We stayed at this hotel as part of a group for an event at the casino. There were multiple issues with my billing, including getting charge full price for two rooms an additional night AFTER I had checked out (not even at the event promotional rate). The even was a dance competition with hundreds of girls ranging in age from 8 - 18. The hotel decided to schedule filming of their commercial during one of the days which resulted in them shutting down the pool for a day. It was honestly the dumbest move I've ever heard of. I cannot believe no one thought a group of children would want to swim over a promotional video. To compensate, the hotel offered one woman a $25 credit toward food because she was so disappointed and the hotel obviously agreed with her. However, when others approached the front desk for the same compensation they told me I could walk to another pool across the buildings away. And the woman at the desk was so indignant about it. I had such high expectations for this hotel. I liked the room, but was SO disappointed in the issues that arose for a hotel that is supposed to be 4 diamonds. That has to be a fake ranking. There is just no way. read more

Hello all! I want to share an experience with everyone to make sure you do not plan a bachelor/bachelorette party at this location for your friends! This review is specifically for Shrine...but I will add other details about the hotel: About Shrine: I was in communications for many weeks with a Mr. John Cammarata, Director of VIP Services at Shrine inside the MGM at Foxwoods in CT. We were planning a bachelorette party for one of my friends. I asked him to send me a price for the event. We were planning the event for Saturday, May 31st. At first John quoted me a price of $400 to cover all of our drinks, our entrance to the club, and our own private area. A few e-mails later, John realized I was actually talking about a Saturday night and changed the price to $900. I pointed this out to John and he apologized and lowered the price to $800. He seemed very confused about what he was quoting me. I verified with him, over the course of several e-mails, that this $800 would include specific types of alcohol I had requested, our entrance to the club, and our own private area for the evening. John always had very short responses but did verify that the $800 would include whatever 3 alcohols we choose and all of the previously mentioned amenities. John also confirmed these beverages would be waiting for us on our arrival Saturday, May 31st. On the evening of May 31st, myself and 11 other girls entered the club, Shrine, and the drinks were not actually waiting for us. We had ordered a bottle of Patron, Grey Goose, and Bacardi. None of these drinks were there . It was around 10:30 in the evening and we were told that if we wanted those three liquors the price would be over $1200. Basically, they try to bate and switch you. They give you this excellent price and when you get there - try to charge you hundreds more.. I have e-mailed proof that we were supposed to get those three liquors for $800. I had to speak with the management who refused to give us what they had said they would, even though I had the e-mails with me. John was working that evening and refused to come speak with us. They ended up giving us half of what was agreed upon and for a higher price then agreed upon and forced us to sign the receipt or we wouldn't receive anything. Being that it was a bachelorette party, we were duped and had to except the charges. Since this event, I have tried to get into communication with everyone over there, including management and they all feel this was an unfortunate event - but offer no resolve or apology. I have been told that the managers of Shrine will call me - and they never have. About the hotel: Three months in advance we booked two rooms at the MGM portion at Foxwoods. The week of, we called to reconfirm and they told us they put one of the rooms in a separate tower and now MGM was completely booked so they couldn't move us. This being a bachelorette party, we did not want to be in separate towers! We wanted to be together! Again, I had to call around to several members of management to get this issue resolved. Many members of the staff basically told me that since I did not have a record of gambling at their casino (even though I do now!) they would do nothing for me. Their attitude was horrible. It seems like management at this resort has no idea what they are doing. I actually am a hospitality professional myself and could not believe they could go on operating like this. Do yourself a favor and go to Mohegan or AC. :) read more

We stay at Foxwoods for nights away often. It's our go to, because we always loved the hotel at Foxtower and we really liked the red lantern restaurant. Last time we went in March and I messed up and booked a moth late, so we stayed at a cheaper location on that stretch and went to dinner and such anyway. THIS time, I just wasn't impresse. For over 500 a night the room should feel luxurious. There were a lot or minor updates that could be made to help. Hell, we stayed at Greatwolf lodge this summer and had better room. They need different pillow types on the beds...soft and firm for which ever you prefer (I love the super smushy down pillows and tons of them...these were hard and my head was at a wei angle. Bathroom looks great initially but needs a new counter and sink sprays water everywhere. The tub was amazing. The shower leaked water ALL over the floor because the door didn't have a good seal. Bed was great due to size, but very bouncy, so that when someone moved all were waking up. Again I really like staying at Foxwoods but may reconsider next time, since I can stay somewhere for half the cost, get a comparable room. And my bad it was closer to $600 a night! read more

Stayed at the Fox Tower for my girlfriends bday on a Monday night. We were in our Directors Suite for all of 20 minutes besides the time we slept. We did have a good time at dinner and the casino for sure. However, every interaction at this hotel was awful, I called for a late check out, the lady basically yelled because I asked for 1pm, when we checked in at 8pm. Well surprise surprise, after we checked out my CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED AN EXTRA $200 FOR "DAMAGED FURNITURE" in our hotel room. We were literally in our room for 20 minutes. I completely regret staying here. This place is trying to scam people, there's no question there was nothing wrong with our hotel room when we left. I called and asked for an explanation and everyone I spoke with was incredibly rude. And wow what an awful establishment. read more

This place is a mile walk to the Starbucks. Literally. Too far from the main goings-on. This is just the beginning of the problems for me at Foxwoods. One night was enough for me. Too big is definitely not better. Unsympathetic management staff also did not add to our mediocre experience. They act like the place is the only game in town in New England. Room rates change by the hour around here. Up. I refuse to pay a ransom to free me from the Foxwoods boondocks aka Fox Tower. Thank God for The Borgata. read more

Our stay here was nice because it was so convenient being in the casino. The hotel is in the casino so it's totally safe to just drink and go to your room. The room was nice and clean and modern. I knocked down 2 stars because service was not so great. I asked beforehand if they could do anything special for my husband's birthday and they were not helpful. Most hotels are quick with this! When we checked in, the lady was not super friendly either. I would return though, just because of the ease of access into the casino! read more

didn't stay here, but spent the day here. for Thanksgiving this year, my aunt, my cousin and I came to MGM Grand at Foxwoods. my aunt is an avid visitor/customer here and had coupons for free lunch, credits to use to gamble, and also free tickets to the show that was happening at the MGM Grand Theater that day (Joyce Lee and Phil Chang) originally, we were under the impression that we would be eating at the buffet, but the staff directed us to the ballroom at MGM Grand for dining. makes sense, since it was Thanksgiving, they opened up one of their large ballrooms, put in about 100 tables and buffet lines going in the middle of the room. we were all pretty surprised that the food was pretty good. they had a mix of Chinese food and American Thanksgiving food (based on all the maybe 1,000 people in the room, this was definitely all geared towards the Chinese crowd). it was very nice that they had a lot of catering staff working. the catering staff were all very friendly and there was never empty trays of food - the staff was very on top of refilling everything, cleaning tables once they were left, etc. this made it seem to me that this hotel's catering department had things organized and handled well. the MGM Grand side of the hotel is also pretty nice, and also really big. till this day, i always wondered why most casinos are in the middle of nowhere (aside from going to places like Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, etc)... this place is huge! there's lots of fun shops and food places also available. lastly, we watched the show for that day in the MGM Grand Theater - both my cousin and I thought that the theater was gorgeous inside. very nice and large theater, and good acoustics going on. overall, it was a pretty fun and interesting Thanksgiving here - I won some money, got free food, and got to watch a free show. not too shabby! read more

Foxwoods is pretty cool in general, and I like the FoxTower. It is the most convenient to the Grant Theatre and the Outlets! Always bumping and always something to do. My hubby and I have been twice recently and the staff is very courteous and helpful and we have had a good time! read more

I will NEVER stay here again. The room was clean, we had a great check in and check out (I believe his name was Denotas? Very nice and extremely professional) However.. I just noticed there were two charges on my credit card, a charge for $397 that was charged for the night we stayed and then another charge for $497 which was charged to my card for yesterday.. That makes no sense because we stayed only one night on 2/7 and the second charge was for 2/9. So, I called and the lady at the desk who was SO RUDE and told me it was an authorization charge.. FOR ANOTHER $500!? THATS CHARGED ANOTHER TWO DAYS AFTER IVE STAYED?! I've NEVER heard of that and I've stayed here numerous times.. An authorization charge is usually $100 for incidentals not $500! Then she had the audactiy to tell me to take it up with my bank? Why would I take it up with my bank if they're the ones charging me !?!? Then when I told her, "Well, I'll be sure to let you know if that charge doesnt clear" In an extremely annoyed tone she responds with "Great." I hope whoever is on duty today can track down who this nasty woman was because I am disgusted with the way she treated me... It's not an extra $100 charged to my card its $500 and she was the most rude person I've ever dealt with. read more

This place is great! Comfortable seating, spacious leg room and CLEAN. My hubby and I went to see Jerry Seinfeld here for his birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased. We had great seats to begin with, but I have seen shows here in seats as far in the back as you can get, and as high up as you can get and they were STILL good seats. NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE! Big screen TVs on both sides of the theater that allow you to see your entertainment up close. VERY NICE PLACE and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Stayed here on May 5th, waited over 30 minutes in line to check in. Terrible service, one person at the check in counter over 20 empty check in computers. Manager was requested, he was clueless offered no help. They would not match Hotels.com rate posted on the phone so had to book with Hotels.com to get the rate, they sent me to the back of the line..... Double charged me for my room put on hold while they looked for a manager to resolve. I have never seen such poor service poorly run hotel. Room was very nice and clean but will never come back and I recommend you stay clear of this hotel they will double charge you and not resolve the issue. read more

This is usually my go to hotel at Foxwoods when I have a free night... very clean, nice pool and good amount of gaming and machines downstairs. Also close to the outlets and restaurants. The Fox Tower is NOT on par with Mohegan Sun in terms of the quality of hotel and customer service. We had a Directors Suite that overlooked the parking garage on the 6th floor. The front desk told us no other rooms were available. The Suite bathroom was grand with a European style soaking tub and shower. Everything else was a step down from Mohegan, nothing specific but the hotel lacked the luxurious feeling and staff seemed harried. The concierge desk wasn't staffed, there were long waits in line at checkout. I was very annoyed with the hotel putting a substantial hold on my credit card equal to an additional night, plus and extra $100. I called to complain and was told the charge would be dropped in 3-5 days....that's playing games with $385 of MY MONEY and I don't like it! Next time I'm staying at Mohegan Sun. read more

Yeah even for 50% off this was a total rip off !! There's a lot of wasted space that could be filled with bars or restaurants when you have to walk a mile to get somewhere with something to do. All of Foxwoods stops serving alcohol at 12 on a Thursday.... Which made us stop gambling... Wicked Smart. The men's rooms were filthy. Only 2 places to get food at that time also... The hotel only has breakfast in the am for their room service. The tv is from like 1999 as are the channel selections. The 24 hr convenience store charged $19 for 4 items. GO TO MOHEGAN !!!! read more

I'm attending a wedding and Fox Tower told the Bride her guests had until a certain date to book rooms under the group rate yet when I called to make my reservation the guy rudely explained that the group was closed. I told him there must have been miscommunication. Instead of apologizing, he informed me of "one last room available for $650 a night if not then have a good day". HA! Perhaps they should work on their customer service skills when there are hotels surrounding the area for far less money. So if were not paying for location or customer service...what are we paying for to stay there?? read more

I decided to pack the wife up and head to Foxwoods for an overnighter, staying in the Fox Tower. We've been to Foxwoods and the "other" casino before but the overnight room rates are usually priced brutally high for the common man but I tripped over a Groupon that made the trip more affordable, especially on Monday night. We even took the $$$ upgrade to a suite. I do love their rooms. So nice. The Fox Tower is the hotel / casino set off from the main building off the beaten path with Lower foot traffic. The main hotel casinos and restaurants are only a 10 minute indoor walk so you're never really that far away from the other action. When making this mini-hike I recommend cutting through the Tanger outlets. It's probably the same amount of time but a little more pleasant than walking along the outer perimeter of the hotel. Great comps at Foxwoods so definitely get the player card. With one night of casino play I got comped enough for the breakfast buffet for 2, a slice of Junior's Cheesecake, with points left over, waaaaaay more than anya AC casino. Anyhow, this is such a nice place. Highly recommended.we made our donation/contribution to the CT economy and had a good time doing it. read more

We planned this whole trip around our children as they had a day off from school today . 1st thing that happened was the receptionist at check in handed us the green paper to use at Resturant for our 15$ credit from using Groupon which we never used because we were embarrassed when she told us how to use it and we did and the woman asked for a room number which we didn't have . The receptionist said all we needed was my iD , hotel I was staying in. She knew we didn't have a room number because she didn't have a room ready yet . So then while at the Resturant I called and tried to get a room number to help with processing the 15$ credit and the couldn't help me , obviously for security purposes. Then asked that the server call them herself which in a busy Resturant I did tell her but she made a strange face and told me to complain about this ! And she just removed the 15 credit and charged us and never called the hotel. Then our trip was planned around the pool being open for the girls who are 5 and 8 . We walk all the way down to the cedar pool to be told "there were too many people this weekend and it needed maintenance, they needed to drain it and clean it all out". If this was the case , why weren't we told at check in or have a sign along the mile long walk I just had to walk with 2 excited kids . Now they are crying and upset . All the way back to the hotel to get dressed again and put away our life jackets with two miserable kids. We then had to spend an outrageous amount of money to keep them entertained . I just feel like we paid for a room a "pool maintenance " should probably be done overnight not during open pool hours . A simple courtesy of letting the guests know upon check in would have been great because we honestly would have just had dinner and spoke to a manager and had our room canceled . As the one thing they wanted to do was go in the pool. The room smelled like cigarettes. read more

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this time was a must after not only once, but twice dealing with Tony at the front desk of Fox Tower. Tony is the reason we have continuously stayed at Fox Tower, so thank you Fox Tower and thank you Tony. read more

The overall service -- particularly the front desk personnel -- was mediocre at best. The rooms and public spaces are nice, Junior's Restaurant was (as always) first rate, but Alta Strada was a huge disappointment. The folks at MGM Grand at Foxwoods really ought to pay more attention to the basics -- customer service is just as important as quality accommodations. Check-in was unpleasant. No smile from the front desk clerk. No attempt by the front desk clerk to make us feel welcome. Just a serious frown -- we were an imposition and he was not in a good mood. read more

My husband & I have been coming to Foxwoods since it opened . Now we go to MGM. Have been going since it opened. We checked in Monday & were offered a $5.00 ECO Coupon. We thought it was a coupon to save on changing of linens & using less towels So we went about our day of activities. Back in the room at 8:00 p.m. The bed was never made, the wet towels were not replaced & the trash was not emptied. I called housekeeping & they sent up towels so we could shower for dinner. They were supposed to clean the room while we were at dinner. Back from dinner & room was not cleaned. My husband went to front desk to talk to manager. Manager told my husband the $5.00 coupon means no maid service. Really! We were there three days & and it was explained to us the right way. We would have never signed up for this coupon. I think Foxwoods is trying to cut corners by not having maid service. It was never explained to us at check in. In my opinion Foxwoods is scamming people into this. We were told that we could use the $5 coupon for food but when we tried to use it to pay for our room service breakfast they told us it could not be used for this. We were leaving that day and the coupon expired the next day, so how could we use it? I am posting this review to warn others of this scam at Foxwoods. For a high class restaurant it certainly is going down the drain. read more

Stay was Ok. Room was pricey, but we booked late and it was NYE weekend. For the non-gamblers, Foxwoods offers more to do than the other casinos in the area with shopping, spas. Resturaunt choices are good. My one big complaint: Room service! Outrageously expensive. If you try to call to book instead of filling out the card the night before, expect to be on hold for 20 minutes. I eventually gave up and never got to an actual person. Valet is slow as well. Overall, fine stay. Would come back when rates are cheap. read more

Decided to take a trip tonight. Yea I knew it was going to be pack, but I just had to see it. First off, it took about a 30 to 40 minutes to park. Only one way in and one way out of self parking. I'm a patient guy and besides, it was Saturday Night. Finally got a parking spot on Level P5 and went to the elevator only to be met by a large group of people who were also waiting for the elevator. Decided to walk down stairs which took a minute or two to get to the Hotel/Casino level. I then walked into the main casino (and the only one) and took in the beauty of the place. The place is BEAUTIFUL. Directly in front of me was the actual casino floor and to the left of me was a walk way that begins the circular route around the casino floor. To the right of me was also a walkway that begins the circular route around the casino floor. It was packed, but of course, it was Saturday Night. I took the right and walked towards the Juniors Restaurant. Whats cool about the Juniors restaurant is that they have a takeout area separate from the main Juniors restaurant. So if you wanted a sandwich or something to go, you didn't have to go into the restaurant. On this night, my companion and I decided to eat in the restaurant and gave our name to a woman at the cash register. After 20 minutes or so, we sat at a table in the middle and quickly got a couple of sodas and ordered our meals. I got the Roast Chicken while my companion got the fish and chips. Both meals were sufficient , but not something to brag to mom about. (Juniors, if you ever frequent there Brooklyn flagship restaurant, is famous for there cheesecake and breakfast) The bill came up to about 40 something dollars. I used my points which was a welcome surprise. The waitress was good so I gave her a good tip. After dinner, I wanted to see how the casino floor was so my companion and I ended up smack in the middle of the casino floor. I'm a Blackjack player, but we utilized 10.00 slot vouchers that were given to us when we got the new MGM/Fox woods rewards card. I parlayed that 10.00 into 130.00 by playing a $1.00 "offer" machine. (you slot enthusiast know which machine I'm talking about "1st offer, 2nd offer, 3rd offer) After losing about $30.00 of the winnings, my companion and I walked around the casino and realized that the Casino, compared to other Casinos, was quite small. I was disappointed that the Casino floor was so small. I asked a Security Guard if there was another section to the casino and he told me that this was it. I'm not a smoker and people were lighting up all around us. My companion and I decided to take a walk over to Foxwoods. Now the last time I came to Foxwoods, I said to myself that I won't be rushing back here anytime soon because the smoke in the casino was killing me. This time, we found the non-smoking area which was a distance from the Mgm. We played the machines for awhile and decided to walk back to MGM because that is where my car was parked at. I wanted to play blackjack, but all the tables in Foxwood and Mgm were packed. In Mgm, there were no tables under $25.00 as a minimum. Before we departed, saw a crowd forming at the bottom of the escalator and saw men and females gawking at someone famous, who we found out later was Carmen Electra. To wrap up, I think that this visit was to short to really make a good evaluation. I'm pretty sure that the play is going to be good in the Mgm, however if they don't get a handle on smoking, like they have in AC, then I probably will continue to play at the Bogota and other AC casinos. Those who don't smoke understand where I'm coming from. Also, I will not come play on a Saturday Night. It will have to be during the week. read more

We've stayed here in the past with no problems. This time we were comp'ed a room but no non smoking rooms were available. The room was on the 9th floor, it was very clean and well kept. But you could smell cigarette smoke (and wacky tabacky) as soon as the doors of the elevator opened. The weird thing is...I do smoke a little, but never in hotels. Entering the room, the odor just permeated it. We've stayed in numerous casino + other hotels, I've never smelled the odor like this before. We also weren't crazy about the coffee maker being in the bathroom. That doesn't seem to be too sanitary. My tip is...if you don't want to feel like you are staying in an ashtray, BE SURE to get a non-smoking room! read more

I keep coming back here for the MGM Grand theater. It's lovely, not too big, great accoustics, comfortable seats. I no longer enjoy the huge stadium concerts where the performer is so far away they are this tiny speck that I mostly watch on the screens. Here I can see who I am listening to. It takes a little over an hour from Springfield which isn't bad at all. We come for a few shows a year and always leave happy. Check it out. read more

First of all the hotel was really nice, my problem is that they bill your card $100 for over charges whether or not you charge anything to the room and if your deposit is with a debit card, they can take up to 21 business days to refund the extra $100. For a casino that is already raking in millions do they really have to take an extra $100 buck for 3 weeks? I won't stay there again. Now I have to watch my account for the next 21 business days. read more

Let me first start by saying it is no longer MGM. They call the hotel the Fox Tower now. The place is clean and staffed well with security. The hotel/casino also has a lot of popular Dj's come and play their lounge which pulls in a young adult crowd. The hotel rooms are nice and clean. The Casino floor has a wide range of slots and if your not happy with the selection you can just walk to any of the other casino floors. That's whatever makes Foxwoods great, everything is connected. read more

They call themsevles a 4-star hotel. I will admit that the hotel room is nice and the front desk people were very friendly. But having traveled all over the country, and having been to Miami and Vegas, numerous times, my stay at this place was not as good as I expected. I was very disappointed with the cocktail waitresses at the pool. I understand that it was busy because the weather was nice. But I had to ask THREE times for the food menu, and waited 1 hour before they gave me a menu? That's just ridiculous. And the waitress only gave us a menu after someone she was helping, near me, told her that she should help me out since I've been waiting for awhile for service. And to have the food come 45 minutes later, with a very disappointing turkey sandwich. I paid over $10 for a sandwich just turkey, lettuce and tomato - condiments on the side. Not even a pickle or chips with it. And after having to wait so long for my menu and food, I decided to order my cocktail drink when the food arrived, thinking since the service is slow, I'd have my drink within like 30 minutes. It was worst than I'd thought. My waitress forgot my drink completely. So, I didn't even get my cocktail until an hour later. Thank God, there was a bucket with compliment bottled water, so I'd been roasting in the sun and die of thirst. Three hours at the pool, with one a crappy sandwich and drink. It was just an awful wayto start my weekend of fun at Foxwoods. I've been to the most busy hotel pool I can imagine, at the Fontainebleau Miami, and for the two hours I was there with my friends, we all got at least 4 drinks. And the wait staff were so much more friendly and accommading than Foxwood's pool. This review is getting TWO stars because I liked the rooms. So, they didn't deserve a 1 or negative star. read more

The MGM shouldn't really be listed as a casino separate from Foxwoods. It is just one part of the huge complex known as Foxwoods. This is, to me, the least appealing part. Though there are fine upscale stores and a few excellent restaurants, Juniors being my favorite, there are no Asian games nor a poker room. For that you have to walk the 1/2 mile or so to Foxwoods proper. I don't see the point. Even so, the rooms are lovely, beautifully appointed and with all of the amenities one would expect from a top flight casino. But call it Foxwoods. It would be like listing the Fenway Bleachers as a different ballpark from the box seats -- or more aptly vice versa. read more

Needs to offer family friendly 'quiet' floors. We had to call security several times between 2-4 am due to loud room parties on the floor, 20 something guests shouting in the hallway throughout the night, slamming doors etc. Security tried to break up the party after the second call, but were unsuccessful in controlling their guests who drunkenly continued making a racket until daylight. We gave up and checked out 4 hours earlier than planned. Would have offered feedback to the hotel, but checkout staff never asked how the stay was.. or even thanked us for our stay (no kidding, she just handed us our receipt without a word). Awful stay which is a shame because the room was pretty nice. read more

Been staying in The Fox Towers at Foxwoods Casino for at least 20 years with no problems. This past weekend was a DISASTER! My Party (3 Couples) arrived Saturday for a Concert and then they would go home on Sunday with my Sister & I staying until Monday. I asked for late Check-Out (12:00 Monday) with no problem. What NO ONE told me was that EVERYTHING in Fox Towers was CLOSED Monday at 12:00 pm until Wednesday!!! EVERYTHING!!! We couldn't even get a cup of coffee!!! Thank God the Manager of Juniors took pity on me & got me a Seltzer (God Bless Her), but then when I tried to go back up to my room, my key wouldn't work in the Elevator. So I had to go back to the Front Desk to get a new key so I could go back upstairs & wait for the BellHop with my Sister. The Bell Hop (who was Awesome) took about 30 minutes (only BC he was the ONLY ONE Working) to arrive, yet we called at 20 minutes to 12. He had to take us & our Luggage through to the the Garage to get out BC everything was already closed at the front entrance of Fox Towers! Why hadn't anyone Informed us of this???? This was my experience at either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. We stayed at Foxwoods for two nights Super Bowl weekend. The MGM Grand has a separate entrance than the "main" Foxwoods casino. It is a beautiful entrance with valet parking or self park for free. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was one of the best I have seen in a hotel. The concierge was helpful and made reservations at various restaurants for us. The MGM grand has it's own casino which was nice. It had a good selection of table games and slot machines. There are three major restaurants at MGM Grand: Shrine, Craftsteak, and Alta Strada. We went to Craftsteak and it was delicious. Overall, it was a very nice hotel. It was a bit on the expensive side, but it did have a luxurious feel. read more
