The Fork and Vine restaurant and wine bar is a must stop conveniently located along the Illinois wine trail. A great space for a large gathering with a venue that is apparently for music. This was by far the best meal I've had in southern Illinois. Great food and appetizers and a menu that left me wanting to come back to try more. A nice selection of drinks featuring their own wines and other drink options as well. Located in the country I almost passed right by but this dining spot came highly recommended and I agree that The Fork and Vine is a must stop. The bar is inviting enough that I would consider stopping by for even just a drink without having dinner. The service was solid with a knowledgeable server who was able to answer questions not only about food and drink but also about nearby towns to visit. She did not seem to mind that us tourists were asking for where to go and what to see. I even took notes. I'll be back to take advantage of some of the stops she mentioned, and I'll stop at The Fork and Vine once again. read more

We waited over a half hour for 2 sandwiches. When we finally received them, they were cold (grilled cheese and turkey panini). Lunch cost us $30 and it was not worth it. My suggestion is either improve your kitchen or stay with making wine. read more

What a place to have an excellent Valentine's dinner! Walking into the restaurant is an experience! It is so warm, inviting and like an upscale lodge with a bar. The wood work is beautiful! We got to sit on the second floor with a great view of the outdoors and restaurant below. We made early reservations so it wasn't too crowded. Service was wonderful! Friendly, welcoming greeting by the hostess as we walked in the door. We had a reservation and were quickly seated. The amazing service continued when we were greeted by our server, Joe. He was very thorough detailing the beer, wine and food specials. Joe had great recommendations for wine and was a very attentive, friendly server! We decided on the "Lover's Special", which was delicious ! The medallions were tender, juicy and flavorful...like butter! The salmon was cooked perfectly with a bit of a crisped edge. The twice baked potatoes and kale sides paired well with the salmon and medallions. It was a perfect meal and experience in every way! We are looking forward to coming back in the warmer months to sit outside and sip wine to some music! read more

We were visiting Illinois wineries and we heard about this place . The 4 of us stopped for dinner, first I would like to comment on the grounds surrounding this restaurant, lovely rolling hills, perfect for when the bands are playing. Very nice. The Food, two of us had the bone in pork chops, one word. Amazing! They were Cooked perfectly and the sauce that came with the chops , perfect. My wife had chicken which she commented on as very good, Nice flavor and moist. Loved the Brussel sprouts and I'm not a fan but damn, I'd eat them again at this restaurant. Our experience, when in this area again, this will be a stop for dinner, maybe next time we can catch the band at the same night. He ordered a side of risotto with it, which was a bit undercooked for our taste, but the flavor was good. We did a flight of their red wines and weren't impressed. It may be petty but the Fork & Vine Restaurant & Wine Bar charged 10 dollars for a Caesar salad that would have been considered a 4 dollar side salad anywhere else. Some chopped romaine in a small bowl with store bought dressing. It was especially disappointing considering the rest of the meal was excellent and fairly priced but I can't get over the crappy salad 0:21 ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ ⁩ The 10 dollar Caesar salad was basically a side salad that would have been 4 dollars anyplace else. Small bowl of shredded romaine and some store bought Caesar salad dressing. That said, the brussel sprouts with bacon and goat cheese was fantastic and the same price as the crappy salad. The Fuego burrito was delicious filled with cheesy scrambled eggs, sausage, jalapenos, and salsa for only two dollars more than the puny salad. I would have given the place five stars if I didn't feel ripped off by ordering the side salad masquerading as a Caesar salad. read more

Relaxing vineyard dinner to finish a nice outing with the hubby. We had hiked nearby Shawnee Forest and stopped there on the way home. We were there just as service changed to dinner menu. I had the Illinois wine flight and the best dirty martini I've ever had. My hubs got the fish and chips and I ordered the sausage ziti. Both of us had no complaints with our meal. I love that the restaurant locally sources what they can. I will be back this summer for live music on the patios. read more

This was our first time here and it was amazing! As a vegan from Southern Illinois not often do I leave a restaurant satiated. But tonight I did! Had the chance to stop in Friday last week for a dinner with family. The host the waiter waitress and all staff were very very courteous and professional. We requested to see the chef and talk about our meals and they were more than willing to oblige and brought the chef to our table. She went over each plate that we requested talked about how the preparation was and then even blackened the salmon on one dish upon request. The ribeye steak and salmon was probably one of the better steaks and Definitely the best piece of salmon I've had in southern Illinois today. read more

Let me run you through our evening. We came into the Fork and Vine at the suggestion of Philip after a delightful experience at the Feather Hills Winery Tasting Room. We had a 6 PM reservation on a Thursday night and were seated, after a bit of discussion in the 3 Season room. They graciously turned on the electric fireplace and the room was nice and cozy. After a bit of a wait our server came out and she showed a lot of very welcome enthusiasm, so the wait was worth it. We ordered a sweet tea and a vodka martini, and though she struggled a bit with the handheld ordering computer she got it entered About ten minutes later she brought out our drinks and took our order. We ordered the deviled eggs; we each got a cup of the mushroom bisque, and I ordered the prime rib special while my husband ordered the rib eye. The first clue that things were not all as expected was the martini was warm, and the three olives hollowed out with no apparent stuffing. Ok, we could deal with this. Then the soup and deviled eggs came out. The soup had a skin on it like it had been sitting for a while and was not very warm. It came with a couple of slices of garlic toast and what appeared to be a thin slice of lion's mane mushroom, deep fried. Combined the flavors were good, separately none would have passed muster. The deviled eggs were supposed to have bacon, smoked paprika (my weakness, I could roll in smoked paprika and die happy) and dill. Although each egg had a piece of bacon stuck in the yoke the absence of dill and smoked paprika was just plain sad. And then dinner arrived, and it was not right. Instead of a ribeye my husband received a prime rib. Our server apologized but even though we were told a new meal would be forthcoming my food sat in front of me making me uncomfortable while we waited for his food. We asked if my meal could be kept warm so we could eat together, and it seemed no one knew, and it was a bit of chaos to find out what they could do. Ultimately, they took my plate and came back with both of our plates and had remade my meal as well. By this point we had been offered a 25% discount on our tab. Sadly that really didn't make up for a vacation dinner that we had hoped would be special. And then because I had ordered the prime rib and was asked specifically if I wanted horseradish, I got through the entire meal without it. When the server came by and I mentioned this omission, she ran off to get it and when she came back she was in tears. We told her that we were not trying to be assholes but were just a bit frustrated with the entire experience. She offered to get Philip the general manager and we accepted and of course Philip had just left. So we took the 25% off the tab, gave our server a very generous cash tip and will never come back again. Which is just plain sad as we really, really wanted to have a good evening and it really sucked. read more

My husband surprised me with a weekend away. He asked a friend where to go to eat. Without hesitation it was "The Fork and Vine". My husband emailed them ahead of time telling them he wanted a nice dinner to say thank you for all I do for him. Not only was the food absolutely amazing, but our waitress saw his email and had roses for me! We were greeted warmly and had the best waitress. Thank you Cassie for making it so memorable! The ceviche was perfect and so fresh. The brussel sprouts with balsamic reduction was so good I wanted seconds. And the mushroom risotto was heavenly. Beautiful view from the patio. We were warned the kitchen was slow (which was fine for us) but it took forever to get waited on, just to get a glass of wine. No one would even make eye contact! Finally a really nice waitress asked if we'd been helped and then took our order. The food and wine were both good and the experience improved immensely once someone waited on us. I would suggest to train the wait staff to make sure people have wine or drinks quickly. Making customers feel welcome, even if the service is slow goes a long way! We'll be back! read more

My wife and I attended a wedding yesterday in Anna, and afterwards we attended The Fork and Vine for the Wedding Dinner. The server staff was phenomenally helpful and took great care of all of the wedding guests. They were attentive and served everyone with urgency and care. The food that Chef prepare for the dinner was THE BEST food I've ever had at a wedding. The pork chops were cooked perfectly and even had diamond grill marks on each loin. The salmon was seasoned and cook to perfection. The carrots were Al dente and still had the earthy flavor of carrots, but didn't taste like dirt. These minor details added to the entire ambience of the experience. The dueling pianos were the icing on the cake. Dedicated to music, Steve and Eric played their hearts out. I even put on my dancing shoes a few times. This was a great restaurant and one I would like to frequent when I'm back in southern Illinois. read more
