Welcome to the Basement Records Yelp page!! Under new ownership since April 2012, Basement Records offers many of the same collectibles you've come to know over the 25 years the store has been in business. Come browse our extensive selection of new and vintage vinyl, cassettes, CDs, and DVDs, as well as our classic magazines, laser discs, and VHS tapes. We're a buy/sell/trade business store, so come see us if you're looking to sell or trade some of your own collection too.
About the New Owner: Matthew Adkisson is a long-time music enthusiast with his own extensive personal collection--both new and vintage--as well as a dedicated "Rockin' Room" at home where he uses his own vintage stereo equipment to enjoy his favorites. He frequents record stores both near and far, and is committed to refreshing the inventory at Basement Records to ensure that you find something you like. Being a collector himself, he knows how much it means to find the rare gems you need to expand or complete your own collection. He and the staff at Basement Records will do their best to find what you're looking for and will even place special orders for the hard-to-find items!
Note: We no longer buy/sell/trade stamps, coins/currency, and baseball cards.
History
Established in 2012.
April 2012 marks the start of the *new* Basement Records, where we began specializing primarily in retail business for new and used music products. We have vastly expanded and enhanced the vinyl selection (both LPs and 45s) to include many different genres, new releases, clean and affordably priced mint-to-VG used vinyl for the collectors, and a robust budget selection for folks who aren't as much into collecting as they are into listening.
Our goal is to provide an excellent shopping experience, guided by an alphabetized inventory that is separated into different genres. Beyond our extensive vinyl selection, we carry new and used CDs, cassettes, DVDs, laser discs, VHS, and stereo equipment. If you're not able to find what you're looking for in our store, we're happy to place special orders.
For the 25 years prior to this time, the store focused partially on retail music products, but it also focused extensively on buy/sell/trade in coins, currency, comics, and collectibles.
