I was really looking forward to visiting this place based on the reviews and from outside it looks really inviting. They have an extensive brunch menu and full service bar. The hostess seated us immediately and bought us luke-warm coffee which was very strong and tasted like it had been lying around awhile. I requested milk for the coffee but even that did not help. The home fries had no taste and the bacon was served cold and hard as a board. My poached eggs were cooked with so much vinegar they tasted more like pickled eggs than poached. The waiter was unfriendly and not attentive, as we had to ask twice for the milk for the coffee and utensils. Sorry folks but our experience was disappointing, food was sub-par and overall I believe this place to be over priced and over rated. read more

The food was just ok, the service was top tier. It was a small diner feel, I could tell they had their regulars which was heart warming to see. I ordered the shrimp and grits and French toast. The shrimp was seasoned to perfection, the grits had none. The French toast was ok but a tad dry, probably should've been soaked a bit longer. I went the next day and ordered a pancake with a side of eggs. The pancake was the side of my head or bigger. It was right next to my hotel so I would recommend it if you're in the area and it's a short walk. read more

This was our first time back since the restaurant relocated after the hurricane in 2024. I really liked the old school diner atmosphere. The food was as amazing as we remembered with great variety and huge quantities. I loved the frog Benedict while my wife enjoyed the Neptune Benedict. Both were great. My mother-in-law tackled the largest stack of pancakes I have seen in a long while. Our server was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable, and frequently at the table to check on us. We will certainly be back for breakfast soon. read more

This is a classic diner. My family and I stopped in here for a breakfast during our St. Pete Beach weekend vacation. We walked over from our hotel. About a 5-10 minute walk from The Sirata Beach Resort. The place was busy. The Frog Pond shares a location with another restaurant called Mad Fish. Walking up, this place looks like an old school diner. Reflective metal siding, curved roof, shaped like an old rail car. It has a vintage and quaint feel. Walking in, it's definitely small. We were seated right away in a corner booth right by the door. Our server was around quick and got us taken care of. She was friendly and attentive. I ordered coffee and then the Pond. A basic breakfast that covers all the bases. Eggs cooked how you want them. A side of meat, tomato slices, home fries or a pancake. The food was cooked well and was a filling breakfast. The service was excellent. The restaurant is decorated with lots of frog memorabilia. I had the Denver omelette with grits. The grits were the yummy southern way - cream, cheese and butter. Me and my mom stopped at The Frog Pond for breakfast before we left St. Pete beach. We got sat and had an amazing waitress, Emma M. She was professional, kind, and very friendly. The customer service really stood out--everyone from the manager to the host and server was incredibly polite, welcoming, and genuinely engaging. Took the staff over 20 minutes to clear a singular table causing the business to default to a false wait. Thus losing potential guests and money. Thankfully yet regrettably my group stayed around. It took the server over 5 minutes to even notice we were sat, she was unprepared on the menu items and was unable to answer simple questions. The only service we got was the coffee and juice from the host when he seated us. We sat outside and the server did not come out to us. After 20 mins, another family sat outside and got service. I can't comment on the food because we were not given service. I went to pay $13 for the 3 beverages and the manager who took my payment wasn't curious as to why we were leaving. We thought the breakfast food was fine and the service was certainly good. The reason for this rating is because this restaurant serves all meals in carry-out plastic containers. It was a shock to see our eggs and pancakes brought to us as if we were taking them home. No plates. We were told they do this because they don't want the wait staff to carry heavy plates. Hum...it seems that other restaurant establishments use plates. We will not return to The Frog Pond. We do not go out to eat and pay on-the-beach prices to have our food served in a plastic container. The amount of plastic in the trash bins at this restaurant was disgusting. I encourage the owners to reconsider, and for anyone looking for a breakfast restaurant to look elsewhere. read more

We are so happy that The Frog Pond reopened and the space sharing by Mad Fish and The Frog Pond is smart business! We ate breakfast there twice during our short trip to SPB. The eggs, potatoes and rye toast were perfectly cooked. Another morning I had chicken that was delicious. The lattes were delicious. Happy too that they still give you homemade strawberry jam. The food was HORRIBLE. My husband asked for French toast and I asked for biscuits and gravy. The waitress suggested a French toast dish and told me they were out of biscuits. So I picked eggs Benedict. The food took a little while and when it came out everything was COLD. And his French toast was cinnamon rolls which he wanted French toast. We called the waitress and told her everything was cold and he said that he wanted French toast not cinnamon rolls. She said ok and left with our plates. She returned with cinnamon rolls again and I got the same dish but the potatoes were microwaved. The potatoes tasted like they were cooked yesterday and when we got them back they had warm spots but were the same potatoes. The English muffins were not cooked and the hollandaise tasted weird. We didn't eat our "reheated" meals. And went to Starbucks for a breakfast sandwich. Disappointment isn't strong enough. I should have read the reviews.
