Nice, comfortable comic shoppe right off Kingston Pike. Plenty of parking around back, where the shoppe is actually located. Typical wall of keys, recent and back issues around the shoppe. But what I enjoyed, and where I found something cool, was in the long boxes under the back issues that had the new releases, chronological by week, for the last 16 months or so. Each box was labeled by the calendar date. I grabbed a #1 from Oct '24 & a missed subscription indie from Feb '24. I passed on but also found a missed variant from last week that my LCS didn't pull for me. Down side was the dude at the counter sat there and had a casual conversation with a customer while I stood there waiting to check out for a good 3 solid minutes before someone else showed up and rang me up where the guy was seated. I WAS greeted when I arrived and found some decent options, but I also felt like I wasn't necessarily noticed. read more

While vacationing for the 4th , my son and I are always on the hunt for new comic book lcs. We googled shops near are location and came across nirvana comics. BEST LCS we have come across in 3 states period!! I mean friendly staff , comic selection was amazing from new releases to silver/bronze ect... One of the staff members was setting up a box for a con next week and he stopped what he was doing and let me go through them !!! That kinda service is pretty much non existent. read more

Worst comic shop I have ever been too. Selection was mediocre, staff was unprofessional. There are much better shops in the area.

There isn't better customer service that you'll find anywhere else. Grant, Jasmine, McKay, and the rest of the staff are the most helpful and knowledgeable people to make sure you get what you're looking for. They always go the extra mile for their customers. Best comic book shop I've ever been to. read more

I came here because the owner will whine on Google Reviews if you don't kiss his butt on there. The cashier IS rude as other people have been saying and they get very judgemental if you don't look like their 'usual customer.' Like I said on Google Reviews, shop online. Go where you're celebrated not tolerated. read more

Great owners and staff. The store is set up in a way to make it easy to find books by company or type. The place has fun decor making it nice to walk through. No gatekeeping at this shop. If you are a seasoned reader or someone new they will welcome you. read more

This comic store was about 200 miles from my home and my wife and I stopped in while passing through the area. There were several staff working and the one guy we dealt with was very helpful and knowledgeable. I saw a review that they were high priced, but I thought they were reasonable. Their graded books might have been a bit on the high side, but the raw Amazing Spider-man 361 I bought was high grade and under market price, by my research. I witnessed other staff dealing with other customers and they were treated well, in my opinion. In closing, I was impressed enough with this store that I plan to make the trip to go back again. read more

RUDE and INAPPROPRIATE. I will never set foot in this store. After apologizing for the confusion and politely moving my car, the manger or owner would not stop berating my pregnant wife because of a parking space. Go elsewhere or order off of Amazon. The computer will be more professional. read more

Extremely rude. Under the guise of being helpful, the clerk was just plain mean. AVOID.

I'll keep it short-ish and sweet. These guys will try to gaslight any negative reviews anyway. Believe the one-stars. This place is a scam that will charge your card for services never rendered. I've seen several others on here explaining their version of exactly what I went through a couple years back. They'll take your card info, charge it for nothing, and give you the runaround when you try to get any info from them. I'll let prospective consumers make their own mind up. Either there's a cabal of people all determined to tank this small business with unrelated complaints of the same scam, or... hear me out here... they're just a bunch of (admittedly talented) scam artists. I trust you're world-wise enough to figure out the truth, dear reader. Excelsior! read more

Dude was nice and hella helpful, dog was super nice also... took a selfie w it and everything... im from out of town... i told the guy and he even gave me dinning suggestions... tf more could i ask for... GJ ty :) read more

Friendly staff, great selection of new comics, good selection of back-issues, but way, WAY overpriced on older key issues. Seriously, most were 2x-4x over price guide (CBR, CPG, & even CBSI), so be very careful & know what you're shopping for, otherwise you'll seriously overpay. Also watch condition, as they don't grade any of the vintage comics they're selling, with the exception of the CGC comics they sell (which all seemed to be at least 2x over guide). The prices are also NOT well labeled, with a tiny, faded tag on the back of the comic, if they're even labeled AT ALL. If you just want new comics, these guys have what you're looking for, and if you need a couple comics to finish a run, they probably will have those too. BUT know that you're probably going to pay a LOT for key issues, even more than ebay in most cases. I know because I was comparing while I was shopping and had to do several double-takes. Ex. Alias #1 (1st Jessica Jones) in Very Fine for $130??? That's a $50 comic nearly everywhere else. read more

This store has abysmal business practices. Also, pricing policy is extremely opaque for most of the comics. Additionally, employees and management are very condencending to customers. Highly suggest avoiding this comic book store, and giving your business to one of the comic stores in Knoxville that is actually good. read more

As a monthly subscriber at Nirvana comic store you get discount on comic books, but must purchase 7 books monthly and give store your credit card number " in case you don't pick up your comic books ". The store will charge your credit card weekly even though they tell you that it's " our policy and will only charge your card if you don't pick up your books ". Well if coming into store every two to three weeks to pick up books and the books aren't a special order, they will charge your card plus charge you for comic books you don't have on your pull/subscription list " because they feel you might like them ". Then tell you no refund pick out some other comic books. There is no clear standard policy for window of picking up books, one week or two weeks or monthly. They don't understand that some customers have a life and don't visit a store weekly for a comic book. I don't mind being charged for special order books, but if your charged for books you didn't order, or their subscription policy is unclear correct the problem and be honest about policy. The manager says " we require your card only if you don't pick up your books and then charge you ". Not true!!!! In addition, if your monthly pull subscription list books are key comics, the store instead of giving book to subscribers will mark up comic with a white sticker price and sell on book shelf. As a monthly subscriber your entitled to your books requested, in great condition, your order filled first before books are sold to non subscriber customers the manager tells you. Not true! Customers tell me that as a monthly subscriber you only pay cover price of book minus your 25 % discount. Well if that's true, why is the manger giving the discount to only certain subscribers, not all. Is this legal? In addition, I've been over charged on my credit card. " LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPTS " !!!! Bottom line: if your shopping at this store check your receipt for over pricing, speak up and don't let them rip you off at the register. Don't give them your credit card info and expect " hot, key comic books to be in your monthly subscription pull box. Manager and owner come across as friendly and honest, but I assure you, they are skilled car salesman, can't be trusted and business ethics are shocking. Owner states their policies are consistent and straightforward/fair, not open to change and in denial. read more

THIS PLACE IS VALHALLA FOR NERDS. Seriously though. The the staff is super nice and knowledgeable. They have THE largest selection of back issues (dating back to the Golden Age) and graphic novels in the region. They offer a dynamite subscription service at a discount. They are totally inclusive and honest to goodness make sure that EVERYONE feels welcome. It's most definitely the best comic shop in the Knoxville area. read more

Best comic shop in the Knoxville area, and I've frequented all of them at some point. Richard is the nicest dude around, he really knows his stuff, and he bends over backwards to make you feel welcome in the store. They carry everything from the "Big Two," but their unbeatable selection of indies is what won me over. Every time I've dealt with any of the other staff members I've been treated with the same amazing service as when I deal with Richard himself. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment. read more

Very friendly new comic book store. Good selection, and staff is knowledgeable. He was great with his adult customers but also with our 10 year old comic book fan. Shop is located behind Soccer Taco on the back side of the strip mall, next to Sandra G's alterations. read more

These folks had nearly every comic that I was looking for...in storage. Still, I'm excited and appreciative that the owner is willing to take my list of needed comic books and then ship me a giant box to my home. This, along with the fact that they have a neat and well-organizes stock, brings them to four stars. My only "gripe" is that he store is tough to find (drive to the BACK of the shopping plaza) as we passed it a few times before finding it. FYI that Safari gives one street address while Google Maps gives another road - go with Safari! read more

This dude is a crook. This is one of those comic shops where they look up the book at checkout to see what the price on it is, regardless of what the price tag says. This dude told me he was having a back issue sale of buy 3, get one free. So I pick out 4 comics and go up to checkout & he immediately marks the price up on 2 of the books. He didn't look up anything. I watched him. And then he tells me, "you're even getting one free!" Adding up the price tags on all 4 books is still cheaper than what he charged me for them. Freakin' thief. Then, he tries to sell me on joining his filing service, which requires me to LEAVE MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION WITH HIM. I have been buying comics for 15 years. I have NEVER seen a filing system like that. There's no way I would trust that guy with my credit card info after that business. There are many other comic shops in Knoxville. All of which are better than Nerdvana. read more

My cousin told me about an Amazing Spiderman #1 CGC graded the owner of Nerdvana told him about. I called and talked to the owner. He told me it was a CGC book 7.5. I bought it over the phone and when it came in the mail I was surprised. It was a PGC graded book which is not nearly as reliable instead of CGC, and it was restored which he did not mention in the call, or to my cousin. The person who he got it from told me Nerdvana's owner knew it was restored. Neglecting to disclose that information is either dishonesty, or incompetence, and telling me it was CGC instead of PGX as a comic book store owner shows either a problem in ethics or knowledge. In my ex-change of texts with him he did not deny he knew it was restored or that it was PGX graded. read more
