I visited the gallery during the Poppy Festival and I picked up a piece to look at closer. When I…read moreput it back on the shelf the small top (turns out it was a lid) fell off and broke. It was a small lid like a stopper but I thought it was a solid piece. I was so embarassed and ashamed and I asked what she wanted me to do. She told me I had to pay for the piece. I understood and said yes.. I am upset because the shop keeper treated me as if I was a 5 yr old; was not sympathetic or understanding in anyway and did not offer any kind of discount (which should be a cost of doing business) I was paying full price for a broken piece of pottery and the other visitors were nicer to me than the staff. It is a cure gallery but I will never cross their threshold again.

I visited this art center for the first time today. It was clean, it was designed well, and it was…read moreinteresting. They had many pieces of interesting paintings that were quite pricey. Additionally, they had things made of wood such as turned bowls and clever utensils. They had some beautiful ornaments, made out of ceramic, I bought one of those. It was $50. They had plates and platters and more things than I can name here. They even had jewelry. It's all handmade and beautiful. I look forward to coming back and buying some Christmas gifts. In addition to the art portion of the business, there is a workshop section where people can go to classes and learn ceramics or painting and other things. The woman who was working was very helpful and kind. I look forward to frequency this gallery regularly.

I'm being generous with my 3 stars, since I found those in charge of the facility operations to be condescending and dismissive of volunteer input. I tried to become more involved in the loose operational functions but was immediately shut down. Due to my excessive senior level management background, I felt completely under valued. This was especially true of the the male members of the board. Keep this in mind if you're thinking about this venue as a volunteer opportunity.

I experienced 'real conversation' regarding art, the artists, museum level of framing Kimi provides to both artist or collector. It was a refreshingly welcome interaction, rather than any type of commercial 'let's make a deal' vibe. I did walk out with a piece of original art, created by BRIESCHKE, a local artist, who studied at a Chicago Art School, decades ago... yet hasn't lost her eye for considerable richness of palette presentation. I will definitely be revisiting #TheFramersGallery, when I head into Georgetown for the day!
