This place is just organised chaos in Chinese seafood restaurant form. When we arrived we spoke to…read morethe hostess informing her that we'd booked a table online. Her response was that they don't bother checking online bookings. So we had to wait for a table to be free. This left us a little lost for words. However we were prioritised. We took our seats and ordered our banquet. It took a while for the food to come out. Not surprised to be honest. The place was jam packed and there must have been at least 30 big tables. We were seated in direct line to the entrance. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but as it was winter every time the door opened we were hit with an ice cold breeze. We kept our jackets on as they could not move us anywhere else. The restaurant space is most peculiar. Long rails run along the ceiling. I could only guess what they were used for. On the main wall was a huge screen that had Chinese tv projected onto it. When it came to someone's birthday celebration a Chinese cartoon about Christmas played with happy birthday being sung over the top on repeat for several minutes. I'm still haunted by this. When the food came it did not stop. It was plate after plate of amazing Chinese seafood. The only way it could have tasted any fresher would be if we caught it from the ocean ourselves. It was a night of madness but we still enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing and the staff were eager to please. It always looks packed so I doubt it'll be closing anytime soon. I would most definitely be coming back again.

Definitely one of my favourite yum cha places to go to. Best seafood here yum…read more Awesome dumplings with fine dough not thick. Love the prawn rice rolls absolutely delicious. Masthai Seafood Restaurant - Crab Hot Pot with vermicelli (obviously)

Been coming here for years. Always full on a Friday or Saturday night with a mainly Cantonese…read morecrowd. Very reassuring. Although, unnecessary given the food speaks for itself. One thing we come back here for is the crab hot pot with vermicelli for dinner or supper! This has got to be the best in Sydney. The customer service here is kind of non existent unless you are able to banter in Cantonese with the waiter. The food is that good that you can probably put that aside and enjoy the crab and some other dishes. Our usual 'go to' dishes: Deep fried white bait and squid. Light batter, crispy, enough salt, chilli and seasoning that you could eat the dish yourself and some! Congee - any kind - nice and fluffy rice, well flavoured with the fried doughnut sticks available too! XO beef fried noodles - tasty - you just gotta try it! Deep fried plain bun- usually get this for supper and get a saucer full of condense milk to dip it in - yep dessert! There is so many other dishes to get here There's also complimentary fruit at the end and Chinese dessert soup that if you're lucky enough (earlier in the night) has a glutinous rice ball in it too! I wrote the above review about 4 months ago and about a week ago we drove by the restaurant and it looks like they've changed hands ... So unfortunately I can't be sure the standard is the same!

Great Seafood restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. Located 200 metres from the Railway…read moreStation, Masthai offers some fantastic Chinese cuisine. The food consistently tastes fresh- always important when eating at a seafood restaurant. The undon is great, as is the congee, spanner crabs, giant oysters, jung kong pork and slow cooked soups. Service is brisk and dismissive. It's a good idea to know what you want, or at least what everything is, because the wait staff we encountered were not the friendliest. But no mind, the food is so damn good it doesn't matter. Making a booking is a smart idea, because this place can be very busy, especially on weekends. I've been turned away, and told to wait outside a couple of times. No booking, no udon. So think ahead and book a table. If you're driving, leave yourself some extra time, because parking is scarce. Try one of the side streets on either side of King George's Rd, there are usually a few lucky spots available.

Beverly Hills Seafood is the best fish 'n' chip shop along King George's Rd in Beverly Hills (in…read morefact, it might even be the only fish 'n' chip shop). The fast friendly service is a welcome change to many sour faced owners you come across. The old man who cooks the food is always lovely, and very fair with prices. I usually go in for lunch on the weekends. They have a great range of specials, and lunch packs, which is what I usually go for. The food is standard, but when you're ordering deep fried food, how mind-blowing can it be? But it is what it is. A fish 'n' chip shop of old, serving up oily marine delights and artery clogging carbohydrates wrapped in paper. Eating here always reminds me of playing pass the parcel as a kid, only with hot chips! Conveniently located 100 metres from Beverly Hills Railway Station, Beverly Hills Seafood offer fast, friendly service and tasty fried meals. Try it out for yourself.

A pretty good little fish and chip shop…read more Great prices are just the start here. They have some great packs for one comprising of fish or a burger or calamari or a steak sandwich etc along with chips and a drink for between $5-$10. This place has been here for over 20 years and whilst I'm sure the ownership has changed in this time the quality of the food hasn't. They have seen off the only other fish shop to open in Beverly Hills in recent years so the are doing something right.
