Beware! This Company tried to scam me. I don't know why Yelp is saying I'm from San Francisco, but I'm actually in Sandy UT. My experience was a near-disaster. I had learned I carried mold in my body, and in an effort to determine the source of the mold (home, work, travel), asked The Flood Company to send a Certified Mold Inspector to my house. Upon a visual inspection only (no scientific testing), the representative told me emphatically that I had mold in three parts of the house. Verbally, the inspector told me it would be about $2k to do the demolition and remediation, NO rebuilding, and that he would have a quote to me that Tuesday. The following Friday (3 days late), I received a quote of $5,500, not $2k. Included in the cost of the remediation was air quality testing: At the end of the remediation process, and only then, they would do an air quality test to make sure there was no remaining mold. Not having mold coverage through my homeowners' insurance, I thought it best to get a 2nd quote on remediation costs and reached out to a friend's recommendation. That company's representative told me he didn't believe in doing exploratory demolition to find out whether or not there was mold in a home and recommended I pay for a simple air quality test FIRST (not last). I paid $350 and 2 days later was told scientifically that there is no mold in my home! Boy, did I dodge a $30k bullet for unnecessary demolition and remodeling. Run, run, run away from these scammers! read more
