Absolutely gorgeous food. Honestly, if you're heading out for a pub lunch, The Vaynol may be a couple of miles outside of Bangor and a bit middle of nowhere but you honestly won't be disappointed.
I've never been there late in the evening drinking, only ever visited the Vaynol for food. I wouldn't even know the place existed if it weren't for word of mouth, the place is hidden away off the main road! Considering that I've never seen them advertise, and passing trade must be at a minimum, the place must rely solely on recommendations for happy customers - of which they are sure to have many.
I'm a repeat customer usually going for evening meals. Only once have I been disappointed with the quality of the meal, and that happened to be a Sunday afternoon.
If you would like a truly delicious evening meal it's very much the place to go, the daytime/weekend staff might not be up to scratch, or perhaps, it was just an off-day.
The food isn't cheap, but neither is it outrageously expensive. You pay a few quid more than some alternatives, sure, but you get good value for money. read more
