The roasted potatoes were quite good. Our roasted parsnips we're overdone and quite flaccid. The mixed veg of carrots, broccoli and kale were steamed to just done, thankfully, but were not seasoned at all. Hard pass.

Considering that I've never seen them advertise, and passing trade must be at a minimum, the place must rely solely on recommendations for happy customers - of which they are sure to have many. I'm a repeat customer usually going for evening meals. Only once have I been disappointed with the quality of the meal, and that happened to be a Sunday afternoon. If you would like a truly delicious evening meal it's very much the place to go, the daytime/weekend staff might not be up to scratch, or perhaps, it was just an off-day. The food isn't cheap, but neither is it outrageously expensive. You pay a few quid more than some alternatives, sure, but you get good value for money.

We saw the bartender (whom I didn't catch his name) & we had a couple of questions but he kindly answered each & every one of them. Having two vegans from my party & myself being vegetarian, the chef & bartender were helpful in providing us their options. Once we placed our order my sister brought to my attention that they open at 12 though we were inside at 11:50. It was so kind of the two gents to help us & provide us with extremely great service. The outdoor area allows you access to this view, although I would add that you do have to put up with a busy road also. The drinks are priced quite well and the bar staff are friendly. I did have a terrible pint in there once, but, in what I thought was a touching gesture, I got my next drink for half price. I now think of that particular manager as a modern day Mother Theresa.

The pub is friendly enough to English visitors, just don't think the clientele are being rude if they continue their conversations in Welsh - that's just the way it is at The Globe (Y Glob). The bar is split between a relatively small, cosy bar area, and a ridiculously tiny and sweaty pool room. The pool room is good for a laugh during a quiet afternoon, stick the jukebox on, have a couple of pints and shoot some pool. Don't even bother in the evening though, especially not at the weekend!
