Rehoboth Auto Repair - Hero of the day! - Tires Near Me - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

My son's car's brakes went out while visiting. We had it towed to Rehoboth Auto Repair and they were able to order the parts (Volvo) quickly and get it fixed at fair prices. Their customer service is wonderful and they do outstanding work. They had earned my trust long ago, now they have my son's! PS The review name says I am from California, but I have lived in Delaware for 5 years. read more

On vacation in Dewey Beach, DE, and scheduled to leave the next day to return to Northern VA. When loading items in the car, the back hatch on my Subaru Forester wouldn't open or close (lock) properly. Drove (carefully) to Rehoboth Auto to see if they could help/fix the problem. I didn't have an appointment or call ahead, so was keeping my fingers crossed. The mechanic was able to re-set the system in less than 10 minutes. What a lifesaver! Thanks to everyone at Rehoboth Auto for taking care of this so quickly. I can now drive home safely. If you are in the area and have car issues, I highly recommend Rehoboth Auto. read more

At Rehoboth Auto repair they know their stuff! and they're friendly and helpful to boot! I stopped by for a simple service (my second experience there) and learned a great deal more about to keep my car in great condition. thanks , Mike! No one wants to have car trouble in the first place, but if you do, I highly recommend. read more

I note that my previous review was done when the business was under prior ownership. Their prices are now at a level that I will check with the dealer first. My last price for a routine service (oil change/filters, etc.) seemed very high. Prices have gone up everywhere, but at this point dealer service is definitely an option. read more

I experienced unexpected car issues as I arrived into town for a few day trip to Rehoboth Beach. After doing a quick search for reputable mechanics, I drove straight to their repair shop. It was late afternoon and the parking lot was full. However, the office team member immediately went to the service area and asked a gentleman to test drive my car to assess the issue. I rode with him and they were able to hear the issue I was describing. He put it on the lift immediately and saw that I needed brake pads. Turns out he was not "just" a mechanic but the GM, Mike. He said they were booked until early the following week, but would try to get it done sooner. The next day I was sent a text link for a detailed quote including the repair and recommended areas to address. Their software is wonderful, as it showed photos of what the technicians observed during the inspection and allows customers to accept/decline each line item. I was able to get the repairs completed sooner than expected (before my trip concluded). Each team member was considerate and helpful. I have recommended them to others who travel to the area for vacation or have homes in the area. read more

I had them redo my brakes twice and not even a year later I have to pay another $1,500 to have them done correctly.

I have no idea what quality this place provides, but I do know that they gouged my elderly father. He took his car in every 6 months for regular maintenance. The last time, I took it in for him and was given a list of repairs that they deemed necessary. A second opinion from the mechanic I use indicated that there were few repairs needed and the ones that were concerns were done for a fraction of the cost. read more

In a recent family trip to Rehoboth Beach I realize I had some car trouble, but wasn't quite sure what the problem was. Something was dragging and hanging from beneath my car. I found Rehobeth Auto Repair on the Internet and decided to drive there in the morning. I was met with in the parking lot to friendly service. I was seen right away And. Also was told I have to stop hitting curbs Lol. And the staff was friendly and efficient. Please give them a try. read more

I had a leaky tire due to a nail in the exterior part; the manager was booked with service work but went out of his way to fix the problem. I did not expect that kind of service to be provided to a tourist . I had several children in my car and it would have been a nightmare if he was too busy to help. Highly recommend his services to anyone in need. read more

I brought my 2003 Honda Accord to Rehoboth Auto Repair to replace my rear brake pads and fix a leak. I picked up the car and proceeded to drive north on Coastal Highway. As I approached the first light, I had to press the brake pedal down to the floor, and there was a loud noise as I did so. The car took an inordinate amount of time to stop, and I almost rearended the car directly in front of me at the light. Something was seriously wrong with the brakes, and they clearly were not replaced properly, and the car was dangerous to drive. Normally, all I have to do is touch the brake pedal softly, and the car will stop. I drove home frightened the entire way that I would have an accident. I called Mike at Rehoboth Auto and told him the situation. I emphasized how dangerous driving the car is and that I almost had a serious accident. He did not seem to appreciate that I almost had a serious accident. He picked up the car at my home, took it to the shop and kept it for four hours and then called me to say the car was repaired. The bill for the repairs to my car was $3,150. I told Mike that I expected him to deduct $500 from the bill because of the faulty repair of the brakes and poor service. He said he provided excellent service and refused to deduct anything from the bill. I told him he did not provide me with excellent service because the brakes were not functioning properly, and I almost had an accident. Excellent service, I stated, is when I pick up my car, drive it from the shop and it drives properly and safely. That was clearly not my experience! I will not patronize Rehoboth Auto in the future and will inform my friends and relatives of the faulty repair to my car and the company's terrible customer service. What was particularly galling to me was that Mike seemed completely unconcerned that I almost had a serious car accident. read more

I dealt with Mike Peterson at Rehoboth Auto Repair and he was very reliable and professional. I would highly recommend them.

What a decent and kind crew! They helped me with what should've been a simple license plate mount (but wasn't) and offered someone on another matter out of kindness. I will be back. read more

Rehoboth Auto has been servicing my cars. I do shop to confirm they are competitive pricing. They are. However they have caused damage to one of my cars during repair but they fixed it. I took one car in for an issue. I paid to have it repaired. Got it back and it was still broken. Took it back. They fixed what was really the original issue but would not refund me for the work they did in error. Although that instance still bothers me, for the most part they are reliable and competitively priced. Two issues out of 8 years and three cars is not bad. They are also great with communication. read more

The rear deck on my ML350 wouldn't open or close by the "button" Made an appointment and within the hour got an estimate for the repair. I know they only use OEM parts which is a good thing. Approved repair and picked up the car 330 the next day. Everyone were true professionals in interacting with me through this whole process. I had my SL55 serviced here last season and was just as impressed then as I was with this recent repair. they will continue to see my cars for future repairs. read more

Very impressed with this auto repair business. Google showed them as closing at 6 but they close at 5.30. I called after 5 to ask if they would check the engine light code for my daughter's 20 year-old car and said she would arrive at 5.35. Mike said yes and promptly checked and reassured her that the car was safe to drive. A very honest and customer focused business. Highly recommended! read more

My family has been a customer and the shop has done quality work for decades. Prices are reasonable and customer service is wonderful.

I've had a few issues that I had to take my car to them on an emergency basis, and even when they couldn't take care of it right away because of other appointments, they were informative and did what they could. When they could do the work they let me know the issues, and in one case loaned me one of their batteries when it was gonna take a while to get mine, I had gone to them because they are nearby but also because they had a lot of good recommendations including some from friends, so I'm happy to pass mine along as well. read more

John K. Have been coming to Rehoboth Auto Repair for 20 years and couldn't ask for better service: car ready when promised, no hidden costs, outstanding repair work, top-notch mechanics, reasonably priced. If your vehicle needs help, Rehoboth Auto Repair is the place to do the job. read more

This place is good with scheduling. Clean, nice staff. They have no competition within miles and the traffic can make it seem even further away. I've had 2 oil changes in the past few months. Both the same synthetic oil, same filter (it's a diesel so it's more expensive). It was $50 less expensive at Jiffy Lube, plus there was an additional $25 rebate (can't count on that one). I always want to support small businesses but don't take advantage of me. read more

Fair, honest, reliable and efficient I am pleased with the work they performed in a timely manner.

EDIT-2: I've been meaning to update this review for some time now. Initially I had a negative experience here as a first time customer. The car got pretty well scratched and the problem I brought it in for wasn't initially resolved, that said they called me after the negative review and had me bring the car back up. Their main tech had a look at the car and did a lifter adjustment, and boom. The car runs like a champ. I've also since buffed the scratches out and really I was just looking to get the car running right. Happy to say overall I had a good experience with the team there. Would definitely recommend their shop to others. EDIT-1: I'm updating my review because I got a call from the manager specifically about my review. It's good to hear they are keeping an eye on client feed back. I will say the work they did was great and not unnecessary. It's an older car and the previous owner did not take the best care of it. While they did scratch the car, which I'm still not thrilled about, it is an old beater of a car, and I'm not going to bust chops because I think it should buff out some. They offered to take the car back in next weekend and actually diagnose the rough idle, and stalling I initially reported and would make it right. Original review: Honestly a little bit disappointed overall. I brought my car in for a general bumper-to-bumper inspection and specifically to have an idling issue fixed not only did they not fix the idle I ended up leaving with about $2300 worth of repairs a big old scratch on my door, and they never fixed the idle issue that I asked them to check on in the first place. So generally speaking wouldn't recommend. read more

As a visitor and vacation to the beach area, I found myself with a flat tire 4 o'clock in the afternoon after calling 14 different places and getting either a cold shoulder no answer a you have to leave your car for two days or just a simple message that says were too short staff to accept any new business. I called Rehobeth auto repair. At 4 o'clock in the afternoon and they close at five the service person said if you could be here before 430. We will take care of you. I was in they did really recommend this place. It's Customer Service is amazing. read more

For over 10 years, my family has been blessed by Rehoboth Auto Repair! Chuck and his team are amazing! Thoughtful, excellent work with very fair and transparent pricing. Super communication too. Last Friday, my husband and I hit an animal, damaging the front of our Tesla. The Rehoboth Auto Repair team did an excellent job in re-securing our dragging front bumper cover so that we could still use the car until the parts arrive mid-January. And they did a typical superb job on the annual service and tire rotation, too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you, Chuck and team! read more

We had previously been a good customer with several years of business and loyalty but our recent service experience regarding the replacement of the exhaust on our 2007 mdx was a huge disappointment. The main issue is that the radiator was damaged during the installation and the owner was very clear about taking the responsibility for the delay and covering the cost of replacing the damaged part. After paying the bill I realized that we were charged for the radiator and upon challenging the bill I was presented with a story that we had an agreement that they would cover the labor and I would pay for the radiator that the mechanic damaged. I realize we are all overworked and times are tough, but the relationship and honesty are worth more than the $400 portion of a total bill of $3100. David L. read more
