Brea Fit Body Boot Camp is the place for you!!! Whether you are just starting out on your road to exercise, or if you are a seasoned veteran....Brea FBBC is a great fit!! All the trainers are quite knowledgeable and extremely helpful!! It is a fun, lighthearted atmosphere....but you will leave in a healthy sweat after each visit.

I signed up for their 14-day boot camp, which basically means you have a membership for 14 days and you can go to their classes as many times as you want during that time period. They have multiple morning and evening classes M-F, one morning class on Saturdays, and none on Sunday. Each class is 30-40 min long, depending on if you stay afterwards for stretching and chatting. I am a pretty fit person already, not overweight, etc. I hadn't worked out in a long time before this so I was mostly using the boot camp to get back into shape really quickly so I could start my normal workouts again. OH MAN...these boot camps are intense! I don't think I've ever worked out so hard in a 30 minute time span in my life. I was sore nearly every day during that two weeks, but it definitely got better as time went on. The trainers are super nice and super motivating. You basically do a different circuit training workout each time. Over my two weeks, I never got bored or felt like the workouts were repetitive. There was something new each time, and we focused on a different area each time. The classes were almost entirely women, but some men made their appearances every now and again. They seem a little disorganized and their website isn't the best, but it's totally worth it! The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and I saw results very quickly!

The best 30 minutes of my day! Thirty minutes without having to think about what to do next....their trainers are amazing. Every day is totally different and challenging, you will never be bored! Owners Cara and John make you feel like family from the start and the members are just as welcoming. I fully credit Fit Body Boot Camp with helping me lose 70 lbs!

I decided to check out Brea Fit Body Boot Camp because Groupon was offering a great deal for a 21-day trial. This place has been great so far. The facility is clean and the trainers are positive, motivating, and know what they're doing. I love that there are plenty of sessions throughout the day, which makes it easy to incorporate workouts into a hectic schedule. The best part? The workouts are fun and effective. I actually look forward to them, even at 5 o'clock in the morning!

Having now experienced FIT Brea, I'm definitely kicking myself for not trying this gym out sooner. I've only done their group fitness classes so far, which range from 8-12ish people in size, and I'm looking forward to trying out the personal training sessions when my schedule opens up! Here are a few ways that make FIT Brea a standout: COACHING: The coaches here are the whole package! 1. They all have stellar credentials, with many of them holding advance degrees and multiple certifications. In short, they know their stuff. 2. At the risk of sounding facetious, I just want to make the point that the FIT Brea coaches actually coach. It might sound like a no-brainer, but it hasn't always been my experience that coaches do much more beyond demo-ing the moves and saying "good job" or "keep going" every few minutes, especially in a group class setting. Here, the coaches constantly move throughout the room to offer individualized pointers on form, differentiated movements depending on individual strength and mobility, alternative movements for injuries, and encouragement and motivation to keep pushing so I can get better and better. 3. They are all super patient, encouraging, and welcoming! PROGRAMMING: The programming for the group classes are thoughtfully and methodically designed. From what I can tell so far, the workouts are structured in mesocycles with a progressive overload pattern. This is important because if we do the same thing over and over, our bodies will adapt and we will not make appreciable gains over time. With progressive overload, our bodies are constantly challenged so that we can keep increasing strength and improving hypertrophy. COMMUNITY: The FIT Brea community is so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed by the coaches and the other patrons from day one. Several people who recognized that I was new introduced themselves and helped me find and set up various equipment. Others even put my plates and dumbbells back during transitions. Just last week, the whole class broke out into spontaneous applause and cheer when I pushed out that last rep of bench press, haha! The mutually encouraging environment really underpins the whole vibe and experience here. It's a special thing. MANAGEMENT: One of the things that I didn't realize would make a difference in my overall gym experience is having direct access to management/owner. In my past gym experiences, the questions/concerns I had would typically have to go up a chain of command before I got a response. Since FIT Brea is owner-operated, the patrons can directly talk to Andrew, the owner, who is so nice and provides exceptional customer service. SPACE/EQUIPMEMENT: It's spacious, well-maintained, clean, and an overall pleasant environment to train in. CLASS OFFERINGS: I'm a busy mom who works full-time hours plus daily commute. I'm thankful that classes are offered as early as 5am and as late as 6:30pm so that I can get my training time in! If you are looking for a gym where you can optimize and maximize your fitness goals (whatever they are), look no further because FIT Brea is it! I'm a serial Yelp sleuther and almost never write reviews, but my experience thus far has so far exceeded my expectations that I felt compelled to share this gem of a place with others!

I was with United Fitness when the business was in La Habra. I was with them for around 2.5 years…read moresince 2016. So I know what it was like before Covid and after Covid. I'll tell you about both. I want to note that I never did the 6-week weight loss program they offer every month to new clients. I just came to do the group workout classes for $60/month. I thought the group classes were very good. Each exercises were 1 minute each and you rotate to do another different exercises. It varies from day to day. Most days, the days program includes some resistance and some cardio. Some equipment used are dumbbells, stationary bikes, stairs, rowing, sliders, punching bags, resistance push/pull boxes, ab roller, slam balls, bosu balls, battle ropes, TRX ropes and more. Everyday are different exercises, which I like. Each round, you have 4-5 exercise stations and 3 rounds, which makes it 50 minute of intense workout. I always sweat! The workout is pretty intense. Since being a member, I felt like I gained muscle and my weights has increased since I started. My muscles are often sore after exercising. I loved how Coaches really push/encourage me to con't exercising. They provide free heart monitoring. Free of charge if you're a member. It gives how much calories you burned during the class and who is in the red, yellow, green, or blue zone. The place has A/C when it's hot or in the summer time. It's so nice since, I'm dripping in sweat every class. They used to provide towels for us, but now they don't, we need to bring our own towels. I like that when we do floor stuff, they have black cushion pads for my knees to rest on preventing my knees from touching the hard floor. Depending on the coaches, each coach has their own genre of music they like to play. The music is super loud depending on where station in the room. It's really loud when you stand near the very left of the room (near the restroom). It hurts my ears! There is water fountain and restrooms for male and female. However, they do not have showers. Also, there are no paper towels to dry your hands after washing. They have specific times when class starts and stops. I recommend to check their website online to know what times classes start. Multiple times I've driven there and find out that they are closed for that day. They don't have any reference on their website or their Facebook page that specific day being closed. The only thing is that you'll drive there and realize it. The don't notify when they don't have classes. It's a waste of gas, but more importantly the time to drive there. Plus, no one answers the phone. I don't know why they have a phone number if hardly anyone one answers it. If you want to call, your best bet is to call after 3pm, that's when there is 1 person in front of the gym checking people in. During Covid, I came back after months of not coming to United Fitness because of being precautious of covid and wanted to stay at home, it was easy to come back. They did not enforce wearing a masks doing into the gym or during the class. The thing I noticed was that some coaches try to social distance esp with stationary bikes, stairs, and row boat being so close to one another. I like that some coaches did that. But, I think that all coaches should put people every other seat so at least we are distanced with each person. I think they should limit how many people come to class too, so we can do social distancing for the rowers, bikes, and stair climbers. When coaches don't say anything, people will be next to each other without masks. I felt that is so dangerous of NOT ENFORCING Social Distancing ...they should maybe do every other person on the bike, rowers, and stairs. During Covid, they did not enforce how many people are in a class. When it was beginning of Covid, they had sign-up sheets to enforce how many people can come to the class. But they got rid of that and just allowed anyone and however many people to come to class. During Covid, some classes, esp the night ones were packed with people. They don't limit how many people come to class. Therefore, not social distancing on at each station. They do ask everyone to wipe/disinfect using spray bottles and paper towels. The spray bottles were community use. However, restrooms still don't have paper towels for people after washing hands. Like: --class exercises --coaches pushes me to keep going --coaches demonstrating the exercises before us starting --easiness of stopping and starting membership --free to use weighing scale with fat % & muscle % Dislike: --not enforcing social distancing, esp with bikes, rowers, and stairs machines being so close to one another --people not wiping their sweat from their stations....so gross and coaches not enforcing the wipe down between stations --not knowing which days are open and which are closed --no one answering their phone calls --super loudness of their speakers that you can't hear the coach

He is always reading and educating himself and putting that knowledge into our workouts. If you see him between clients, he is either working out, listening to a podcast, learning a new language or absorbing information of some sort. For a decade he comes up with innovative workouts that challenge each participant at their fitness level. I love how he changes up the workouts to keep you guessing. The interaction with other members is always fun. In fact, group members have met up apart form the bootcamp for social events. Curtis knows how to push me when I truly think I cant do one more combat pull-up from a bar or box another round of 100. Even if I stop running in a drill he runs along side me to motivate me. He is an encourager. That doesn't mean easy, but he will always champion you and cheer you on (while you are out of breath and telling you to run another lap... or two). I worked out with him to prepare for a Spartan Race. He had me train in strength training, plyometrics, balance, speed, and endurance. I felt like I had a secret weapon over others in the race. He is extremely knowledgable about nutrition and small changes made a huge difference in my diet and wait loss. Implementing thee changes took the guess work out of eating. I know what it takes to maintain my weight. After 10 years, I have no need to change bootcamps because instead of many years of the same old workout, with Bootcamp FX I have many years of consistently excellent training and a fun group to workout with. I feel strong. I feel confident. I am informed. I can box. I can do extremely difficult pull-ups. Last week I bought a pair of pants and took them back because my waist was smaller than I thought.
