Very impressed. The food was excellent, the service was quick and friendly even though they were very busy. Reasonably priced. Friendly atmosphere. Child friendly, including having a selection of board games to borrow. We'll be going back! read more

It was cooked to perfection. The gammon and egg was also really good as was the steak. Pub had a good atmosphere and everything was reasonably priced.

The only real negative is that there are no Vegan dishes on the food menu which seems quite an oversight for what is otherwise quite a cool, modern pub.

They botched next night's dinner reservation - we made reservations for three for 6.30; they put it down as two for 7.30...we went elsewhere. They wouldn't make up our room until we complained. Room was nice but smells exactly like wet dog.

The fish was so hard that it was almost impossible to cut with a knife, and of course difficult to eat and rather tasteless. The burger was similarly prepared. Each seemed to have been cooked earlier and left to warm and serve later. Truly disappointing. Suggest eating at the local alternatives.

Sadly the pub is often understaffed at busy times. The food is good, but the service can be slow and indifferent. The food prices are more in line with restaurants than other pubs in the area. Stick to drinks and you will have a good evening!

The Piss
This place is absolutely minging!…read more The owners clearly couldn't care less about how Tafarn Glanaber looks which is a real shame as it's in a beautiful spot and it used to be a nice place that was popular with holidaymakers and locals alike. There is a decked beer garden at the front which is really shabby and normally covered in cigarette butts. The kids play area that's alongside it is ok but also looks scruffy. As you walk into the pub itself there is a tatty conservatory-style entrance which includes customer seating areas. The seats themselves have huge holes in them with the sponge literally hanging out. The floor is also sticky and the walls need decorating. As you walk from the conservatory and into the main pub building things don't get much better. The place has a musty smell and most of the furnishings haven't been updated in 25 years. It's dark and dingy and not a nice place to be. The gents' toilet is absolutely disgusting and genuinely hasn't been improved in OVER 25 years! There is even the same out of order condom machine that has been painted by owners who clearly couldn't be bothered to remove it from the wall. I mean, how difficult is that?! I occasionally have a pint at Tafarn Glanaber and every time I'm shocked by what an absolute hole the place is. I even regularly find sand at the bottom of my glass! So ask yourself this question: If the people that own Tafarn Glanaber can't be bothered to keep it clean; make it look and smell nice; spend a small amount of money to update the customer seating/toilets etc how on earth can you trust them to cook your food? I would also add that if you think the front of the pub looks scruffy, try viewing from the back. It is filthy and looks like it's falling apart! That is the area where your food is cooked and bottles etc are stored! A message to the current owners: PLEASE SELL YOUR PUB TO SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY CARES. Until then it will remain one of the worst pubs I have ever been in. (Oh, and to prove how inept they are they even list fish dishes on the vegetarian menu!)
