The day we went they had a special offering $2 yuengling drafts and half price wings which were so meaty, crispy on the outside yet juicy, the best wings I've ever had. We were a group of four so we tried the fried green tomato with shrimp, potstickers, onion rings, pulled pork flatbread and a sandwich called The Southerner. Everything was delicious, and the portions were large yet reasonably priced. It was a semi-open air, casual restaurant that had plenty of televisions for watching sports. I highly recommend this restaurant.

What we ordered Goat cheese balls 4 balls priced at $14 with a honey sauce and small balsamic spinach salad. I love goat cheese in any form but a little small for the price point 8/10 Diablo burger with crinkle cut fries 6.5/10 Sunny side egg, stuffed w goat cheese (kind of), spring mix, Sriracha, supposed to have bacon they didn't get boo My friends said just an average burger- the bites they got with goat cheese were the best! Ultimate BLT 8.5/10 White toast, bacon, tomato, mayo, egg, lettuce. Yummy sandwich Served with breakfast potatoes which I thought were better than there crinkle fries. Night life here vs Sunday brunch is very different but I was pleasantly surprised would come back for mimosa special & try something different

Hopper's gets 5 stars for nostalgia! Growing up near this location which had been in the parking…read morelot of Madison Square Mall for ages prior to its demolition, we lovingly referred to Hopper's as "menopause manor," due to the average age of the patrons. Growing up, my family would dine at their seasonal buffets, such as Easter, and we always enjoyed ourselves. This hotel was pretty much the only hotel [except for the Sheraton at the airport] in town, back in those days. As single, late teenagers, we would go here in small groups because businessman TDY would stay here on per diem, and we nearly always drank free. One of our favorite local bands in the 90s was Kozmic Mama [featuring two Butler High School classmates, John Broussard and Carla Russell] and we saw them at Hopper's every chance we could. In the later 2000s, groups like Peter and the Wolf became more prevalent at Hopper's. Peter and the Wolf always wrapped up their gig oddly, by encircling the bar, getting strangely close to those seated at the bar. I never understood their need to interact this way, when there was a perfectly good stage right there in the bar. The drummer didn't dislodge his drum kit, maybe he played a tambourine. This is a bar to get standard cocktails, highballs, and beers. I've only eaten the bar food here in the bar proper - things like French fries and nachos, and the food was always edible and the service polite. Even today, Hopper's offers live music with, I think, at least 3 bands lined up for this week. Thanks for great memories and live music, Hoppers!

Smaller tables were closer to the front so the large groups didn't bother/overwhelm with the noise. We had several shareables for the table including the pimento cheese balls, the Bavarian pretzel, and the loaded bar chips that could have easily been a meal themselves. I had the Reuben (surprise) and the sweet potato fries. The were a treat, and after all the shareables, I was able to take some fries and part of the Reuben home with me. Would love to go back and sit on the patio for happy hour one evening.

I understand that things happen that are beyond the owners control but they could have at least given us a discount or maybe a free appetizer while acknowledging the delay. We found out later that they were short handed. But wish they would have told us this upfront so we would at least know what we were in for.

The food there is not your typical bar food either. The burgers and sandwiches are out of this world!! It's super easy to miss if you're not looking, as there's no real store signage outside. Over the years I've heard this was one of the best burgers in town and just a solid hole in the wall, neighborhood type joint. Well, they weren't wrong. It's a seat yourself kinda place yet, it's full table service. It's much larger than you'd think inside as well. Arcade games, darts, pool tables are all inside along with a large screen TV and multiple other TV's. I imagine this is a solid spot for watching your teams. We got their menu's (food & drink) and took a hot minute to make our choices. Thankfully, our server and his trainee (the owners niece) were super patient and helpful along the way. They have super cheap draft beers but sadly, none were to my preference. That said, they had a number of cans/bottles of the local/regional craft variety and we enjoyed a few of those. I honestly can't recall what Amber got but she enjoyed it. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was quite good. Burgers are just one of those things that are very much about preference. Having lived in Austin for a number of years and it being a HUGE burger town, my expectations can be somewhat lofty. There was absolutely nothing offensive about their burger, I think I've had ones I've enjoyed more elsewhere in town. The prices and portions can't be beat though! We both absolutely LOVED this spot and will do our best to visit more often!
