DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE DAMAGING YOUR ROOF!…read more This whole company are scammers! If they want to argue about it with someone who has been in the roofing and insurance business for over 10 years with my roofing business back home we can take these claims to subrogation and court and have engineers take a look at all these "wind damaged" shingles. Try me. Trust me 40-56 mph winds will not do these types of damages where your shingle is rated for 50-60 mph winds and architectural shingles rated for 75+mph winds Im from Texas and have been in the area visiting and have friends here that have told me to take a look at their roofs after these guys from American Home Tech have inspected their roofs. These guys can't even look at me in the face when I'm talking about it on the roof. One of the guys admitted to me and stated that's why he wants to become an adjuster and do right instead of wrong because of their "standards". These are man made creased back shingles!! If they are committing damages to your roof why would you trust them? These contractors are salesman at the end of the day and if theres no work of course they're going to create damage and say your roof is completely damaged because they know you won't get on the roof! Don't be such a fool! I will be buying more chalk because I didn't expect to see this. I will be posting more photos of fraud damages once I inspect what they are claiming "wind damage" on my other friend's homes. And from what I've seen they are all the same just on different roofs. It's obvious when you have a person know what they are looking at.

In mid-July 2024, we met with Chris Hollon (owner) regarding a deck and patio replacement, two…read moreoutdoor fireplaces, and a roof over part of the deck. He quoted a price lower than competitors and claimed the job could be done by Halloween. I work in construction and know this was unrealistic since we hadn't signed a contract or picked out materials yet. On August 7, we signed the contract and paid a 1/3 deposit, with 4 equal payments to follow. Shortly after, we met on-site again. Chris dismissed the Halloween timeline (his own estimate) but said crews would be available and it could be done by Thanksgiving. By September, we selected stone, composite, and rail types and sent them to Chris. Work didn't begin until early October, after repeated, unanswered calls to Chris and Todd Payne (general manager). The patio was poured around October 21. In November, no work occurred. Chris and Todd blamed a truss plant fire and LVL beam shortages. Todd repeatedly asked me about the composite color--despite it already being sent. Framing started the first week of December. On day one, Todd called to ask if I was home to give the framer engineered drawings--not something I should need to handle. During framing, Chris contacted me more than ever--not about progress, but to upsell a new roof with a "family discount." I declined. Right before the holidays, Chris asked for the second payment early and promised major progress while we were out of town. We declined since less than half the phase was complete. While away, he walked back his claim. When we returned, the only new work was the shingled deck roof. A dump trailer had been left in our driveway the entire time. When I asked for it to be removed, Todd said it had a flat tire and asked me to inflate it, which I did just to get rid of it. January and February saw minimal progress. Fireplaces and rough electrical were completed late January. Weather caused some delays, but 4 months in and we still had no decking or rails. Decking started March 18--3 months after Chris said it would be done. The sub did quality work but showed up late and left early. Work picked up in March and April, and I began making partial payments as progress resumed. My wife started texting Chris frequently to get things moving. Eventually, he snapped, replying to her: "this is harassment" and "I don't need your attitude." He never apologized. Later, when Chris came on-site, I confronted him. He admitted he underbid the project and begged us not to share what we paid. He insisted he never said we could paint the patio ceiling (even though he had) and argued over it until I asked him to stop. I gave him color swatches for trim and ceiling stain--he lost them and asked again. We resent them, and weeks later Todd asked for the colors again. By late April, painting, stonework, gutters, trim, and patio ceiling were complete. Rust stains on the patio--caused by tools left out all winter--were removed. Chris requested another payment; I declined until full completion. The project was finally completed May 8, 2025, and we paid in full on May 9--8 months after work started. I do not recommend this contractor. Unprofessional, rude, and unreliable. Chris behaves more like a buddy than a contractor--talking about microdosing mushrooms and politics instead of job progress. After hiring him, I read online reviews. I was surprised by the positives but also shocked by how negatively the company responded to criticism--calling one customer "delusional" and dismissing others with "you can't make everyone happy." Everything here is factual and can be supported with the contract, photos, and saved texts

In February 2024, We paid Chris Hollan Construction $61,250 (was suppose to be $58,000) for 2…read morecovered porches and a concrete pad for us to build a shed on. As of today we are owed a refund of $3,250 (which has been promised to be delivered 3 different times now with no shows). We tried to close the permit to find that the front porch needed to be approved thru Zoning and was not. It failed inspection due to no gutter on addition, oversized from original plans, stairs are not even, which has resulted in my husband falling down them. The original gutter on my home was cut and seemed so any future damage from this will not be covered by insurance or warranty. The roof was to be rubber due to the pitch but it's shingled (and doesn't match the original roofs shingle) and there is nothing between the shingles and the plywood which voids any warranty there also. They created a trip hazard going up to the porch with the concrete pad they placed for new porch. And the front porch roof is crooked! They severed my electrical wire that ran out to a post in my front yard, in which they taped it back together and then concreted over it and told us the light doesn't work for reasons not controlled by them. The back porch was enlarged after plans where drawn up. The new design doesn't have plans approved by an Engineer. No electrical permits were pulled. The stairs are again uneven. There are concerns how the roof is attached to my home. The back patio roof should have a rubber roof also but it's shingled with no barrier between shingles and plywood like the front porch. They applied a thin piece of flashing to divert water in which the inspector for Boone County laughed when he seen! I opted for engineered wood for the longevity and the colors do not match. When they ran the electric to my inside switch they left large holes in wall and just put the switch cover back up like we would notice. The 8x10 concrete pad they installed for us, was probably 8x10 with the forms but we had to add bricks to the back of the pad because it wasn't correct once they removed the wood forms. Anytime we contact Chris Hollan Construction we get empty promises but no action. AVOID them at all costs!!! We have started to seek a new contractor to see how much additional we will have to now pay to get these porches to code. I would understand this more if we had a bunch of friends build this on weekend for beer money! But $58,000 there is no excuse for such crap work and no response from owner. The manager just feeds you a line to make it seem like something will be done. But nothing happens. The over payment was discovered in October when they tried to get a final payment. Very very poor communication. I will gladly show anyone the list of problems from Boone County over this extremely expensive seedy half @$$ job that was done

. I contracted with this company for an approximately…read more$49,000 window and door project. Before purchasing, I specifically discussed my primary concern with the salesperson: through my windows. I even provided a competing quote showing the type of solar-heat-reducing glass I wanted, and we discussed this in detail. I was told American Weathertechs had a comparable product, and the salesperson demonstrated heat performance to me using a heat lamp. . The November 2025 installation had numerous problems, including windows that were difficult or impossible to operate, bowed sashes and installation deficiencies. I objected to signing completion paperwork because the work was not complete, but I was told to sign and not worry because I had a warranty and they would return to correct the problems. Financing was then processed. , . Fourteen sashes ultimately required replacement, yet problems remained. I eventually hired an independent third-party inspector, who documented additional concerns, including thermal observations and window/door deficiencies. The solar-heat issue also remained. Months after the sale, American Weathertechs told me that it does carry the type of Low-E coating/product that I had discussed at the point of sale. On August 5, the company proposed triple-pane inserts, but expected me to pay additional material costs. I asked for written performance specifications before agreeing to spend additional money. Instead, the company subsequently withdrew that proposal, refused further service and refused to return to finish the unresolved installation issues. They characterized the approximately $3,400 disputed balance as "bad debt," wrote it off to $0, and stated that my were void. . I have extensive emails, photographs, temperature documentation and an independent inspection report documenting my experience. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After spending approximately $49,000 and spending roughly nine months trying to get these issues resolved, .

Overall this has been a really fantastic process. We have built and rehabbed many homes, but this…read morewas the 1st time we weren't at the job daily making sure everything was going correctly. We actually stayed away a lot. During this major rehab, not only were we not here daily, but we also allowed assistance from Cyndi, Neal's designer, which was a wonderful experience. As far as Cyndi goes, I showed her what I wanted from all of my saved pictures, ideas of my dream kitchen in my head, and then she would go pick multiple items and I would choose from those. She did this with the flooring, counters, backsplash, cabinetry door styles, etc. Many times my vision might not have been her vision, but she went through it with me, listened and we ended up exactly where we wanted to be. I decided I would do the lighting myself because I enjoy that especially. Not only did Cyndi make this big rehab an easy process, but she made it nice for us and she's a pleasure to work with. I would say all of the guys did a really nice job inside, but we would be remiss if we didn't give a special shout out to Troy, who always seemed to go the extra mile and added many special touches all around. His attention to detail and his work is extraordinary. He truly understands it's the devil in the details and it's the little things that mean a lot. We feel the job would not have run nearly as smoothly if it wasn't for his overall managerial skills, his talent as a carpenter and his determination on delivering a superior product. Obviously we also enjoyed Chuck. He would always answer any questions always tried to be helpful, and was very attentive. Like I said, we liked all of the guys on the job, but we want to mention Ajax, who is very talented at his job, a true craftsman and also goes the extra mile. Although the job was finished a few days late and we do feel that could've been avoided, we are still extremely thrilled with the work that Neal's did and the quality of trades that they hired. They are worth the money. I think the most important question to ask whenever you do anything is, would you use them again? That's certainly a tell all. Absolutely yes, we would use Neal's again.

I spent a good chunk of my life savings on this project and I'm not happy with the quality I'm left with for the price. The company owners seemed eager to take my money rather than doing a quality job. They didn't even want to do a final walk through to see what their crew had left unfinished and unclean.
