Had a pipe burst inside my wall in my office. Initially they were good, they removed the portion of the wall that was necessary for the plumber to fix the piping. After that point is when they began getting sloppy, and consistently blaming it "on COVID" which initially I took their word for it. Braxten, project manager, told me that it would take 4-5 days. I was starting a new work from home job, and as it is a call center job I needed the project completed as soon as possible so I didn't keep my employer waiting, construction noises can't be going on during the call job. Braxten said he completely understood and his team would get the job done! Well, after they removed the carpet, they completely ghosted me for 2 months. When I contacted Braxten about it he would always give me a very wordy text about "how he's juggling tasks" but "my house was priority!" Eventually he sends a guy who trashes my AC unit outside my house with his truck (Braxten reimbursed me $100 for that) and then starts the restoration of my office. Meanwhile I keep getting bothered by my employer asking if I still want to do the job, and I'm having to keep telling my future employer yes and then updating my future employer with the info Braxten was telling me. Well the employee would stop by random times without notification prior or no scheduling a day to come by, just whenever he felt like stopping by my house. I don't blame the employee, I blame the management for being poor leaders, their employees only have a couple months of experience, due to paying their employees soo poorly which is the real reason they are having labor shortage issues ($11 a hour, way below industry market wage, nothing to do with COVID). Anyways I had a New York trip coming up now after 3 months of Disaster Doctors half assing a 4 day, one man job, an employer thats about to give up on me (not to mention all the pay I missed out by not working), and Braxten just telling good sales pitch lies to get me to not just switch over to another firm to do the job (I was going to switch to Five Star Bath Solutions because my friend said they were very professional with his home and wouldn't do anything like the half ass shit Braxten does). I go on my New York trip, come back and wait even more, about 3 weeks, before they send someone randomly without notice to start working on my home again. About month 5 comes around and Braxten is all excited about "wrapping up this project!" I told him I had to start the job or not have a job, and if he could send someone on the weekend when I'm not working. He says yes and that he'll have someone over Saturday afternoon! Well I text him Saturday afternoon, no one showed up. Braxten gets back to me Monday to tell me that the employee had a family issue (why this is my problem and why Disater Doctors didn't send someone else or at least let me know that no one was available to come on the weekend out of courtesy I'm not sure). I decided I wanted to just finish the office by myself at this point, its been 5 months and I was told 4-5 days. Well Braxten of course just randomly wants to "wrap up the project again!" So this time I told him don't bother. Well he gets super excited wanting me to pay the full price for the half assed job, so we negotiated over the time span of 2 weeks (not because of me, because he kept losing track of his emails). At one point I told him I wanted to talk through mail, he said he couldn't do that because his business doesn't own a printer. I mentioned seeking law advice, which I did, and basically it would not be worth my hassle to pursue it, even though I missed a lot of pay not working while Braxten was not caring about doing basic management tasks. Finally today he sends me a invoice with no details to work, and wants me to sign a document saying I am satisfied with the work Disater Doctors has performed! TLDR: Poor company, poor management, poor timing, they don't care about their customer outside of just a quick cash grab via Venmo. I'm posting pictures of how they left the job and my home for months on end and damage to my AC Unit, messages between me and Braxten. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this company like a plague. read more

Hired disaster doctors to mitigate a leaking upstairs shower. They hired an inexperienced subcontractor who I ended up having to manage myself. The job was done so poorly they had to do it twice, then the shower failed in less than a year with water leaking through the floor to the bathroom ceiling downstairs. Then they tried to provide the same lousy subcontractor to fix it and refused to repair the damage to ceiling in the downstairs bathroom. read more

After our sewage backed up in our basement, Disaster Dr was recommended. Their workers were really great but their accounting and follow up was terrible. I agreed to do the painting, replace baseboards and replace all the furniture. They never paid me for the work and they kept the money paid for the work I did. They also pulled up carpet and pad that was not supposed to be removed from a back bedroom. They agreed to pay for it. They sent us less than was promised and less than the cost to replace. They owed us around $800 and refused to pay me for the work I did and the total price to replace the carpet they accidentally removed. I would never use them, but if you do, get everything in writing and call your insurance company first!! They told us not to call our insurance company until they started the work and tore everything out of our basement, big mistake. read more

Disaster Doctors did a good job with initial clean up and tear out. Unfortunately, it all went dow the drain after that. They sub out all the renovation and it shows. The drywall was done well but they did no cleanup. We had to clean prior to painting. They invoiced us for a number of items that weren't done nor were they items that were part of the disaster. They did agree to remove these items from the bill but it took several attempts. My suggestion is to use this company for initial clean up but the hire your own contractor for the rebuild read more

Our basement was flooded while we were on vacation. When we came home, there was two inches of water through almost the entire basement. All the carpets were ruined, the baseboards had swollen with water, and it was a devastating nightmare. I have never had any sort of "disaster" to deal with, so had no idea what to do. I went on google to find someone to help us with this mess. I researched the top damage specialists that came up, and saw that Disaster Doctor's had rave reviews from previous clients, so I called them. I am SO GRATEFUL I did. They were absolutely incredible to work with from start to finish. They took this nightmare out of my hands and completely fixed it all. It was a Sunday night when we got home to the damage, and they sent someone out immediately. He assessed the situation, put our minds at ease, and the very next day had a team setting up dehumidifiers, fans, and removing the destroyed carpet and baseboards. After it was completely dried out, they sent in the repair team-- all new carpets and baseboards-- it looked even better than before the flood. The entire team, from start to finish, were professionals. They were personable, knowledgable, skilled, and efficient. The damage was so extensive that it took a few days to repair, and they showed up on time each day and went right to work-- I didn't even know they were there. I can not rave enough about my experience with Disaster Doctor's and would absolutely 100% recommend them to everyone who has suffered a disaster. Disaster Doctors assessed my water damage and leaking roof 4/18/2109 after a storm. State Farm Insurance gave me DD number and said they know the insurance standards and work with them. Disaster Doctors came shared booklets saying they care but I do not feel this ; only the pressure to sign their contracts; it seems their priority is to make claims. Derek came and said the roof looks like wind damage (roof nails pulled up from shingles)and the water damage in kitchen and bedroom definitely need mitigation with fans/drying He said I should make an insurance claim despite my high deductible I wrote a check for my deductible $2215 and Derek required a $500 deposit on the drying machines which later State Farm said is unusual but nonetheless I wrote the check. Once the checks were taken the communication with mitigation team stopped. They seemed busy on other jobs I called Derek for updates and waited for roof estimate but for the most part the machines just ran and ran and ran. Another storm came in and because no protection was placed under the ceiilng cut out additional water and dirt came into my two room...needing those machines to run and run more...frustrating!!! In addition they found mold in my kitchen (same area they cut out) but took up front payment for the mold, set up the machine and once again disappeared. Never heard an estimate or hear anything on roofing replacement and found this on my own. Cameron reached out and came to my home and helped me clean the dirt and roof junk that came through the ceiling onto my wood floors which was nice but...; later he sent Cody to fully cleaned my rooms and put up sheeting ... finally!! Due to the lack of communication with me and apparently amongst the different departments in Disaster Doctors I chose another company to rebuild and have been very pleased. Disaster Doctors need to talk to each other, serve each client with the same priority regardless of size and make service the priority and not just signing the contract. Buyer Beware!! read more

I called Disaster Dr to get a black mold test in my rental for my bathroom that has visible mold. Once transferred I asked how much for a mold test. My property manager said my landlord will not clean it up until I get a positive mold test. They refused to service me unless I agreed to at least 2 of the 3 suggested tests. One in the contaminated area, one outside the contaminated area inside and one outside. At $75 each. When I asked of they could just test the one room that clearly had mold he suggested I call another company. I told him it was in the bathroom and I could see the mold so only one was necessary. He then began explaining to me how mold forms. I am not an idiot, my landlord is. I hung up. They seem more interested in up selling services you do not need than providing their services. It's never a good day when you wake up to discover your basement has flooded. Being new to the area I wasn't sure who to contact. I came across Disaster Doctors and decided to take a chance. Thankfully, they were very quick to respond and prompt to arrive to assess the situation and see what needed to be done. I only waited approx. 20-30 minutes from the time I called to the time they arrived. They did a thorough assessment of the damage and also were very upfront in discussing whether to file as an insurance claim or not. Overall, it took them approx. 4-5 days to dry everything because they had to check for asbestos since it's an older home. They were easy to work with and responsive to calls. read more

My water heater had flooded and caused a decent amount of water damage to the vinyl flooring in my laundry room, the wall between that and my bathroom, as well as the vanity in the bathroom. I called Cameron at Disaster Doctors and he was very quick to respond. He was out to my house within 45 minutes to assess the situation. He was very polite, respectful, and informative. He worked quickly once he started the job that same day. He cleaned up the mess very well and I literally had to worry about nothing because he laid everything out up front and stayed in contact with me from beginning to finish addressing any concerns and even offering helpful tips on the side. Basement flooded the week before Christmas, due to sewer drain backup and pretty thoroughly soaked the carpet and walls before we discovered it. A mitigation team of three arrived within a couple hours of our phone call, cleared out all affected carpets and sheetrock, set up containment and 6 or 8 dehumidifier and air filter machines. Once mitigation was complete, we used their renovation services to get everything back to it's original condition (with new carpet throughout). Derek was our main contact on the mitigation and was responsive, attentive and thorough. He was extremely helpful with our insurance claim. Haley coordinated all the restoration work and was fantastic! Great communication and attention to detail. Practically all the people that she had doing the work were first rate in terms of punctuality and quality of work. Had a very positive experience with Disaster Doctors. I emailed them at 11:00 pm asking for someone to come out and inspect my home for mold. The next morning, they texted me (as per my request) and was out here that same afternoon. Cameron even knew a little sign language and it was easy to read his lips, which was a huge bonus for me! He was able to locate the issue (which wasn't as bad as I feared) and explained everything to me in detail. I strongly recommend against using Disaster Doctors for any home disaster repair. I had a small basement flood in August and contracted with Disaster Doctors for the remediation. They failed to show up for multiple appointments, even when I explained that I had taken time off of work to meet them. They created a lot of additional, unnecessary damage during their "cleanup." When it came time to make the repairs, different workers also failed to show up for multiple appointments and then stopped returning my calls at all. After several weeks, I contacted another company that did the work. Disaster Doctors then tried to invoice my insurance company for more than double the estimate they gave me for the remediation--much of which was for work they did not do and was not needed. It took three months and dozens of communications with them in order to finally get an accurate invoice. They turned a small flood into a months-long nightmare. read more

As it turned out, the previous company I paid to dry my wood did an inadequate job and Christian showed me the proof. Disaster Doctors arrived at my house after a dishwasher line broke and partially flooded the kitchen. They arrived with a crew, truck and trailer for the removal of the wet material. Another truck with dryers and dehumidifiers arrived later.. The kitchen flooring was pulled along with the kitchen cabinets that were resting on particle board. I had a spigot turn into a gushing indoor/in-wall waterfall! Imagine the water-flow with the spigot in-use for over an hour as Niagara falls flows down the inside wall! The drain nearby probably caught most of it. The water only puddled to about 1/2 inches, but it covered 3 decent-sized areas of my 900 sq/ft. basement. Luckily it is 90% unfinished concrete! Although my knee-jerk reaction to have Disaster Doctors extract the water was probably a good case of overkill, there's no better justification for an expense than peace of mind, especially when I'm headed to a week-long cruise in a week! I'm also a big believer of "Everyone needs a job & needs to work!". I like to support my community! Cameron dispatched Christian and Carlos within an hour of my call! The initial phone estimate was $300-400! When Christian sized up the project however, he dropped the price to $200. I appreciate a company that operates fairly and doesn't take advantage of someone's misfortune to gouge them! This goes double with the fact I've been recently unemployed for 5+ months and my finances are fragile! They were very professional, courteous and sociable. They hauled out a hard-core professional grade wet-vac that made for a quick-kill job. Before packing up, Christian asked me to inspect to make sure I was satisfied with their work. How often do you see that these days?!? The Disaster Doctor invoice is now in my 'go to guys' binder for future reference.
