We love this place. Always clean, the casino is small and intimate and they have a couple of good restaurants. Oh and most important? I get my room comped a lot and almost always win money there! What is not to like about that? Free and they pay me to come? Yup, I am a fan! Cleanliness and a comfy decor round out the experience. The attention to detail is amazing. I mentioned that it was hubby's birthday last time we were there (on their dime again) and they sent up a beautiful plate of chocolates (hand made with petit fours) and spelled out Happy Birthday in raspberry sauce and chocloate on a piece of white chocolate candy. Great experience and the only game in town for us now. We haven't been to the Sun in a couple of years except to keep my points active and to see a concert and then we drove up the road to stay at MGM. Have been there about 15 times (always free except on Sat night and got that for 99 bucks) and will not go anywhere else. Concert venue is amazing too! Try Alta Strada for a nice meal. Pay with points for an even better experience as they give you 1 to 1. Also, they always give you at least 20-30 bucks in free gaming that you can redeem right at the machine. GREAT venue for fun! read more

Always make sure to play here and dine here as opposed to the original Foxwoods.. The bill breaking ticket machines are the same model as the MGM Grand in Las Vegas..just a nice touch..much more of a Vegas style experience.. Blackjack rules here are good..usually leave with a small profit.. Much better video poker and slot selections..machines are clean and well maintained. Junior's is an excellent dining option..always leave with a slice of cake and a sandwich.. read more

We came bc it is listed as the biggest casino in the US. Overall, good to really good food, gambling at all levels, and probably one of the top 5 spas I've ever been to. We liked the shops (good variety) but everything seems to close up at 9pm. (Not so good for us on Left coast time). Beautiful room - get one on the top floors - breathtaking views. Would absolutely recommend. read more

I stayed here last Thursday had two rooms for the 4 of us for business. I was looking forward to staying on MGM Grand side. Unfortunately the comfort of the rooms was not up to par compared to the MGM Grand Las Vegas. The room had wear marks on the walls and in corners, there was dust and crackers still in the carpeting. The window had hand prints on it and the top sheet had stains. It seemed to me all they had done to clean the room was change the sheets from the prior guests. The comfort of the bedding was terrible and the sheets were rough. I felt the accommodations were 1 star. They received an extra star from me only for the mere fact at check in the girl was very polite. There was nothing they could do about my dirty room because I was told they were fully booked for the weekend. Both of our rooms had the same tired halfhearted cleanliness. I love to play blackjack but will seriously think twice about staying the night here. Their rival has better accommodations hands down. read more

This was our first visit for a weekday getaway for my tired nurse-wife, who finished a long extended shift at her hospital. She loves to play the slots, and when we found an overnight VIP deal from Groupon for $129 for a king bed including resort fee and taxes, we decided to take it, and it included a dinner comp, which we used at one of the restaurants. At the end of our visit we were able to obtain another two day package at a lower weekday rate from our VIP concierge, and we look forward to returning in June for our anniversary. . read more

With the free foxwoods member card, you qualify for free stays during the week.. I paid for an upgrade this time to one of the director suites at fox tower.. and it was phenomenonal. It would be worth paying full amount. There are views from the office, the bedroom, and the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was amazing.. I stayed in til I pruned.. each day lol. And the pressure in the shower was so nice, like a massage. The other highlight was room service breakfast.. it's an order form/menu on a door hanger.. you put it on the outside door handle before 4am and they will bring it at whatever time you request and you can pay with points! I order a loaded omelette and hash browns.. omg, fantastic.. hash browns were waffle house quality and the omelette was cheesy fluffy with all fresh ingredients. Next time I will have to try.. they have a late night party option.. you can place a drink order by 11pm that will get delivered late night to be in ur room when you return. Stayed 2 nights, great, great time.. only down side was, wish there was a shuttle to the rainmaker side (like a 20minute walk lol) but good excercise. :) read more

To celebrate my husbands birthday we took a trip with our 18 year old daughter as there is so much to do at Foxwoods. We have stayed at Mohegan and some of the other hotels in the past. The check in process was slow. We waited in line for about 45 minutes before checking in. Our room was ready though we had requested a higher floor and ended up on the 8th floor with a view of the roof and heating units - not really a big deal. There were many little maintenance issues that should have been kept up with. The grout around the sink was cracked and dirty. Bathroom fixtures were not properly installed or finished. Stains on one of the comforters. Housekeeping did not remove/replace used water cups. Most easily accessible outlets (in the lamps) did not work. TV was small and not easy to use. Had to walk far to use pool as our daughter is 18 and the pool in Fox Tower requires you to be 21. We paid $15 each for a one day pass to the pool at the Grand Pequot as the one at Great Cedars was overcrowded when we got there The room next to us was very loud the first night (think adult entertainment) and there was a dog barking on our floor the second night making it hard to sleep. The beds were comfy and the shower was awesome. read more

WARNING! I stayed at MGM hotel 11/7/11 for 1 night, I left my debit card as a security deposit and the next day I have four (4) fraudulent charges $22.61 each deducted from my bank account from MOJANG MONEYBOOKERS. I had to close my account, file a fraud report, and now have to wait to get my money back that was stolen. The only place I used my debit card was MGM, so I have to believe someone at the desk stole my information. read more

Just got back from a two day stay at MGM. We thought the room was spotless and inviting (and we are clean hotel room freaks). Beautiful view on the 28th floor and quite spacious. I agree with the previous posters, the bathroom was fantastic. Wow. The mini bar was stocked with Grey Goose and Patron and at least a dozen types of great beers in the fridge. Only thing we missed was the morning paper which most of the better hotels we stay in provide for free in the morning. Small detail I know but its something we enjoy. Overall a Very enjoyable trip and we would gladly stay there again. Thanx MGM. read more

I took my girlfriend to the Fox Tower for our 3 year anniversary and honestly had the best time in months. We are semi-regulars to the casino so we knew what to expect. Since we live relatively close by, I never spend the night unless I am there on business, so this is the first time I have really spent for pleasure. Do to the fact I had made a last minute reservation and I was trying to do some extra things for our anniversary, I contacted management to make some custom arrangements. I got a response immediately and was helped even BEYOND what I had asked for. The staff from regular employees to concierge to management to the spa employees... EVERYONE... was FANTASTIC. Thank you guys for helping make my anniversary the best one yet! read more

Have been a regular Foxwoods/MGM customer for 12 years, from Cedars to MGM This past stay, 4 night was a disaster. MGM has decided to place a hugely popular Night club (Shrine) right next to hotel entrance. Noise actually reverberates up to rooms. They have very poorly trained security that lets anyone pass into hotel area with a simple "Juniors" room key without checking any information, but I had the "newest" security offered. MGM was implementing the use of your Dreamcard for room access, all well first 2 nights and then: the ill trained Rent A Cop refused to let me on the elevator though I had my Dream card, License etc. He stated that was not acceptable and I could not get on elevator "As long as he was standing there" This promoted quite a dilemma as I was hurrying to my room to get Insulin! Eventually the Manager on duty was called, he looked me up in computer and provided a "Temporary" card and told me "If you don't like the way we do things here, go somewhere else After this debacle, I endured an all night party in room next to my suite despite 11, yes eleven calls to front desk and security. The answer; Unless the Rent A Cop actually is standing by the offending room and hears noise nothing can be done, and he has other duties After 12 years at $200-400 per hand at Black Jack, 10-12 hours daily, Mohegan welcomed me with open arms You may or may not enjoy your time at MGM, but understand they don't give a rat's As. about you and loyalty is non existent. Take your chances with "Security" as it is a farce, and if you ever are assaulted, robbed etc. at MGM, I would be most happy to submit an affidavit as to my experience with their ill trained security. Oh yeah, after 28 years with two "Alphabet" agencies and 12 as a Police Officer, I have "Some" idea of what proper security should be. And the pièce de résistance : when I checked my CC Statement this month, I had been billed $200. when I inquired (As this was a comped stay) they said "The ammenities tray (Not the items, no idea where they supposedly went, but the tray!) from top of Mini Bar was missing when you left" You have got to be joking, must have been Securities "revenge" read more

Had a fun time and didnt deposit my entire paycheck! The place is spic and span (for those of you who are in your 30's )

Stayed at Foxwoods a couple of times recently and will place the MGM portion of the resort as the nicest. I try to get the Director's Suite when I'm there, mainly for the soaking tub with a view of the wooded countryside. So relaxing to take a shower then jump into the gigantic jetted tub. Bed is comfy, living room also has a comfy sofa. Closets light up and have nice terry robes, although the last 2 suites I stayed in had burnt out bulbs in the closet. the complimentary toiletries are also fairly nice here, not too cheap, and the rooms are appointed nicely. In room coffee is Starbucks and actually tastes good. Food choices at MGM- Juniors, craftsteak and alta strada are good, the food court has some limited option places that mostly deserve a pass. Red Lantern has just opened, and looks very interesting- high level Asian cuisine. To get to the rest of Foxwoods, it is a bit of a walk, I think that keeps a lot of people away from MGM but that kind of works for me. I asked once about the distance from one end to the other, and was told it's about a half mile from end to end, so if you walk the whole complex a couple of times you can get a pretty good workout. MGM is the farthest from the Poker Room, so factor that in if it's important. The casino floor here is one giant floor, never seemed to be too crowded. Parking garage is very wide open and I have always found a spot right on top of the door. Staff is great. The little general type store seems to always be staffed with the newest employees who have difficulty with the computer system and I have seen them being mistreated by impatient guests looking to spend their casino points on overpriced plastic dice and souvenir shot glasses. That makes me feel bad, they don't deserve to be yelled at when they are trying their best. read more

First impressions I like Mohegan much better but I llkr MGM in Vegas so I'll give this a closer look.

We just returned from a two night stay at Fox Tower. Upon arriving in our room I noticed a candy wrapper on the floor. The room just didn't seem up to the usual standard. Just not throughly cleaned . I had a very tough night sleeping. There was constant slamming of doors all hours of the night. I know it is not the hotel 's fault . I just wish someone could come up with a quiet door closer. At 1am we were awoken with loud music. We couldn't tell where it was coming from. The constant boom kept us up for awhile. The next night I was just so tired I fell asleep right away . We ate at Red Lantern. The food was excellent . The restaurant however was freezing . It made it very difficult to enjoy being there. The manager however did offer us hot sake to keep us warm . That was a nice gesture. We did however wait 20 minutes to get our bill after requesting it. Hopefully our next visit to Foxwoods will be better. read more

We stay at Fox Tower often and have always been happy, until our most recent visit. We booked 2 nights. Upon arriving back to our room on the 2nd night, we found trash on the bathroom floor, and several dirty cups left in the room from breakfast. Definitely not up to their usual standard! read more

I stayed there last night. Ugh. It was awful. Every step of the way it was awful. The valet yelled at me for taking too long because I was taking my infant (4 months old) out of the car. (I had a babysitter and my baby because we were there to see a show not crazy party.) The staff up front was nice. But the rooms were disgusting. We had two adjoining rooms. One had a half eaten hamburger left in it. The other had...how do you want me to say it...jizz...cum...spooge on the chair. Yes, I am sure thats what it was. The room just seemed dirty and I looked at the bathroom door handles and they were greasy. The casino was so smoky that my husband, babysitter and father all got sick. It gave me an asthema attack. I have never been anywhere so smoky, even when it was legal to smoke in NY. If you think I am kidding....find a youtube video of the show I saw and you will see that the comedian said all you need to do to find the place was to follow the scent of smoke. It was so awful. The beers were so overpriced...it was $14 for ONE BEER. No one was winning. At every other casino you occasionally hear someone win...no one was winning. The minimums are insane! I wanted to play roulette and it was either $15 or $25 min. There were almost no .25 slots, or .50 slots. The bed was uncomfortable. We went to two restaurants...a mexican place and Juniors...both were kinda gross but had good service. If your going for the outlets...dont bother...its a tanger outlet. There arent any real deals at Tanger...I live right by one and there arent great deals...you can usually do the same deals with a coupon or a sale online. Everything is so far away from everything. You have to walk a mile to get anywhere. Basically, if you want a weekend at a casino go to Mohegan. Its nicer there. The rooms are clean. The restaurants are so much better and they acutally filter their air. Yes, its smaller but you want that. You dont want to have to drag your butt a mile just to find a beer. read more

Extremely disappointed in Fox Tower right now!!! My boyfriend and I have stayed here on multiple occasions and it was always fantastic. However, during our past stay this weekend (which was for his birthday) I left my expensive rain jacket in the closet and a sweatshirt I love dearly in the bathroom since we were rushing to get to the activities planned for his birthday the next morning. I am usually very careful and make sure to check the room over on multiple occasions before check out, but the one time I do not turned into this fiasco!! Once I realized I left the items in the hotel room, I was relieved to know that the hotel has a lost and found! However, this department is a complete waste as my items were nowhere to be found. What's the point of a lost and found if items left in rooms aren't returned there?! I know, for a fact, the items were left in the room and can recall exactly where the items were left, but they were not brought down by housekeeping to lost and found?? After countless hours speaking to hotel staff and lost and found getting nowhere, I was transferred to security who was no help at all! After explaining the situation to security, they said they were going to look at security cameras and interview the housekeepers...do they really think a)they're going to admit to taking something or throwing it out or b) that if it was taken, they'll leave with the items in plain view?! After not hearing from them over 24hours later, I had to call them only to hear that the housekeepers said they didn't find anything in the room (shocking???!!!) and the tapes showed nothing being taken (also shocking) and the security supervisors only advice was to contact tribal police. At one point, security actually tried to blame the guests that were there the following day. If that was the case, that would mean that housekeeping never cleaned the room after we checked out. Really Foxwoods, that is your best solution/response after all of the times I have visited this hotel? No further person to contact for any resolution?! Starting to understand why they only have three stars on here.. read more

Very nice hotel. I kept receiving offers for free nights and finally had the chance to use one. Making the reservation was so easy through their website, took me under a minute. I chose a regular room, king sized bed and that's what I got. Check in was quick and easy. There were 2 people ahead of me, I had about a 5 minute wait. The girl who checked me in was super nice and friendly, asked me if I had a floor preference and I said the higher the better because I love the views from there (that's why I chose Fox Tower over the other hotels) and she gave me the 27th floor. The room itself was beautiful, same size as any other hotel room. The bathroom was awesome, everything was clean.. I have no complaints at all.. The bed was very comfy, had a hard time falling asleep but that was because I drank coffee to stay awake at bingo! I didn't hear any noise from other rooms or hallways. Check out was just as quick and easy as checking in. Beautiful lobby too, with the wall fountain and the fountain in the center. Will definitely stay here again, even though its about a mile walk to the bingo hall, and a little spooky walking though the outlets after they were all closed. The excellent service and the view made it totally worthwhile. Can't wait to come back again! read more

This was such an outrageous lack of respect from the bartender at Centerbar that I have to warn other helpers not to go to that bar. They likely won't be served within 20' anyway. I usually don't write bad reviews because I don't want to waste time on mediocrity but I feel the need to do a service to society and prevent customers from going to that bar. Hopefully a manager will read this review and coach staff on proper bar tending. My fiancé and I went to the casino to support our coach who was fighting at the WSOF. After the fight we went to buy drinks for 4 of us while other friends were waiting on the other end of the bar. For the longest time, our waitress didn't even bother look up to us. Our friends also had to wait 15' to get serve and were getting very impatient as well. Then after a few more minutes I decide to inter expel our bartender with a polite "Ma'am", which got answered with such arrogance and attitude. "Okay, but we've been 20'" to which I get a condescending "you haven't been waiting for 20' honey." Okay Lady, I have a f***cking watch and I'm an engineer from MIT, so I think I'm qualified to count until 20. And, I'm the customer, I asked nicely, so at least I expect a courteous answer. A couple was sitting next to us and told me they noticed how unfair and arrogant she was to me. After a couple more minutes, they actually gave up and got drinks elsewhere (rightfully so). Being determined to get a drink for our coach and our friends, I'm still waiting for the bartender to do her job and take my order. She told me she was operating counterclockwise, so that since I was in the corner I'd be last. What the hell? I know a lot of people who work in the night life industry and none of them suck that bad at serving customers in a timely manner. Bar tending can be exhausting, I totally get it, but I feel no compassion for that bartender at all. There's no polite word to describe her attitude towards me, as noted by not only my friends but also by passers. So the guy next to me PLACED MY ORDER BECAUSE HE SAW I WASNT BEING HELPED. My friends got their drinks but I didn't get anything for me, as I didn't want to spend any additional cent on Centerbar. read more

most comfortable bed ever, pillowtop was at least three inches thick. Everything still looks clean as it is pretty new, bathroom products are not that good. If I could give this place no stars, I would. My friend booked a directors suite for his birthday. When we arrived, we were told that they overbooked and were downgrading our room. They only took $25 off of the price (we paid $460 for one night) and refused to let us speak to a manager. They also told us that a cot would be an extra $23 but after being redirected to a supervisor, we were told that no cots were available. We are now paying over $400 for a small room. We have been to this casino numerous times, have stayed here a number of times, and this is the absolute worst customer service we have ever gotten. If it wasn't so late at night we would've turned around to go back to Boston or stayed at a different hotel. This is not the way you treat loyal customers. Overbooking your hotel rooms is not the fault of your customers. If you can't make similar accommodations, don't overbook. read more

Let's begin ...it is a gorgeous, sunny Sunday and I was bringing the love of my life, sister and her boyfriend which we were meeting for the first time. We park and walk up to the box office. The young gentleman let's call him Johnny as to not reveal his identity greeted us with an unsure look as we were in our swimsuits. Hello Johnny I would like to purchase four tickets to your liquid Sunday pool party. Young Johnny looks at us and says oh sorry we are sold out. I look perplexed as we have been coming for years and never had this issue. Next, he told us follow the long hallway and ask the hostess at the pool. We walked down the long hallway and met the hostess. She said , oh I'm not the one to ask please go talk to that young woman near the pool. We walked over and said she said sorry we are booked but we can put your name on the wait list. We got there at 1130 and she said you can expect a call around 3. We left and had lunch. After lunch we walked back and there was nobody even in the pool area but they claimed to be booked. We asked about the wait and they said you are not getting in here please leave. We left, and an hour later received a phone call that we can come to the pool. Foxwoods fuck you! read more

I stayed at the Fox Tower back in October of last year. I never took the chance to review, but after staying at Mohegan last week there is no comparison. After my great experience at Mohegan I just had to review this horrible hotel so people know its worth taking the extra 15 minute drive to another casino! We paid by groupon for two nights. First off the room was disgusting, nothing like it had looked in the picture. I felt like I was at a motel that's how bad it was. It was upsetting because we were there for our vacation and I felt like they put us in the worst room just because we had purchased from groupon. The room was so gross my fiance and I couldn't even stay the next night. There was even urine on our toilets when we first got there :( I literally had to re-clean my own room just in order to sleep there one night. We went to check out and I believe his name was Jesse was very nice in trying to accommodate us to another room. We politely declined because if our room was that dirty so is every other room in the hotel. He stated he couldn't give us our money back because we purchased through groupon (no problem because I didn't ask for my money back)! So we ended up cutting our trip short, again no problem would rather be in my clean house. To top it off when I got home I saw an extra charge on my card. Of course I called and I got a woman manger on the phone who wasn't the best when it came to customer service. She informed me that the charge for the extra night that we had stayed? Im sorry? What an extra night i left early? So she looked into and finally found that I had paid for two nights already and it was an error and now had to wait 5 business day for them to refund me my money. This hotel is a joke! All they care about is money, not hospitality. Which is sad because Foxwoods is a great casino (not hotel). Any who just wanted people to stay clear of this place and the extra 15 minute drive to Mohegan is deff worth it :) read more

Just returned home after a 2 night stay at Fox Tower. Bed was comfortable but the bedding was annoying. Stiff and noisy. Shower will knock you down, it's very powerful. Sink in bathroom wouldn't drain properly but we weren't in the room enough to make a big deal of it. It was our first time here and it was ok. Front desk staff all seemed as if they hated their jobs, not friendly or overly helpful. They could take some lessons from the staff at MGM Grand Detroit. Didn't care for their casino at all. The music that they play was so loud and irritating that we went to the room at 10pm which we never do in a casino. Hubby and I both had horrible headaches from it. There were maybe 6 people in the casino under 60 and everyone of us old folks were annoyed by the music..just turn it down. The 6 young people can hear it fine. Glad I got to see Foxwood but wouldn't go back. Over priced and over hyped. read more

Our initial impression is not a good one. We have been waiting to park for nearly 20 minutes! Get there early, as you'll likely have to wait to either valet or self-park! read more

I've stayed at the MGM Grand twice now - once last year and once just a few days ago - and found it consistently enjoyable. Last year, I was at Foxwoods for a conference, and the MGM handled the large group very well. The meeting rooms were perfect for what we had to do, and they even had a casino night where dealers taught all the conference participants how to play several games. At that casino night, I won the blackjack tournament - and a second stay to use before the end of the year, and that's what brought me back last week. I was happy to be back. The hotel rooms are comfortable and stylish all-around. The location is good too - just a short walk away to most of the casino action. The views from the hotel rooms aren't great - last year we had a better view of the area, but this year we got to look at the top of parking garages and the casino buildings, but it's not really a problem. It's a nice hotel, and staying there makes for a fun casino night. read more

Let me just start off by saying this review is based solely on fox tower not any of the other hotels . I have stayed at foxwoods resorts for the last 15 years and this was by far the worst experience of my life . We checked into our room yesterday very quickly as we had dinner reservations that we needed to get to. I notified the front desk that the room was dirty and needed to be cleaned . They sent housekeeping up and all they did was vacuum and left. We did not return again to our room until 1:00am at that point we noticed the wifi did not work we had no cell signal and only one outlet in our room worked. Then we tried the Tv no go it was turning on and off by itself . I called down to the desk and they offered to move us but who wants to move at 1:30 am . So the manager offered to credit us half of our room. Then on to the room service we ordered the loaded nachos which was dry chicken squirt cheese and most of them were dry and French onion soup which I have named French oil soup. This morning we checked out and I suggested they should fix the room before giving it to someone else . The manager came out and said she refunded our room service . Honestly I should have been comped a free night to come back again and make me feel better about the hotel but they gave me back half a night rediculous . Would not stay there again unless it's free night . Disgusted read more

This was my first visit to this casino and Fox Towers. I was very much looking forward to a luxurious room, hearing our friends rave about it all the time. The room was very nice, but looks like it's in need of some cleaning. The desk lamp had about a 1/4" of dust on it...I ran my finger along the top and it left a long line. Not very comforting. One of the pillows also had a huge rip in the side. Shouldn't housekeeping notice these things when they make the beds? The pillows are horrible, too. They have no support at all. There looked like there was some kind of liquid that has been splashed all over the wall in the bathroom and never cleaned up. At 945 the morning of checkout, housekeeping bangs on the door and says they need to clean the room. I tell them we aren't ready to let them in, that we are still dressing for the day. She then walks down the hall, mumbling in Spanish. Rude! Isn't checkout 11?? There were empty beer bottles at the base of the elevators going up to the rooms. One of the water features by the older casino was not working, and looked like it hadn't been for a long time. If they can't fix a water feature that the customers see in the main building, what else aren't they fixing? There was also a new car next to the Keno area that you could win- this car had about an inch of dust on it also. Doesn't management know that if people see a CLEAN new car, they are more apt to try and win it? I don't usually post reviews, but I was so disappointed with this casino and hotel that I really wonder if I'll even go back. The highlight was the happy gentleman at checkout that had a very sunny disposition and thus made us smile! read more

Went there for a Louis C.K. Show. The line to check in was long and slow, especially for a Thursday. The lobby was nice and then we went up to the hotel room. The room was nice with a decent view but there was a large metal grate that had fallen off of a vent on the floor with some plaster around it. The show was very good and the drinks and bar were both decent. Some of the surrounding stores were nice. The next morning we went to get breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel and the food was atrocious. We sat outside on a bland gray patio with a server who had no idea what she was doing. Nice girl but clearly was overwhelmed. The real issue was with checking out and billing. When I got my credit card statement they had charged me twice for the room, not to mention the massive hold they put on your account initially. I tried to call them to let them know about their error. There was a forty minute wait before I could talk to a real live person. Forty minutes is insane. I was eventually able to speak with a human after what seemed like an eternity. He spoke broken English and told me I was wrong several times. Eventually he put me on hold, perhaps to talk to someone who knew what they were doing, and admitted to the error. He then said I would be credited in 3-5 business days....insane considering it was their error. He then told me to call back in a week in case it doesn't go through. Complete incompetence. I will never consider staying at this hotel again after their mistakes and then complete lack of customer service. Had I not checked my bill and followed through, I would have casually been out several hundred dollars. read more

I stayed 2 nights at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in a Producers Suite for my 30th birthday in August 2012. I viewed the rooms online, looking for a nice suite. The photos on their website showed different colors for each, but the exact same bathroom. I called to find the difference in the suites since they were identical in price and I could only see differences in color schemes. The rep. that helped me said the ONLY difference was that the sitting area in the Directors Suite had a wall so it was a separate room where as the Producers Suite's sitting area was in the room itself. I asked about the bathrooms. Are they identical? He said yes. Same tub, same layout etc. The photos showed a large window where the tub is. When I checked in this was not the case. The bathroom was on the inside, no window. Not too big of a deal I guess, just not what I was told. I would have booked a Directors Suite if I knew this was a difference. It would be beneficial if the website was updated to show this. The room itself was not bad. It was in the very middle of the hotel in the bubble that pops out, overlooking the pool. First room right by the elevators. I thought I would hear people and/or the elevators and I did not. I have always stayed at Mohegan and felt that their rooms are much nicer and that this room was just OK. The furniture was all nicked and the couch had small stains on it. Definitely could be more of a party room than a luxury room. I wanted to order room service after I got situated and had a little trouble. The menu book said to press the room service button on the phone, but there wasn't one. Had to call the front desk to get the direct extension. Food arrive quickly and was very good. While getting ready for the night I had an unexpected knock at the door. A very sweet employee was there with a little chocolate cake, bottle of wine and card wishing me a Happy 30th. That was a very nice surprise and brightened my mood. The bathroom was very nice (other than missing a window...) and the shower was amazing. Large shower head with great pressure. The tub was HUGE and very relaxing. Overall, I think that there are pros and cons to MGM and I am not sure that I would stay again. Here are some comparisons between this room and the cove suite at Mohegan Mohegan has Kuerig Coffee Maker - MGM Blah coffee in plain Coffee maker Mohegan provides extensive toiletries, sewing kit, shoe shine, shave kit, tooth brush - MGM had standard shampoo, conditioner, soap MGMs bed was TO DIE FOR!! MGMs tub was larger & deeper and had jets - Mohegan no jets smaller tub MGMs shower was amazing. Wonderful shower head - Mohegan rickety low end shower head Mohegans flat screen TVs were larger, 42" apposed to what I think were 32" tvs MGM has Shrine Need I say more?? Overall casino experience at MGM wasn't special. I only ventured over to the Foxwoods side once. I think we are spoiled with Mohegan overall decor and ambiance. Check in at MGM had a very VERY long. From the time I walked in to the time I got my key, 47 minutes passed. I arriveed at 3:30p, so maybe it's just the 4PM check in rush. I've never had to wait that long elsewhere. MGM didn't have any security at the elevators going to the rooms. Being there alone made me a little nervous. Mohegan has men at both elevators checking keys. That's about it! read more

We stayed at the Fox Tower over the weekend and was quite disappointed. The room smelled like moldy mildew, our bed didn't have a fitted sheet or comforter on it and housekeep knocked on our door at 10am and 1015am even though we had our "Please Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and checkout was at 11am. Upon checking out we stopped at the front desk to tell them our issues. We had to repeat ourselves three times because the front desk lady was NOT listening to us and brushed us off. She printed out our receipt and said "Have a nice day." We got no apology for the mishap on their part. Don't waste your time and money on this disgusting hotel. No wonder they're always on Groupon practically giving their rooms away because no one wants to return after being there. It's quite unfortunate that they didn't want to acknowledge or take responsibility for giving us a crappy room that smelled, wasn't made properly and for their disturbing and rude housekeeping staff because the outcome of this situation could've been different. Now I will NEVER return and I will tell everyone I know about the horror story there. read more

We have stayed here a few times. Last time we paid extra for the directors suite. We were less than impressed, however we decided to give it another shot. At check-in we told them of our last experience and that we wanted to give it another shot and that's why we chose fox tower again. The front desk person assured us it would be an updated room and that it was the "VIP" floor. The only thing " VIP" about it was that you needed to use your key in the elevator to get to that floor. Other than that, there is nothing "VIP" about it. It's a long ride up and down the elevator, the furniture is chipped and worn, the sheets are like sand paper and the bed was so worn out. This place needs a major update! When we asked for extra blankets we were told they were "sold out". Then my husband went down to complain about the no extra blanket situation and a blanket magically appeared. Almost as if they were only giving extra blankets to certain people. So wierd. We also visited the Gspa. My husband and I had massages that were not good at all. The spa receptionist was rude and couldn't be bothered and the spa could use some updating. If you like new, clean updated hotels this is not the hotel for you. read more

Came for a two night stay. Used a Groupon for a decent price. There's not much to do here except gamble, eat, and go to the spa. Nice spa for the price. It's cheaper during the week, and more expensive during the peak seasons. Tanger outlets which is attached to the hotel is a great shopping experience. read more

When 4 people check into a room, should there not be four towels in the room? What kind of cheap hotel refuses to provide 4 towels to a room for 4... and then after being asked a few times, what kind of hotel makes you stay in the room to sign for scratchy towels. And then the person delivering can only say "that's the protocol" when the towels are finally delivered. As only one of many annoying and unprofessional things about this place, I have no intention of returning. read more

When we come to Foxwoods, we normally stay in a corner suite at Grand Pequot. This time we had a groupon for a producer suite in the Fox Tower, so we decided to change it up. The good: Fox Tower is in the "newer" part of the casino. Checking in was less hectic (although at Grand Pequot, staying in a suite allows you to take advantage of the VIP check-in, which is a very nice experience). The forest view was beautiful. The bathroom was very nice. The not-so-good: we had to call the front desk 3 times for broken items in our room (non-functioning iron; leaking toilet; something else I can't remember. There were other smaller things, too that I kind of feel dumb about even mentioning, but as a whole, they added up - the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, some of the lights didn't work, the iPhone docking station was only compatible with iPhone 4s or older. We told the bellhop and the person who checked us out about all of our issues, but no one really seemed to care. If we come back again, we will probably not stay at the Fox Tower. read more

The MGM Grand Foxwoods is a good deal if you can get a room on an off day (around $100-$200 depending) That having been said it's over rated and there are some several issues I have with the hotel. From the parking garage to the check in desk, to the Hotel Elevators is far too long of a trek when you are carrying all of your luggage with you up to your room. You have to shlep your belongings across the casino which is a pain. Clearly, the MGM Casino and Hotel was poorly planned out in relation to the rest of the Foxwoods resort. The Check in process in and of itself was a tedious, frustrating hassle. They need to get more staff to man the slow moving Front Desk or stop charging such high rates. Let me make something clear, I get a kick out of this place but I would NEVER pay full price to stay here (Especially on a weekend) Even for the discount room price I think there are similar Foxwoods hotels (while not as fancy) that are much less frustrating to check in and out of. Oh, and they charge guests $15 to use the Indoor Pool/Exercise area and sometimes on Sundays they Charge you to use the outdoor pool as well because there's some DJ contest event. If I stayed here (paying such a high price on a Sunday) to find out I was being charged for the pool I would be very aggravated. read more
