    Chicken tenders and fries basket

Disclaimer: EZ is more of a 3.5 to me, but half-stars are unfortunately not available on Yelp. For what it's worth, I would say my experience was overall solid and met my expectations; however, I don't really think anything wowed me enough to make me want to come back on any kind of regular basis. Another disclaimer: this is a SMOKING establishment. If that's a problem for you, don't plan on dining in! Folks under 21 can't enter, either. If you want to try their food without enduring much smoke, they have an easy online ordering system. You can carry out, as I did. The restaurant is in the former location of Moe's BBQ in Jones Valley. Inside, there's a typical but well-done execution of a sports bar: dimly lit, big TVs, spacious bar with lots of stools, as well as a couple of pinball/arcade style games to play. The smoke smell wasn't especially dense when I went inside to pick up my food, but it was only noon and no one inside was actively smoking. I had to wander up to the bar to get someone's attention when I arrived, but the folks who took care of my were pleasant enough and seemed pleased I'd stopped in. My food was ready at the moment they said it would be, so kudos there. EZ has a fairly large menu, mostly of typical bar food: specialty burgers, munchies likes nachos and cheese sticks, club sandwiches, hot wings, as well as a few pizza and Tex-mex type offerings. We played it fairly safe and ordered the chicken tender and fries basket, along with an 8 count of jumbo wings in hot sauce. We added on an extra side of fries, as my boyfriend wanted fries with his wings. Our food was about what you'd expect. My chicken tenders reminded me a good bit of Applebee's tenders, which isn't necessarily a bad thing (even though people love to meme on Applebee's). Fairly crunchy, decent seasoning, not a ton of meat and I suspect probably not hand-breaded. Overall, fine. The hot wings were fairly large, as promised. We felt they were slightly under-sauced, but we do generally prefer saucier wings. They tasted pretty standard, nothing super unusual but nothing bad either. Neither of us were super crazy about the ranch that we were given. The stand out was actually the French fries! They come in a unique shape I'd never really seen before. Some are a little thicker, like wedges, but retain pretty good crispness; some are so thin they're as crunchy as potato chips. They also had a light dusting of some kind of tasty seasoning on them. A bonus: the servings of fries were SUPER generous, both on my tender plate and the side order. The side order serving was remarkable: a whole to-go container absolutely BRIMMING with fries. We couldn't nearly eat them all, so keep that in mind when ordering! If I was to go back, I'd probably try an order of their loaded fries. Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable smoking restaurant to enjoy a game with some friends in the Jones Valley area, this is probably a really good bet. One other bonus/extra, unusual feature for the area: they're open till 2 AM most nights. Check it out, if that's your style.

Finally got my wife to go since they went smoke free. We had a good time. Food was excellent, unique fries, and fun/great service. Tuesday is half price burger day.

Little hiccups last few visits. Undercooked fried okra (still cold on inside) , chewy fatty Chickarrones- perhaps just a bad order but they were overdone, all fat, and inedible. Great customer care & smiles all around. I'll go back and hopefully it'll be the fab food finds I know they're capable of.

I can't speak to the food, Miss Margaret, I think is her name, is behind all the Southern goodness served up. I think they have daily specials and offer wings, burgers, you know - bar food and oysters occasionally. Back when when my best friend's husband was into pool and played there every Friday, they had a complimentary buffet set up in the back. I'm sure I have eaten there since I have been to Diamond's ~ 2 dozen times, I just don't recall what I had. Best friend loves their burger and all the southern dishes. I do like their bar. It is horseshoe shaped with nice, comfy upholstered chairs. They offer pool, of course, trivia, TVs, pool leagues, and live music. I'm not sure if they charge a cover or not for the live music nights. They do allow smoking/vaping - so beware; however, due to the size of the place, it probably won't be a deal breaker for you if/when indoor activities resume. Huntsville really doesn't have that many pool places - I can only think of Diamond's and Bumpers (maybe End Zone??) They do not have a website, you'll have to track Diamond's socials (FB primarily) to see what Miss Margaret is cooking up and to learn about their COVID procedures.

It was around 1pm if management or owners read this. He was great. Great beer selection even though I was on work time so I had tea. Got the lunch special. The Cesar salad was big, dressing was good. Both the croutons and the dressing seemed homemade. Still had salad left but jumped to the pizza when it arrived. The Deluxe without onions, thin crust. Delicious!! Ingredients tasted fresh, nice crust. Perfect size for one person at lunch. Honestly I was a little full from the salad but there was no way I wasn't finishing that pizza!! Bathrooms were clean which is always a win in my book. The pictures on the wall didn't really have an explanation-would have loved to know more there. Tons of TV around with sports on. We were greeted and immediately seated. John was our server and very attentive despite handling most of the tables. We ordered waters all around, lemonade for the children, root beer (Tap was the only available option-but was definitely the best option! Heads up, no refills) and a virgin seasonal caramel apple ginger beer which was very tasty. The ginger beer could have been stronger but that's my personal preference. We started with the whipped ricotta and toast-the bread was warm and the hint of black pepper with the honey set it apart from others we've tried. We also had the Italian salad-pretty standard and more spring mix heavy than anything but still good. Maybe put the dressing on the side. We ordered Nick the Greek and BYO pineapple/green olive pizzas. Regular crust and housemade marinara sauce. The crust was good-just the right amount of airy and delicious. My only complaint here is the sun-dried tomatoes-and I love sun-dried tomatoes. They are put on top almost as an afterthought-maybe for texture. Rehydrating them may help? The BYO pizza was solid. I was surprised that my child really enjoyed the caramelized pineapple-they are more of a traditional pineapple pizza person. Oh, the Parmesan cheese is served in this cute containers! We finished the meal with a pizzokie-very gooey in the center, crispy edges and delicious ice cream. Overall, a great pizza option for Huntsville. I recognized the owner from the social media pages and while he was working alongside his employees-which I appreciated-he only interacted with "the regulars". It's always a nice touch the have an owner stop by your table, again my personal opinion. Would definitely visit again!

Jefferson's is a small, I'd say regional chain that seems to have a tendency to pop up in areas without a ton of dining options; there are locations in places such as Winchester, TN and Scottsboro, AL. Given this pattern, it's a logical addition to Hampton Cove, which has historically had a huge dearth of restaurants despite the population density and relative affluence of the area. We (me, hubs, sis-in-law, and her husband) came for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon about two weeks ago. There were a few other people eating in at the time but they weren't crazy busy. We were seated quickly by our waitress, Shawna, who was great! They have a fairly large menu with a lot of American bar food favorites. Lots of appetizers (buffalo chicken dip, fried mushrooms and pickles, etc). For main entrees, they have wings, burgers, chicken, and somewhat weirdly...oysters? Not going there personally but it is an option! The atmosphere is basic sports bar, but it's clean and airy. There's a lot of seating and they seem to do a brisk carryout business too! BIL had apparently been craving a root beer float and was surprised to see it offered here as a summertime special. He and SIL both got one and declared it very tasty! We also got an appetizer of pretzel bites for everyone to share. The bites were incredibly hot and fresh, and served with beer cheese and "sassy sauce" that was a little like a sweeter honey mustard. We enjoyed them! Everyone except for me had wings (2 bone-in, 1 boneless order) and fries or tater tots. Resoundingly happy all around! My husband did wish he could split the flavors on his wings, but you have to get a really large order (I wanna say like 12+??) to do that, so he settled on one flavor. I had chicken tenders and fries and also enjoyed them! The tenders were very large and quite meaty. The breading could've used a tiny bit more salt or seasoning, but they went well dipped in the creamy ranch. Shawna was a highlight of our experience; without asking, she brought BIL more root beer for his float when he quickly drained the liquid part of it, allowed us to keep the queso and sassy sauce from the appetizer to dip our entree fries in, and was very prompt and patient getting extra sauces and refills as needed. Shout out to Shawna! Will definitely return to try more appetizers or get some yummy bar food or watch a game. Thanks for a positive first experience!
