Immersive Gamebox - Lower East Side

Lower East Side

Loved it! I visited…read moreImmersive Gamerbox a while back. It is located in Lower Manhattan on Delancy Street. I was thrilled to invite my friends to play. I went here about two or three times, and it was fun. They have a great selection of games you can book on their website. Definitely recommend anyone who wants to find something fun to play with friends and family. It is also a great place for children to play with their families. The workers are friendly and willing to provide you with instructions on how to use their immersive game room before the time starts. I look forward to new games in the future.

This was the most frustrating waste of money. Use your funds to buy a Switch and stay home…read more We did Sandbox VR and that was epic - another better option. The space is too small for a group of more than two people to move around. Even with two people you keep ramming into each other because of how the games are designed. The video was messed up and we "fell" in game even when there were no holes in the floor. We kept hoping it would stop sucking and it just got worse with the Floor is Lava. The game design meant we couldn't all play at once even though there was a time limit for all three player to finish. My kid stopped halfway through and just didn't want to play any more...I mean, that tells you everything. Note that the game doesn't project on the floor (which they do in Sandbox) so it also doesn't feel fully immersive. So between the overall design and the failed technology, it was a fail. Please note that the staff was great. They were accommodating and told us we should have just let them know sooner. We just thought maybe it would get more fun, and couldn't have predicted the glitchy tech.

Space VR Queens Center - Immersive virtual reality rides

Space VR is a kiosk on the 3rd Fl of the Queens Center Mall. It offers virtual reality games with…read morea headset and handheld controllers (for 2 people), simulation rides on a motion chair (for 4 people) or car simulator (for 2). Pricing is per person/game starting at $11 a game, up to $29 for 3. Since it is open to people traffic, you can watch customers while they are playing a game or on a ride. Because of this, I think the per game/ride pricing is fine (unlike some VR game places which have pricing by the hour). Also, if you/your child just want to try how it is, it's not too much $ for a little time off from shopping. About the games, there is a limited amount to choose from. My sons thought their game was ok but was supposed to have audio, instead had subtitles. We didn't ask how many minutes a game is and didn't time it, but my son felt like it was about 10 minutes and was just stopped by the staff member, who was nice and patient. Didn't see a "walk the plank" game I wanted to try again so I picked a roller coaster ride. I asked for a scary one to see how the scenery was via the headset - was just ok, video quality could be better in color and be clearer. The motion chair moved a little. I've seen other people screaming while on these rides but for me, of course it doesn't feel like real coaster ride (which I love) so I was kind of quiet, but it was a longer ride than real ones. Also, didn't notice but would like to know how they clean the headsets between customer use.

Went to Sandbox VR and I'm not gonna lie this experience was fire. If you're into gaming or just…read morewant to try something different with friends or family, this is definitely a spot you should check out. Everything was very organized from the start. The staff walks you through the whole process, gets you geared up with the VR equipment, and explains how the game works before you jump in. Once the game starts, it really feels like you're inside the action. You can see the people in your group, move around freely, and work together during the mission. Way more realistic than regular VR. Felt like I was fighting for my life. I went with a group of 5 and we had a great time. It definitely brings out everyone's competitive side. The staff was cool but the only thing that pissed me off was the drive to Jersey made us late because of the traffic so we was 15 mins late. They wouldn't take us so we had to come back hours later. I was pissed..helpful the entire time. Also a downside is it goes by quick, but that's mainly because you're having so much fun. Overall, it's a great experience.

I had an amazing time at Sandbox VR this past weekend. As a party of two, we registered for an…read moreearly timeslot to play their newest game, Rebel Moon. When we arrived we found that we were the only ones there besides the workers, but honestly, we didn't mind being among the first players to arrive (it made us feel like VIPs.) After signing in, a staff member took us aside and began positioning sensors on both our wrists and ankles. He then began to provide more details about VR. The young man who assisted us was professional, well-organized, and communicated all instructions efficiently. He gradually began to place our headsets on and we were off to explore this new world. It did take a few minutes to adjust to everything that we were seeing. This experience was thrilling and quite intense. Lots of ducking, shooting, and occasional screaming, which made for a delightful afternoon of fun. One thing I would suggest is making sure all equipment works beforehand. Unfortunately, my gun wasn't working in the very beginning, and there were times when we experienced technical difficulties during our game, and had to ask for assistance. Of course, this can dampen the experience because it interrupts the flow of the game, but we had a blast nonetheless. Be advised, you will work up a sweat, so wear appropriate clothing- nothing tight, heavy, or that can restrict movement! This was a fantastic date with my love and we can't wait to come back and try more VR games with our family and friends.

The experience lasted for 45 mins total but I do wish it was longer. Overall it was a fun game, you experience multiple rooms as a Goblin through VR. The staff is there to assist you throughout when you're stuck on parts of the puzzle. Some of the downsides were the headset audio not being loud enough. You can hear everyone else's VR experiences around you which can distract and make it hard for you to hear things clearly in the game.

I had booked the Mission Galaxy Rescue Escape experience on Saturday evening, November 23rd for a…read moreparty of 13 people. During the event, we ran into several major issues that completely ruined the experience. To list them: - Objectives were skipped or were not working properly - The interactivity between the rooms was not working - One of the rooms did not initialize properly and it required the entire event to be restarted midway through (This can be seen in one of the uploaded photos, the indicator lights showing where we were in regards to the completion of the room was already lit up to 3 out of the 4 lights when we had first entered) To expand on the last point, a room was stuck in a glitched state that did not register our actions, particularly during the wiring objective (This can be seen in two of the uploaded photos, I included the correct wiring as well as the correct wiring guide). We had attempted to contact staff during this time and the speakers were too quiet to have a conversation and explain that something was wrong. It took several minutes to get a staff member to help us, and several more to reset the room again. The staff member did what he could to assist us and that we appreciate, however the solution to "make-up" the lost time was to get handheld during the remainder of the experience. I hope this is clear enough to say that for a $694.28 experience, two rooms being glitchy with one needing a full reset is unacceptable. The employee had stated that some credit can be given due to the severity of the issues, however I was not looking for credit given the circumstances. He gave us an email to contact the manager of this business for a refund. I had emailed the provided email address as well as the one connected to a feedback link three times now with no answer. It has been about 2 weeks without any response. Extremely disappointing experience, I would not go again and am actively looking to for a refund. I only wish I could find a way to get back the wasted hour of my life.
