back was 103. After about 10 minutes of driving, the air temp inside the car was almost obnoxiously cold. Absolutely amazing performance due to the heat and humidity outside. We are going to enjoy the 6 hour car ride home Monday during this epic heat wave ! Thanks for saving my trip ! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! I've never been treated so wrongly and rudely. I spoke with a worker to set up an appointment and left the call satisfied with the plan to call back in a couple of days. When I did just that I was completely talked down to, told I couldn't be seen until August and that there was nothing I could be helped with. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Can't say enough good stuff about our experience here. Check engine light came on 15 miles outside of Rehoboth, called a couple of places looking to see if they could fit us in just to pull the codes, and the Garage was the only place to say they would help us out. Once we got there, Rob and Robert were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable; Robert ran the diagnostic and was straightforward and honest about our options, including a reasonable timeline for scheduled work, but also that we could definitely drive home if we needed to. After driving to Rehobeth with a bike rack attached to our rental car, the trunk wouldn't close. When I brought the car to The Garage, they took a look and determined that the bike rack had dented the fender and shifted the top of the trunk out of alignment. In about fifteen minutes they'd muscled the trunk back into place and they didn't charge me a dime. I'd give these guys ten stars if I could. Just recently I took my vehicle to "The Garage" for a simple oil change. Unfortunately the tech that changed the oil forgot to reinstall the oil filter correctly. Due to his lack of concern to detail I now have a car with no oil, no filter and a garage floor stained with oil. This is the second time this has occurred. 2.5 hours ($100/hr) labor charged to change a headlight bulb on a Buick Enclave. They had the gall to tell my husband that they had to take the bumper off to change the bulb. You do NOT take a bumper off to change a headlight bulb. The access is through the wheel well. I've done it before, myself. This time decided I didn't have the time to do it. They never called with an estimate....just said " it's done"......and charged 2.5 hours labor FOR A BULB REPLACEMENT. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN. read more

I was visiting Rehoboth over the holidays and heard a funny sound coming from under my car. It sounded like the heat shield was rattling around and being that I was driving back to Boston on New Year's eve day, I called around on Monday to see if I could get it fixed. They were the only place willing to see me asap and got it fixed in a half hour! They were super friendly, helpful, accommodating and I'm so appreciative that they were able to squeeze me in. This is the worst business in Rehoboth Beach Lewes Dewey Beach free check engine light problems my Jeep is under warranty and all I have to do is take it to the Jeep dealership then when I went to go pick up the car he try to charge me $150 what happened to the free test light stuff believe me I will never never go back to this guy again and we were going to give him a lot of business we at we own 3 cars and someone told us he was somewhat honest but the guy literally talk to my wife on the phone and use the f bomb on my wife what a way to run a business center I guess he was just mad that he couldn't charge us for the work that had to be done on the Jeep when he knew it was under warranty but he's the one that lost a lot of business from me and a lot of friends that are also down here the star rating is really minus 5 read more

My mechanic was Rob, he was not only efficient but he was extremely reasonable when it came to payment. I was vacationing in Rehoboth when my car died at a stop light off Route 1. I was towed by AAA to The Garage. I explained that I needed to leave town the next day. They diagnosed the car correctly, ordered the parts overnight, and had the car ready before noon the next day -- all at a reasonable cost.
