The selection was really good, lots of old school records ranging from $1-$60 depending on the artist. The people working were very kind and happy to help with whatever questions. I stopped here on my road trip through TN. They have a good selection of new and used. when I went in on Tuesday afternoon there were quite a few people there. I was able to find some deals on a few used records and the new records were reasonably priced. it's a smaller store but seems like everything was easy to find. read more

They also have a $1 rack which was nice to browse for someone like me, who is new to the record scene. I visit Knoxville every year and I always make a point of stopping by Lost & Found Records. It's about 10 minutes from downtown with convenient parking. The place has a warm, inviting feel to it. The guy at the counter is always friendly and helpful. The store is laid out well and records are easy to shop for. (category, genre, etc) What I like most are the prices. Most of the LPs are in the 7-10 dollar range. Their condition is usually excellent to near-mint. 45's are priced well too. This is a store I can spend an hour or two browsing, and the prices are more than fair. This place "gets it." They would rather turn over product than try to sell a 5 dollar album for $20 on the off-chance a tourist stops by. I'll be back again! **My only suggestion....make the $1 and $2 albums easier to shop. After crawling on my knees for 5 minutes I get frustrated and move on. Maybe put them in boxes, on a table on the front porch. You will definitely move them if you make it easier to dig. read more

Best record store in Knoxville and best I've personally been to anywhere! I 9/10 come away with one or two records from here everytime I go. Which is usually every other week or so! Such a great selection of used and new at great prices. The Hip-Hop and Metal sections could perhaps be a little better, but I can't really complain since I've bought plently from both genres here in the past. Not only the best record store in Knoxville, but easily one of the best in the southeast. They have a great selection in blues, jazz, 50s - 70s era rock, obscure 80s stuff (mainly punk/new wave), classic country, some funk and southern artists of all genres from the 70s & 80s. No, this is not the record store to find newer stuff or much in the way of rap, electronic or dance music, but what they do have is a fantastic selection in the eras that they know best. All that said, my favorite part about Lost and Found is the staff. Maria is super nice and Nathan knows a ton about music and has great taste in the more obscure stuff. As for the reviewer below that accuses this place of being "hipster douchebag city," it should be obvious from her writing who the real elitist is. read more

If they don't have the record you're looking for, they would be more than happy to try and find it for you! I remember hanging out at "Sound Warehouse" in Houston as a teen. I love this place! Extremely friendly local staff who are will actually put you down for requests for something you want, but they don't have. Constantly changing stock, and what great stock for a small business. I DO SO PREFER to shop small and local! I don't usually "advertise" any business, but yes--I DO have their bumper sticker on my car and wear the absolutely COOL t-shirt that was given to me!!! (AWESOME graphic-LOVE this shirt!) Prices are very good for a small shop and more people should know about them. Atmosphere is very cool being in an actual old house, which I love. It's cozy, casual, laid back and intimate. Loved this place! It's a small/intimate store with a lot of quality vintage vinyl. Found some cool stuff, and the $2 section had some great surprises waiting for me! Great 80's new wave stuff among other genres. I felt very comfortable while crate digging. The lady on the counter was very friendly and super nice with my 10 yr old son, who asked for the wifi; she went through a lot of hassle to recover it, because she didn't remember it. I really appreciate smiling staff who don't mind a little chat, specially when you come from out of town. This place is hipster douchebag city. The cashier and his friend were talking about Nara Leao, Gal Costa, and a bunch of other Tropicalia artists, butchering their names and were generally talking jibberish and saying things like "the hipsters haven't found out about her yet." Uh dudes ..... you are hipsters. In any case, this place is tiny, which isn't necessarily bad, but their selection kinda sucks unless all you care about is rock. And that's really the one genre I've never been interested in. read more

Great shop. I'm not sure who the owner is, but I came here when I was putting together a turntable setup looking for an amplifier. The guy running the shop took the time out to set up different amplifiers for me and spun some records for me to get the feel and sound of each so I could make a decision. As a result I got a harman/kardon amp that sounds great for pretty cheap. Every time I've been in here the people have been super friendly (I'm flabbergasted by reading the "hipster douchebag" comment in another review - I have no idea where that came from but this place is about as far from that as you'll get in a record shop). As far as the actual vinyl selection, seems like they have a lot of good classic rock and jazz. Some country as well. I'd highly recommend it. read more

Went here with my boyfriend who makes music and he was looking for records to be able to sample. They have a great assortment of music and prices range from $1 and up so that no matter what your budget is, you can get something. The albums we got were in the $1 section and we found some classics which was what he was looking for. The quality of the albums even at $1 are good and all have played great. The best record store in town, period. I stop by once a week, on my lunch break, and have never left without a record. Everything is reasonably priced, plenty of great picks for well under $10.00. All of the used records are cleaned well and most appear brand new. In fact, its very common to walk in and see Nathan cleaning another stack of used vinyl. The owners and staff could not be nicer. They treat everyone with a smile, whether you're buying a stack or one $6.00 record.The most comfortable, friendliest shop in town to browse. Make sure to check the "new to store" section more than once during your visit, they may just pop something great in there while you're shopping! read more
