My husband and I have been frequent customers of the Foundry. Always enjoyed going to our local restaurant. However, we have noticed in the past year a decline in the quality of the food and service. Last night, I went to the Foundry with my husband and family to celebrate new year. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. The food was cold, our beverages were warm, waiter hardly came to our table to check on us and there was no champagne toast at midnight as promised and advertised on the Foundry Facebook page. The champagne was distributed after we paid the bill and on our way out! All televisions were set to sports channels, instead of having at least one TV set to the new year's countdown. The entire night was a disaster! We would have been better staying home. The Foundry needs to get their act together! Such a shame. read more

Stopped by The Foundry on the 4th of July for some grub before the fireworks show. When we arrived they didn't look too busy (not a lot of people dining, no one waiting and they had a few tables open) so we were expecting to get sat right away. When we walked up to the hostess station we were told there was a 30-45 minute wait. Shocked and confused, I said ok and put our name on the "list" even though we were literally the only ones on it. After asking for a menu to look over I noticed a few open tables and asked the hostess about them. She seemed bewildered and said she'd be right back. Right after coming back she immediately sat us at one of the open tables. Obviously she had no idea there were 3-4 open tables outside on their patio for us to be sat at. So first impression wasn't the best. Our waiter wasn't that great either. Not very attentive or friendly. Took forever to come around to greet us, check on us throughout the meal and even bring us the check. Just took his sweet time with no urgency even though we told him we were hoping to make the fireworks show down the street. The food however was phenomenal. I ordered the sesame seared tuna salad which was delightful. Huge portion and everything including the seared tuna was so fresh. They had extended happy hour on drinks for the holiday which was really nice as well. Overall, the service from the hostess and waiter really brought down this review for me. Service and food were both great. They have a great variety on the menu and a seafood bar. I recommend the meatballs and chicken wings for appetizers. The pizza was very good as well with caramelized onions, zucchini, artichoke, and two different cheese. My friend and I came here for lunch today and it was fantastic. We were greeted by a smiling hostess and seated at a nice booth. There is outdoor seating, but it was too hot for us. The atmosphere here is captivating and the menu is fresh and extensive. We had a hamburger and an order of clams. The two items were absolutely delicious. The burger was medium rare, juicy and the french fries were piping hot. The steamers were served in a tasty broth with sausage and a nice thick slice of toasted bread. One of us had a few glasses of wine and the other had a whisky sour. The pours were adequate to generous and the waiter always kept an eye on us. We never had to look for him. Food here was incredible and I really like the industrial feel of the restaurant, reminds me a lot of the Matchbox at Sawgrass but without the second floor. Reservations can easily be made via OpenTable, valet is also available for only $5.00, that was great. Everyone enjoyed their dish, not many complaints besides the hibiscus mule not coming in a proper mule glass because they ran out of the glasses, therefore it didn't remain chilled & went down to room temp. Our waiter explained that they ran out of mule glasses because people are always taking the glasses home with them... unacceptable at best, this is a restaurant & if the mule is on the menu, there should be mule glasses.... so definitely false advertisement on the menu when it comes to that. Also, I would stay away from the hibiscus mule in general, it's definitely not the best cocktail on the menu... it's very bland but definitely alcohol filled. I tried a different cocktail and it was much better than the mule that wasn't in a mule. My cousin also said that he ordered his burger well done and it came medium rare so that's also not a positive. I had the herb chicken & string beans... that was great, definitely a good dinner opt. First & last time at the Foundry. They have a two major problems: first a health dept issue and poor food quality. We sat at the bar- then after we ordered we saw the first problem. They have a dishwasher for glasses that doesn't have a lid. So you can't close it, so it can't reach temp; therefore, glasses aren't disinfected. I thought maybe they were sending glasses to kitchen for cleaning but they were putting them in the broken machine, water running over the top & re using glassware. Food- 2) one of us ordered sushi stack - avocado was some kind of pre packed crap that doesn't taste anything like an avocado. Tuna was chewy. Never had raw tuna that was really chewy. 3) the only attention from server/bartender is smile & chatty at time of delivery of the bill- otherwise not available. Excited for an early the start to our weekend, my friends and I decided to to visit The Foundry hoping for some delicious drinks and good food. Instead, our experience was not as we expected. I understand whole heartily the stress of restaurants at times; however, I never expected our waitress to constantly make mention of it so many times. Even when ordering, she stated she was busy (which we can see) however, she ACTUALLY walked away in the middle of me ordering. Then, when we asked about it she replied "you never ordered that" Of course we didn't...you walked away in the middle of our order. Our food arrived all the same time (which we appreciated) however, even when the last order arrived, she had the nerve to place the plate on top of a plate THAT STILL HAD FOOD ON IT! She could have simply asked us to make room, or have requested help to clear our table. What makes the matters even worse a member of our party ordered a drink at around 5:20pm and has to remind her over 3 times we ordered a drink and it was never received. We had to keep reminding her we ordered a drink. We eventually decided to leave because we were already very annoyed at our service....then to makes matters worse the drink was on our bill although it never even came. Now on to the food... everything we ordered was sub par and not even considered mediocre. One of the items were two orders of wings which were sticky Asian and jerk bbq. Wings seemed pre cooked that were heated up with sauce tossed on top. Personally, I had way better wings, but would not say it is my worst. The jerk wings... it was not jerk at all. Overall, I can except a disappointment with food (because it's not the first place I've been disappointed with) but what I can't except with horrible service that's made clear to guests. read more

My friends and I vacationed in Florida summer of 2017, and this place was delicious and I am glad we found it. I got an amazing Sushi stack with tuna, and I died and went to heaven. If I ever come back to Pompano Beach, Florida, I would probably come back here again. The reason I will not give high stars is because one of my guy friends was wearing a tank top (mind you, we are in fricken Florida) and a waiter or the manager (don't know who) said, "Sorry, guys are not allowed to wear tank tops in our restaurant"... WTF. I didn't know that a guy's shoulder looked so much different than a woman's. I think it may be because men have armpit hair and maybe they don't want their customers to see it, but what if a woman didn't shave her pits? Would they not allow her in the restaurant because of this? Well, we basically said how ridiculous that is and we asked if we can sit outside then so that "no one will have a problem with us." They hesitated for a while and said fine, but the whole incident kinda ruined our service and our time here. The waitress seemed much more rude to us after everything that was said, and I think that is unacceptable... Mind you, this place is so close to the beach, so I don't understand how they can have that in their dress code. read more

Worst service. We were sitting for 40min with a group of friends and no one came to greet us or ask for our order. It wasn't until I called the manager that our waiter appeared, and tried to pretend he had been to our table before and started arguing with me in front of my friends and his boss!! Once we finally got our food, approximately 1hr after we sat down, the manager did come back to check on us and offered a free round of drinks. Unfortunately by then the whole experience had been ruined. The food was ok, overpriced for what it is (expected for this area) and the drinks were also decent. Our server was friendly, but for the 3 food items we ordered, he stopped by 0 times in-between eating to see how the dish was. What if it was awful and we were sitting waiting to switch it out? The happy hour menu is okay, drinks are good and decently priced, but the food listed isn't all that enticing to come back and order. My apple-tini was harsh. It was straight vodka and difficult to get down; could use more sour pucker or simple...Lol. Out of the 5 items listed for happy hour food, two are pizza, one of which we got was a margarita pizza. It was BLAND. Huge chunks of tomato and only 4 measly slices. The calamari was okay, perfectly breaded but the Kimchi aioli it came was extremely salty, good idea for making one want to order another drink ill give you that. The sushi stack was the real bread winner tonight, and probably the reason we would even give it another shot providing we received a decent server next time. The presentation is fantastic. You could tell the fish was fresh coming from someone who is around fresh caught fish daily. The guac was tasty, the crunchies on top were not stale, and the kimchi spicy mayo was the perfect amount of heat. Great for two people to share. The Foundry in Pompano is close enough to the action to be easy to get to, but far enough away where I don't necessarily recommend walking. Pros: The vibe was very nice. Service was prompt and correct, and they honored our reservations. The miso Brussels sprouts were notably good and the truffle fries tasted good, but were oddly short. The poke had no rice, which was odd but it still tasted good. Cons: The Foundry does not enforce their no smoking policy on the patio, which in turn leads smoke to make it into the open air restaurant. We requested a table away from the smoking and were told it wasn't allowed but there were multiple cigar smokers sitting and eating their food unabated, which wasn't appreciated. The grilled octopus was inedibly charred. The fish sandwich was meh. The margarita was strong, but not good tasting. Overall wouldn't recommend over similar vibed food in the area, particularly considering the price. read more

After our bowling practice, my wife recommended us to try this place which had been in her bookmark for a while. And I am glad we did. The place is located on Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach, right before the inter coastal. Parking might be a bit of challenge during dinner hours, but they do offer valet so it shouldn't be a problem. As usual, we sat down at the bar and started to explore their menu. Too bad the happy ours are only from Mondays to Fridays. We took a peek at the happy hour menu and it looked pretty good. I ordered a couple beers while my wife ordered a few cocktails. Not a huge beer selection but it's got most of my favorite beers on taps. We also tried a couple appetizers from their menu. The fire roasted wings was amazing. At first bite I thought the wings tasted a little bit sour, but then the after taste kicked in and it was spicy but too too spicy. We also ordered one of their wood fire pizza. The Big Smoke pizza was supposed to be spicy, but it was way to spicy it literally burned my tongue. I took one bite perhaps with the red pepper in it and my mouth was numbed for 15 minutes. Luckily the slices my wife tasted was fine and she enjoyed it a lot. We will still come back even I didn't particularly enjoy their pizza, at least for my spicy tolerance. They also have a very nice outside seating area and its pet friendly. I can see my wife is already planning to take our fur babies back for another visit, but the next time I will stay away from the spicy pizzas. read more

The foundry! What a great place! They have a nice outdoor patio and a great space to bring your dogs! Really good about covid. All waiters wearing mask/neck covers with handkerchiefs and some even wearing loves The food is good, but nothing special or super unique for brunch. We ordered the eggs Benedict and found the Hollandaise slightly on the lemony side. We also got the filet and huevos rancheros. The rice and beans with the in house tostada was delicious but as well cooked as the steak was, was a bit bland for my liking. The highlight of this meal and why they get four stars was their blackened mahi sandwich. Perfectly flavorful with a remoulade that had just the right amount of pickle flavor. The fries were cooked to perfection. Also thoroughly enjoyed the ginger jam margarita. For those of you looking for bottomless brunch, they do offer $15 bottomless mimosas and bloody marys on Saturday and Sunday. I would return for take out of that delicious sandwich and would love to try dinner (the options seem unique and delicious) but brunch was good for a one time affair. read more
