I don't know what it is about the Four Alls, but it seems to have a little magic something about it.
It's not a massive pub. There's a little seating are at the front, another at the back, and a very long narrow bar that's a real pain to squish past when it's busy.
It has a beer garden, though it's all concrete slabs, no greenery, and in the middle of town with no view to speak of whatsoever.
There's no pool table, though there's a dart board and a electronic quiz machine.
It's not the best location, it's not the best equipped pub, but somehow it manages to feel absolutely perfect on a night out. You don't care about the minor short comings in the least bit!
The beer garden is large enough for loads of smokers, and there's ample seating and standing room, and half of it is under cover so rain isn't a problem. There's no pool table, but who cares when a crowd of six or more can huddle round the quiz machine and show off?
The staff are very good at their jobs, serve you quickly and in the right order too which means so much. Too many pubs have numpty staff that have no idea who should be served next, Four Alls isn't one of those.
You can even play cards or dominoes if it's quiet enough, so long as you're not playing for money. It's a great pub, and it's all down to the staff and the atmosphere, nothing to do witht he location or the entertainment etc on offer. read more
