Located in a very old house. Shared a steak sandwich, came open faced with horseradish under & new potatoes- really good. Second dinner was a bowl with nearly every vegetable- plus rice. Added in piece of blackened fish to it - great . Service was very good !

Our dinner at The Gahan House was an easy choice, directly across the street from our hotel, it was certainly accessible on a snowy night. Our server was outstanding. She offered suggestions on the menu, and was also covering bar area. While she was busy, she was just attentive enough. We ordered drinks first. The blueberry-lavender margarita was a delightful surprise, flavorful without being too sweet. The espresso martini was nice as well. A very good start. The salad course was delivered at the same time as the dinner, so I could have done without it. But it was crisp and nicely dressed (I don't like them to be too heavily dressed or where the lettuce gets too wilty!) The dinner dishes were awesome. We don't eat pork, so asked if they could prepare the Chicken Chorizo Pasta without Choirzo, and it was so good! It had just enough heat with the spice. The beef was deliciously tender and very flavorful. I loved the gravy, very tasty. Restaurant was warm and welcoming and we really enjoyed the evening. I'm sure we'll be back during our ongoing travels to Halifax.

While staying at Sutton place, and it was raining, the gahan house was close by. Service was great! Food: nachos were good, beet salad was amazing and calamari was light and enjoyable. Seafood chowder was ok. A little watery for a chowder..ordered mussels. The broth was actually rather bitter. Raspberry sour beer was awesome! Definitely would recommend visiting

I stopped in for a hot meal on a snowy day, and it was exactly what I wanted. It has a warm, cozy feel with a big bar in the middle and you can see the brewing process. The walls are completely windows so you can see to the street outside. We got the calamari with the hope that it would be great with the location being so close to the sea, and it was! It was super crispy and had great flavor. I wanted comfort food so I got the chicken curry, it was served with fries which was interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect getting curry at a pub-style restaurant, but it was great. My husband got the chicken tenders, which were also perfectly cooked and seasoned, and had a simple but great presentation. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us recommendations of things to see while we're in the area. The menu is small, but from what I had, they do those items pretty well. I took off a star because when we came back again a few days later, our waitress this time was super inattentive. My water was empty for a while, and when I was finally able to ask for another one, she forgot to bring it and realized it when she brought the check.

    - oysters were fresh and totally worth it - can taste the blueberry of the beer, very interesting - chicken, bacon, peameal bacon sandwich with maple syrup on top was delicious! - spacious and comfortable seating

Friendly and fast service, great ambiance in a bar like setting. Food was served in HUGE portions. Beer selection was vast- I ordered the fish and chips and pickled beet salad. I was only disappointed I could eat it all! Delicious meal!!

The oysters sum up the night lol. Reserved the room all the way in the back for some clients. The food and drinks were amazing! The service was quick and really nice, handled the group very well. Def. had a few favourites, the fried chicken wraps were AMAZING. Finished the night off with some expensive scotch. Can't complain!

Pros: great location, spacious fun environment, great beer, seems to always accommodate seating. Great nachos. Chorizo great. Cons: a lot of seafood appetizers, Cesar salad was quite salty and undressed. Menu could be bigger Returned: Great atmosphere, probably the main reason we come here. Food is always underwhelming and bill is always high reflecting the product. Burger was cold, Caesar had way too much dressing, fried chicken sandwich was alll skin and the fries were pretty over salted. Sangria was f$@kin awesome tho.

The Center of attraction - Gahan bar!

This place is awesome! Great to hang out with friends. A good mix of Beers and food. We had the Originals and the Podium flights. My personal favorites were the sir John Honey wheat and the Iron Bridge brown ale. Pei Mussels from the appetizers was straight from heaven! We also tried the Pan fried Haddock from the entrees, a healthy choice! Works best if you want something less jazzy on the plate. The service is prompt and friendly too! Coming back again to try out the coconut chicken curry! Recommended!/

An amazing tuna tartare with plantain chips!

My husband and I decided to stop by Gahan's for a quick drink...but it turned into a few and a bite! Beers aren't my forte, especially during an overcast day. I opted for the Night at Gahan Irish coffee- it is superb! The blend was perfect, not overly alcoholic. It was perfectly semi-sweet. The whip cream was super thick but surprisingly not too sweet. So delicious...I had a second serving! According to my husband, the beer was good. I believe it was the Raspberry? We both got a bite to eat. I got the tuna tartare and it was just the perfect amount to share...or eat by myself. The plantain chips were nicely fried to a good crunch. My husband got the poutine. I'm not a fan of soggy fries, but I did tried the fries that weren't drenched. It was good. I had a bit of the gravy, it was good- not too salty. Overall, Gahan's was a great find. The staff were very nice, friendly and attentive. We would definite come back!

Currently they have 'good grief charlie' a brown ale and 'wheat in the knees' which were all amazing. The staff are absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and will do anything for you, as someone who prefers a root beer to beer - they went out of their way to get me a sprite (which blew my mind). My partner absolutely enjoyed this lovely time. They also have a few games to play! Highly recommend this little brewery, it's small but it is mighty delicious.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter and I think Instagram too - so you know their hours, what's new on tap, what's on the guest taps (buy local!). Trivia night #2 was a success! We ordered pizza this time from Rocky Lake Pizza across the street and omg that was the perfect meal paired with the perfect Off Track brew. I had the Sessional IPA on tap 8 (I forgot the name) and it was soooo tasty that I had two (not like me). The rest of my party went for the Damn Skippy (peanut butter mmmmm - you have to try it). Flights are a way to sample several brews - usually I do that. Love the merch! Normally, I don't buy this stuff from places but I have several items already and I'm most definitely getting the zip up hoodie next time. Lots more I can say, like... Dog friendly establishment. Projector for watching "the sports". Clean. Friendly faces - who will explain the various brews on tap. No kitchen - but you can bring your food there - ask the guys, they'll be happy to help.

After a couple of rounds, Henry the (mis)manager refused me service, so a friend offered me his beer, which I took a sip from. Henry's colleague, this miserable and rude woman, then proceeded to shout and scream like an immature child at me - a customer - how I'm making them unsafe at work and demanding that I leave the premises. Of course I leave, who enjoys being screamed at? A few minutes later I'm sitting outside the venue on the street and I'm on the phone to my friend, still at the bar, asking when he'll leave, when Henry comes out to harass me, accusing me of screaming - funny, his idiot colleague just did that to me, yet it's okay if she behaves that way. Isn't that funny? Refusing service is part of your job. Screaming and abuse is not. If you are that incompetent at a simple task and need to resort to shouting to solve a problem, you are clearly in the wrong job. The venue was practically empty, even on Sunday afternoon, which is highly telling of the quality of staff. An extremely disappointing and upsetting experience, Henry and his idiot colleague are an embarrassment to the brewing label and the craft, as a whole.

The service is usually a major miss here but we opted for the patio on a beautiful sunny day. The server didn't even offer to bring water when she took our order but the drinks arrived fairly quickly, as did the food. The fish and chips is actually an embarrassment to the entire Atlantic region. Soggy, crusty and nearly black from the deep fryer. You will get a tiny piece that looks like it had heart disease before it ended up on your plate. I've never eaten fish where I have a leftover cup of tartar sauce, but this was it. The fries looked old and like someone grabbed them off a plate of leftovers. While this is definitely the best patio in the Valley, it is not worth eating here. Basically it's a brew pub located inside of an old church. Very cool! The restaurant itself is quite spacious, as they have two sections to sit inside. They also have an adjacent beer market and outdoor patio seating. For food, they have a menu that is typical of pub fare. I ordered the fish & chips (1 piece of haddock) for $16, as the hostess said it was one of the more popular dishes. I've had my fair share of fish & chips while in Canada, and I'd have to say that this ranks as one of the better ones. The haddock tasted very fresh and it's a nice, thick piece. The batter was on the lighter side, which I appreciated. The tartar sauce was yummy and the fries were legit, but the slaw was more of an Asian slaw as opposed to a coleslaw, and I didn't care for that. Hubby ordered the Porter Bacon & Cheddar Burger and enjoyed it. We both split a cup of their Matriarch's Chowder for $9, and it came with a house made mini pretzel. Both were delish! They have a nice variety of beers, and I chose the 15 oz "Married to the Sea" for $6.96, which is a delicious German Porter. It had strong notes of coffee, which I liked. Hubby got an IPA and said it was strong and bitter, just the way he likes it. Service was fast and friendly. Although it was crowded, they were able to get a lot of people in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner. I'd highly recommend this fun brew pub if you happen to be in Annapolis!
