This is the first review I've ever done because I felt so strongly about this experience I ordered Mothers Day flowers on 5/4 for delivery either Sat., 5/10 or Sun., 5/11. Rec'd email notification Sat. night from FTD that they were delivered at 7:10 pm. I called FTD to tell them the flowers hadn't arrived and was offered a re-delivery on Tues., but that's another story. A woman from The Flower Place called at 8pm Sat. night, said they were on the truck out for delivery and that she was going to contact the driver then call me back, she didn't. She also said that they have to send that delivery email out once they're on the truck, but not necessarily delivered! I called her this morning and said they hadn't arrived. She said the driver stopped at my complex office Sat. night for help in finding our apartment (our office closes at 5:00 so that didn't happen). She then told me that the driver said it was dark and raining and she thinks she may have delivered to unit 49 instead of mine, When I explained to the woman at The Flower Place that they still weren't here, she said "I don't know what else to tell you" and hung up! Reading the previous reviews, I see that others have been hung up on, too. What a way to run a business! read more

I was desperate to find a place that could deliver a bouquet to a sick family member that was admitted to Sarasota memorial Hospital . The hospital gift shop was closed which I find crazy since the hospital is a 24 hour business. The other places were telling me they quit delivering at noon on a Saturday again ridiculous! Thankfully I reached The Flower Place ! Within 10 minutes the order was placed and within an hour it was delivered! Kudos to the owner she knows what it's all about to serve the community! Big. As I live across the country from my mother, I wanted to do something nice for her, so I ordered a bouquet for Mother's Day. I placed my order online on Tuesday (for Sunday delivery). I paid $60 for the upgraded Sunlit Blooms, which the website lists as consisting of yellow roses, light pink Peruvian lilies, white mini carnations, and white daisies. Then, I paid an additional $15 service fee for the delivery. Well... the flowers arrived at 7:30pm on Sunday, and the blooms did not contain any lilies and pink carnations instead of white ones. The bouquet was also the small and likely not the upgraded size I ordered. I called the shop owner and said "I think I received the wrong bouquet". To which she replied "Well, that is entirely possible.... if you placed your order yesterday." I told her that I placed my order on Tuesday and the bouquet did not contain any lilies and the wrong color carnations. The flowers arrived extremely late." She then replied "well, we ran out of lilies"..... So why didn't you call me?! I asked. Her reply" I had over a hundred orders,. I can't call everyone!... You are making a big deal out of nothing" ... AND THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Additionally, my mother told me that the water in the vase was warm, likely because the florist had been driving around all day attempting to make deliveries. The woman also told my mother that she attempted delivery twice that day, buy did not have her telephone number... It was clearly on the order, in my delivery instructions, and on the card that came with the flowers! I am going to work with my credit card company to get a refund. read more

We had flowers delivered from here and the vase had fallen and spilt all over the card and teddy bear. She was wringing out the water from the bear and expected us to accept it, which we refused. When the purchaser called to get this settled, they were rude and hung up on him, so we had to go to the shop ourselves to get it fixed. When we got to the store we received more rude service but ended up with a dry bear at least. We asked for the delivery charge to be refunded because we had to come to the store to collect our items, but even that was refused. So if you want rude and incompetent service ... this is your spot! read more

I'm sad about having to write a poor review because there is often more to the story- and maybe it is just one bad day. But I'm really disappointed in not only what was delivered but the customer service. If you look in the picture below as to what was ordered vs what is "Lavender Elegance" (http://www.sarasotaflowerplace.com/lavender-elegance-by-real-simple-/176966l/) you can see that, although nice, it does not fit the description. Lavender and cream is what dominates in both the description and the website picture- and that is why it was chosen. But in reality no lavender or cream. And it was delivered a day late- missing the day of the event. I emailed twice and didn't get a response. I then called and it was obvious that the call was a bother. No empathy or concern in tone for the flowers not matching the description. And as far as being a day late, instead of being empathetic was notified that it's Spring Break now and deliveries are tough. I asked that due to the difference in what was received and it being late that I would like a partial refund of the cost of flowers and service charge (total was $124). My floral order was placed online but it was a pick-up order not delivery. I was at the shop on time, called in (Covid) and was rudely asked to wait. When the order was ready, I was asked to come to the door to pick it up.  The flowers looked nothing like what was ordered. There were approximately 6 or so full size white roses and some smaller spray roses, with greens very loosely in the vase.  When I said to the owner (Mona) this looked nothing like what I ordered she left me at the front door and walked to the back of the shop to the computer, saying nothing. I waited a minute and then walked to the back counter, she was looking up the picture of the arrangement online (shouldn't she have known what it was supposed to look like already?), then asked me very rudely if she should fix it. I was dumbfounded at her behavior. She asked if she should add some carnations, with that I just asked for a refund. She said no, the work had already been done. I said I would just challenge it with my credit card company and her response to that was "F**k you". I left. I failed to take a picture of the flowers or get her name (have procured her name since then) because I don't normally complain about such things and have never been treated so rudely in a customer service situation. These were flowers I was going to deliver to a friend in sympathy for the death of her father. I was empty handed. read more

I'm giving one star because it was simply a terrible experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I ordered Mother's Day flowers. My total was like $80 with delivery. And yes I'm writing this a little late, I completely forgot to come review this place. I usually order from BENEVA FLOWERS but I waited too long and they were full on delivery. So I chose this website bc I was stupid and didnt look at their reviews first. I placed my order to have it delivered Sunday. It never arrived. I called the business millions of times, she NEVER picked up. I panicked because I really hated the thought of someone just stealing $80. I'm a student and I don't make much, I also really wanted my mom to feel special since I wasn't physically there. Since this lady didn't pick up the phone, I called my moms friend to go to the actual place and say something to her. She stated that they tried to deliver twice. I ordered an extra, extra large Marvelous bouquet for my mother's 91st birthday. They arrived late (after 5:30). The arrangement is such a disappointment. It is not the size that was described for an extra, extra large $175 bouquet. I emailed the florist as their confirmation email to me indicated and heard nothing. Just spoke with them and was told that it is exactly as ordered except for substitutions for the Calla Lilies. View the photos to see for yourself. I noted that another florist's extra, extra large were twice the size of the one they did,. She rudely stated that I use them instead. Their website offers a guarantee stating that they will replace any arrangement if the customer is not happy. They are clearly not standing by their guarantee. I wish I had checked reviews prior to ordering from this florist. I will never give them another dime. The total price for this bouquet was $200 including a delivery and service fee. Sad to say my order was filled incorrectly and when given the chance to redeliver the next day, couldn't do that by 3 pm either.

Placed an order on line. Photo on line was modern and current unlike the item that was prepared. If you love baby's breath then you would have been very happy, because this arrangement had an overload of it. When questioned the owner pulled the item up on her website and said oh, well what I made is better than that. But what she made wasn't what we ordered. I had a great experience, I walked in talked to the florist about what I was looking to have put together. I told her my budget and when I needed it, and she gave me an idea as to what she could do in that price range. From there I left and headed to work. I tried calling and getting my money back for 6 days straight and the owner never returned my call and didn't pay me back which is basically stealing. It was a terrible experience. I ordered an arrangement I found on their website called Sweetest Medley and it was the cost of $44.00 plus $10 delivery and almost $4 for taxes... so close to $60. When I went to my neice's work to see the flowers that were sent by The FLower Place, I could not believe that it was not EVEN the same arrangement at all that I had ordered. When I called to mention this to the florist, I WISH I HAD HER NAME, she said that yes it was, that she did it herself. I said to her that I HAVE A PHOTO of the flowers sent AND they did NOT have any daisies in the arrangement at all and the carnations were not pink. THE only thing that was similar were the red roses. It looked like it was just all thrown together. I was surely NOT what I ordered. I plan on writing to the company by snail mail because not only did this woman argue with me but stated the COST of the flowers as if I should have been happy with what I got because of the price!! I would not order from them again. They are slow, not at all friendly on the phone and just give lack luster service. I ordered on a Thursday for a Friday delivery. Called at 4:00 pm and they said they would be delivered within an hour. At the end of the business day when the note clearly shows that it's from a work group. Not acceptable. In fact, when I called today about a credit to my credit card, I was told that they were too busy to address my issue. I meant to leave this review several months ago after my overwhelmingly negative experience. I was recently reminded of it when picking out a present for my mother, for whom I had ordered birthday flowers back in September. What was meant to be a nice gesture turned into an unpleasant debacle thanks to this vendor. I ordered a $65 bouquet, upgraded to the large, fuller option, and described as: "Roses, hydrangea and alstroemeria collaborate perfectly to create the beautiful look, accented by a charming green swirl vase." It looked lovely and full in the picture, and I was particularly pleased with the color scheme and green vase, as it's my mother's favorite color. What she received was a sparse-looking bouquet someone could have picked up at the grocery store for $20 with other flowers/colors jammed in and a plain ol' clear vase. I called the store soon after to express my concerns. Let me say that I am not one to complain aggressively and having spent many years in customer service, I am ALWAYS willing to work with if not outright forgive a vendor if they show some willingness to hear me out or make amends. In other words, I'm more interested in sincere service than a freebie and I will always choose one over the other. The woman who answered was far from sincere. Or pleasant. Or cooperative. It was immediately apparent that she could not care less. Indeed, she was irritated from the get go. When I quite politely explained why I was calling, there was a prolonged, uncomfortable silence in response. I said, "Hello?" and she snapped back "I"m GOING to the COMPUTER." Not an "I'm sorry to hear that. Just a moment while I pull your order up..." or anything of the sort. It was a troubled note to start on and I should have known it would get worse from there. To make a long story short, she instructed me to text her a picture of the bouquet. Okay, that's weird... but I did it. What was her response? A text telling me that I was "taking photo from back instead of front." ...What? That was a new one to me. Aside from the fact that the bouquet was equally sparse from every direction, I had never heard of circular, vase-arranged bouquets that had a "front" or "back" side to them. I told her I would appreciate a phone call to discuss. She didn't call. So I called her later. Again, to make a long story shorter, it was an absurd phone call full of her making excuses, accusations, screaming about her being a "small business" and otherwise being remarkably unprofessional. I mean, I really cannot express how awful it was. I've never had such a ridiculous experience before with any vendor. I told her that being a small business owner did not preclude her from acting like a civil human being. After a little more shrillness on her part, she told me she was too busy to talk. I asked her to call me back at her convenience. She never called back. At the end of the day, I wish I had checked these reviews. It was money down the toilet and a frustrating experience to boot. Bad experience. My husband ordered flowers for me. They emailed him and indicated it was delivered, but they weren't. He called and said they tried to deliver but we weren't there. We were. We called back and they changed their story to they couldn't deliver because of the rain and would deliver the next day. Told them to deliver before 11 am the next day because we were leaving then. DEAD AND DYING FLOWERS, NASTY PEOPLE I received birthday flowers late evening Saturday from this florist (in the adjacent city to mine)---sent by a far away relative through an online flower service. Roses and lilies in a vase. As soon as they were inside the house, the petals started falling off the roses- of at least one rose (which is now reduced to a bud). My floor was strewn with red rose petals. Every time I moved the vase, more petals fell off. It was late evening and I was tired and didn't examine the flowers. I thought it was odd that the petals were falling off. The next day-Sunday was busy all day and did not examine the flowers till Monday morning, when I noticed that the other roses in the vase were wilting, curled under and I saw the remains of the rose whose petals had fallen on the table and the floor. I realized this was a bad batch of roses decided to let the florist know about it-I felt bad that my relative had spent a great deal of money no doubt in the hopes that I would receive beautiful fresh flowers. I called the florist in a calm frame of mind later in the day, fully expecting an apology-or at the very least a sympathetic ear. Instead, the woman I spoke to was rude and nasty, interrupted me harshly from the getgo and she admitted that she believed I had to be lying-"we don't deliver dead flowers", she said angrily over and over. And then she hung up on me!! Lovely! Over the years I've received beautiful bouquets sent via online services. and have never received flowers that were dying or past their peak. This woman was unbelievably rude, classless, and downright nasty. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS FLORIST. Not a very "happy birthday" experience. All I can do is write reviews and contact the online company that is using this store in the hopes that they will cease to do so in the future. My best friend sent me a bouquet with specific instruction to include a Waterford Vase, which was specified on the website with a photo and waterford trademark. Not only were only the flowers only half in bloom, the vase they sent was an inexpensive Vera Wang...a far cry from WATERFORD which my friend paid $185.00 for. They were delivered later than requested and promised. When the florist was contacted they said when a WATERFORD vase came in they would deliver it, then they HUNG UP ON MY FRIEND, saying they were too busy to discuss this. Great thing about social media....the word gets out......Very disappointing experience...UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. These people are scam artist. My fiancee placed an order for me and they called stating they didnt have what he ordered that they could do another arrangment for an up charge of $10 more dollars when he refused and wanted to cancel his order they charged his account anyway. When he contacted them about the charge they said they would cancel it but their would be a $10 cancellation fee which turned out to be $14.95 and his account was not refunded the $45 he originally paid. Made multiple attempts to contact them and no one would answer the phone. Even drove to the shop and the doors were locked during business hours. This place shouldnt even be in business and i hope karma comes full force to these horrible people. What should have been a nice, sweet gesture from my fiancee has turned into nothing but a hassle!!! Stay clear from this company. Judging by the reviews prior to my own this isnt the first time and im sure it wont be the last. *After speaking with our bank our next step will be filing a claim against them for fraud. What a nightmare! Ordered a potted plant to be delivered to my mother on 3/30/15. Was charged $59.62...aked if they could email me a receipt, since the web page indicated the plant was $39 and delivery was free. Never received an invoice or delivery confirmation. The plant was delivered at 7:45 that evening. It was a 5 inch tall plant in a plastic container that had a price sticker (like from the dollar store) of $3.99. I called and said I was terribly unhappy, she assured me that this was an error and a new plant would be sent out to my mothers. Today is 4/2/15, will not return my phone calls, so I went to their store. Told her I wanted my money back...she said she was taking a new potted plant to my mother today...I said just cancel it and refund my money...she said I can't, I have already paid for this new plant, so you have to pay for it!! WHAT??? It's a potted plant, sell it to someone else! She refuses to give me a refund! So my suggestion is to stay far away from this florist!! They failed on every count! read more

Mona (the owner) was downright rude, told me she didn't have to listen to this insult and hung up on me. The $80 arrangement was a small handful of hastily put together cheap flowers and was delivered at 7:30 at night. It was from my husband on my 65th birthday and he was terribly embarrassed! I wonder if Mona has ever sent an $80 meal that was served cold and tasteless back to the kitchen? Did the restaurant manager feel insulted or apologetic for the poor service? I, too, ordered flowers for Mother's Day on their website that were never delivered!!!! I received a confirmation of the order but found out from my Mother that she never received them days later!!! I requested a Friday delivery so it wasn't like they didn't have ample opportunity to make the delivery. They could have, at least, delivered them Saturday or on Mother's Day. Nothing, Nada, no flowers for my Mother. But not only did they not delivery any flowers, they charged me for my order AND they also ran a separate fraudulent charge for almost $90. When I learned that my Mother never received the flowers I ordered, I tried calling the company only to encounter a VM box that was full. I then sent a complain/inquiry via their website with no response. I ended up having to contact my MC to dispute both charges. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My reveiw isn't about the quality but the unresponsive service. I called during business hours (10:30) and got a recorded message stating that the hours were 10 - 7(!) and to either order online or leave a phone number to call back. I left my number and more than three hours later, with no answer, I called another florist. At the 4 hour mark I got a returned call(remember, this is during the listed business hours) but informed the woman I had placed my order with another florist. Her somewhat curt answer was "Well, we were doing a wedding!" What? -so few people that EVERYONE was occupied? I said I couldn't wait and, again, a snippy "That's why our message tells people to order online"(!!!) When I said I had specifics that necessitated me ordering with a live person, her response was a snide "Well, I'm sorry you couldn't wait!" !!!! How about - Sorry you couldn't be a little quicker with a response and/or a little more apologetic!?!? read more
