Retro artifacts is a cool retro video game spot a hop outside the Knoxville area. Not only do they…read morehave 80s - 90's video games (nes, snes, saga, ps1) they also have computer games, board games, cds, and vintage collectible items that will surely make your collectors knees shake. The owner/storekeeper was super nice and talkative and had a very good knowledge of his inventory. While it had rained recently here and the store seemed to be in a bit of disrepair the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Setting this store apart from other retro game stores were its vintage movie paraphernalia collection complete with an autographed John Goodman big Lebowski framed poster. Super cool!! Retro Artifacts gets five stars because: 1) super helpful and friendly staff 2) chill location 3) diverse collection ranging from media to games 4)movie paraphernalia collection 5) reasonable prices

Inside you will find all kinds of toys, trading cards, video games, board games and comics. For the common items, you will more than likely find a better deal elsewhere but this is a great place to try to locate that diamond in the rough. There are plenty of items from the 70s through this year, so no matter you mood it should be easy to walk out with something you like.

Decided to try this year for the vegan chef challenge just to see if there might be something I could eat or maybe I'd be wild and ask for the sandwich without the bread. Imagine my SHOCK when I saw gluten free bread on the regular vegan menu and asked if the GF bread was also vegan!! (Spoiler alert: it IS!) This now opens up a world of options, and more reasons to come back regularly. They have an EXTENSIVE vegan menu, and both soups offered the day I was there were vegan. The cashier told us there's a pub downstairs, with different vegan menu items. It's attached to a bookstore and has a homey, comfy feel. It's the kind of place you feel you could hang out in all day and no one would complain. The cashier was BEYOND helpful and friendly and made several recommendations for things to try in the future. The only bad thing is I wasted a year not trying this place. I'll need to make up for that!

My 80-year-old grandmother has been a resident of this facility since 2022. During that time, her…read moremonthly rent has increased repeatedly, yet a serious ongoing maintenance issue has remained unresolved for over a year. The HVAC system in her room has consistently failed to provide reliable heating and air conditioning. Despite numerous complaints and maintenance requests, management has continued to implement only temporary repairs that typically fail within hours rather than addressing the underlying problem. Most recently, the temperature in her room reached 80°F, which is higher than the outdoor temperature. For an elderly resident, prolonged exposure to these conditions raises significant concerns regarding health, safety, and quality of care. Additionally, we have been informed that other residents on the same floor have experienced similar HVAC issues, and that some families ultimately removed their loved ones from the facility due to the ongoing lack of resolution. After more than a year of unsuccessful attempts to have this matter properly addressed, we are exploring all available avenues to ensure accountability, including contacting regulatory agencies, legal counsel, and local media outlets. Residents and their families deserve safe living conditions, timely maintenance, and management that prioritizes resident well-being over cost-saving measures. We hope the facility will take immediate action to permanently resolve these issues before additional residents are affected.

We found nursing to be both caring and as attentive as they could be. There nursing staff is stretched. At times only one charge nurse was tasked with manning both floors. That's simply asking too much of a RN charge nurse! CNA staff is a mixed review with some being so very kind. (Narmalla sp?) is one of the best. She did her job very well while others do not. There is a male nurse who is lazy at best, and even a female nurse who equally lacks. The other nurses are pretty great, Mikah and Rhianna specifically, and to save the best for last............. BEN. If the nurses of the world had his patience, care, and attention to detail, well the patients in the world would not dread being ill quite so much. Thank you Ben! Shoutout to the housekeeping department! They keep the facility very clean. We looked into the senior living next door and made a comment about how clean both facilities are. Evidently both are managed by the same people. The food is good. It's not always hot. The kitchen staff are not to blame as we observed they aren't permitted to pass the trays to patients. It taxes the nursing staff to be responsible for that as well. Not sure if that's a facility decision or not. We absolutely recommend Morning View Transitional Care.
