Fantastic little pub at the bottom of the High Street. It's a shame, but there's little reason to head that far into the bottom of town these days, everywhere seems to be closing down. The Skerries is a quality pub and will no doubt keep it's head above water for many years to come thanks to the dedicated locals and the huge amount of student houses in the area.
Skerries invariably have offers on bottled beers and certain alcopops, often selling them for £1 a bottle. There's also a wide selection of spirits, some of the house doubles are particularly cheap.
The pub isn't in fantastic cosmetic condition, but it doesn't bother those that frequest the pub. There's a good atmosphere there, a good laugh to be had, a fantastic selection on the jukebox, and a well positioned pool table with plenty of space to play around.
The beer garden is pleasant enough. It's fenced off from the street, and sadly is all concrete slabs as opposed to green grass, but it's a comfortable enough place to be in the summer or for smokers whatever the weather. read more
