Absolutely disgraceful vet practice. Inflated prices, terrible service and incompetent on so many…read morelevels. They told us they are specialists in orthopaedics when it simply isn't true. Our dog had surgeries at a very young age, too young in fact and has suffered every day since then. Our new vet is horrified at things that have occurred including admitting our dog for days following a stomach upset. Of course when she was a pup they insisted we took out Petplan insurance as they pay them fast and direct. They had left her suffering with numerous conditions but overcharged for things that were not even necessary. There are many other practices locally that will not rip you off and have genuine, compassionate vets that will not rip you and your insurers off

ALL PLEASE READ THIS! And especially if you are registered at Cygnet Vets/Swanbridge hospital …read more Today my dog was poorly so took her to vets - she had swallowed an object and said I needed to get to swanbridge to have it removed . I was advised it will be about £2,000. So I went to swanbridge hospital . We arrived and when we get in the room the vet stated we will carry out bloods x Ray, fluids etc .And as we will be operating on the stomach you are looking at £4000! . I could see the estimate in front of her for the pre op and it was £1011.25 BEFORE even operating so £3,000 to open her up . Thankfully I had the hindsight to ring Peel vets whilst there and they told me to go straight to them. as we were leaving I asked why was I advised ( at cygnet) £2000. Then a person who seemed to be more higher ranking stated off the cuffs - it's never £2000. We left with them showing no interest in our animals welfare! We arrived at Peels(hornsea) and the op was carried out today too the cost of £1300 including 3 night stay and all the other stuff cygnet we're going to do . HOW ON EARTH CAN ANOTHER VET JUSTIFY CHARGING £2700 MORE! What angers me more is that people going to this vet will think these are normal charges across the board. This is evidence that they are not. What concerns me is that Someone who has been to this practice will have had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanise their pet unnecessarily because of these scandalously outrageous charges, which are not normal. PLEASE PLEASE ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION.

Review of End Cottage Vets (Zero Stars if I Could Give It)…read more Every single experience I've had with End Cottage Vets has left me feeling dismissed, disrespected, and deeply frustrated. The level of arrogance and indifference from the staff is staggering. I phoned today simply to request a repeat prescription -- something I've done before -- and was immediately talked over and treated like I'd never dealt with them in my life. Instead of listening, the man on the phone patronised me, insisting I should use the automated system as though I'd somehow imagined previous direct conversations. That attitude sums up this place perfectly: cold, defensive, and uninterested in genuine care -- either for animals or for the people who love them. Their prices are extortionate, their compassion selective, and their first instinct seems to be to push for the most drastic (and expensive) measures rather than finding ways to actually help. The overall tone is hostile and transactional, not caring or supportive. End Cottage Vets should be ashamed of the way they treat their clients and the animals entrusted to them. A veterinary practice should stand for empathy, trust, and understanding -- three qualities this place has consistently failed to show.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET FIND ANOTHER VET!!!! After my cat went blind I was told by one of their senior…read morevets that my cat had cancer. To be sure they wanted me to undertake tests which I agreed to. After tests they said there was nothing systemically wrong with my cat. No other explanation of the blindness was offered. A few days later I took my cat to a specialist eye vet for a second opinion who told me he was 95% sure my cat had a systemic condition likely to be cancer and he asked me to arrange for the scans to be sent to him so he could view for himself. I asked for the test results including scans to be sent to the specialist vet 5 times but the scans were never sent despite assurances every time that they were being sent. This prevented the opportunity for my specialist vet to see the scans for himself to confirm his judgement. When I pressed them on why the scans were never sent they finally admitted that due to human error the scans were never saved. I made a formal complaint which is also being extremely poorly handled. These people do not care about animals only profits. BE AWARE. THERE ARE OTHER LOCAL VETS YOU CAN USE BUT BE CAREFUL BECAUSE THESE VETS ARE PART OF A WIDER GROUP (WIGSTON GROUP) who are part of the same business. if I could have scored less than 1 I would have selected that option

Friendly receptionists, happy to help with general queries anf chatty whilst you are waiting. The vet was professional yet friendly and kind, remembering me and my pet from previous visits. Calmed down my somewhat nervous cat (and her owner) putting us at ease and treating the problem thoroughly. Great service and brilliant value.

We went for a second and third opinion (to be sure) neither of whom even suggested such a measure, they simple gave us a course of medication. They both said that putting an animal down is a last resort and would not recommend it unless the animal was suffering beyond help. We had recently moved Hull from having an amazing vets where we were, it turns out most vets are like our old vets but not this one. I guess the most insulting bit was wanting to put him down there and then, like it did not even matter, the vet showed no caring signs at all. You get what you pay for i guess and the other vets were more expensive (for treatment but cheaper for medication, make of that what you will) and did have much nicer surgeries, but they were more constructive, caring and helpful. We now go to a vets on the other side of Hull rather than this vets just down the road.
