Pool table and lots of TV!
Valerie G.

Really cool and CLEAN sports bar that semi feels like a movie theater! A good place to go to watch sports and get a casual drink. Also has 2 pool tables for those who want to play while also watching football! Smells like popcorn :) which they serve as a bar snack. They have high tops and some old stadium chairs! Cute decor and nice bartenders.

Buffalo wings

Absolute comfort food perfection. The burgers were juicy, the hot dogs had the perfect snap, and the buffalo wings were crispy with just the right amount of kick. Outstanding quality and flavor--highly recommended. Outstanding service!

I stopped in on an afternoon. No food yet but they have popcorn. However I was very impressed on the niceness, cleanliness, and how friendly the whole vibe was. I've been there before they closed, and I'm glad it's still going. Great location and it is still a cool place

A great little place to hop through and make some memories! If you are looking to stop in mid-day or any other time for a drink, step in here! Chances are high that you will not only like this place; but, perhaps make a great memory or two! The bar tenders are responsive and friendly, AND even willing to make you your favorite drink - even if it is not traditionally served or made there (simplicity is key). The restrooms here are clean and tidy - there are more than one to use. They have cellphone chargers openly available, and already plugged in for customers to use - plenty of them around. There are a couple pool tables and even a photo booth (able to fit a few faces in) where you can take that -faced photo mid-buzz, or after getting plastered. The only downside... hoping the bartender gets that special request drink down and made the way you like it. Lol! No lost stars for effort! Lastly, this place is in walking distance from a few popular places frequently visited while touring the city.

They were out of a few things we wanted, which I could live with, but the food is what got me. Most of the reviews say the burgers were really good and the buns were good as well. I felt the buns might have been at the point where they were almost going stale. Like they wanted to be fresh, but something was holding them back from being fresh. Maybe if the buns had been warmed a bit, it would have helped. The onion rings weren't bad, a bit crunchy, more so than your average beer battered onion ring, but I suppose I would have to try them again to really say if I like them or not. I know it was early and it was a bar setting, but having to sit, not be given a menu, had to grab from a different table along the wall, go up and order, didn't sit well with me. Maybe it's just how the bar is? Not sure as I've never been. The bartender that took my order was nice and friendly. Decent place to watch a game? Sure, looking for a lunch spot for a quick bite? Probably not.

He treated me disrespectfully and asked me something absolutely absurd. After he continued harassing me, I reacted by giving him a small slap across the face. Instead of taking what had happened seriously or making sure I was okay, Jason and Jesse decided to kick ME out of the bar and ban me, while the man who sexually harassed me was allowed to stay. What made the situation even more disturbing was the way they treated me afterward. They laughed in my face while telling me I needed to leave, and as I was walking out with my girlfriends who witnessed what happened they were laughing and calling me crazy to the group of friends that harassed me I understand that a bar may have policies regarding physical altercations, but the complete lack of concern for the harassment that led up to the situation was appalling. I was the woman who had been sexually harassed, yet I was the one removed and banned while the man who made sexually explicit comments toward me got to remain inside and was seemingly treated like a friend. Based on my experience at night, I absolutely would not consider this a safe or supportive environment for women. Being sexually harassed is already upsetting enough. Being laughed at and punished afterward while the person who harassed you is allowed to stay made the entire experience significantly worse.

So many memories have been made here -- birthdays, celebrations, nights out with friends and family, and plenty of random evenings that turned into some of the best ones. We've also made friendships here that have lasted for years. It's one of those rare neighborhood bars where you can walk in, see familiar faces, bring your dog, grab a drink, and immediately feel at home. I was especially honored to be asked to guest bartend for The Equal Pour, an event celebrating 55 years of women being able to bartend in California. It was such a fun and meaningful day, and San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie even stopped by to celebrate with everyone. And because the Horseshoe always seems to have a good story attached to it, we were also there when the Budweiser Clydesdales came by to deliver beer -- definitely one of those only-in-San-Francisco neighborhood moments. The staff here has always treated us like family, and that's what keeps us coming back year after year. No pretension, no fuss -- just good people, a great neighborhood atmosphere, dogs welcome, and a place that has been part of our lives for well over a decade. The Horseshoe is a true Marina neighborhood gem, and I hope it stays exactly that for many more years.

Fortunately, we were lucky to stumble across Horseshoe Tavern, as it immediately gave across a welcoming and comfortable vibe. Although there was only one bartender working the bar which was packed with a lot of people watching the Kentucky Derby, the service was incredible and the bartender immediately acknowledged us and took our order. We ended up getting two rounds, and again the bartender was super prompt and attentive with service when we went back inside for round two. Overall, this place is a gem, especially being in the Marina. Down to earth and comforting vibe. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice watering hole or a place to play pool.

It has that classic, unpretentious San Francisco neighborhood-bar vibe that's getting harder and harder to find. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good and strong, and there's always an interesting mix of Marina locals, longtime regulars, and people just out having a good night. It's casual, lively, and never trying to be something it isn't. Whether you're stopping in for one drink or somehow ending up there for the rest of the night, Mauna Loa is always a good time. Great theme - Lame crowd…read more Mauna Loa Club on Fillmore Street in San Francisco, CA, offers a thoroughly uneventful, standard dive bar experience that functions as a predictable neighborhood fallback rather than an exciting destination. For those interested in its roots, the establishment has a fascinating, multi-generational history: it was originally opened in 1939 by Hawaiian-Portuguese immigrants Johnny and Marie Martin, who bought it for just $10 under its former name, the Silk Hat Inn. They renamed it Mauna Loa in 1949 and moved it to its current Cow Hollow location on June 1, 1950--by pure coincidence, the exact day its namesake Hawaiian volcano began a historic eruption. While it historically served as a bustling hub for merchant marines and sailors, a modern visit is entirely routine and unpretentious. The cash-only space is dark and worn-down, featuring basic entertainment like a pool table, foosball, and pop-a-shot basketball. Despite the name and sub-tropical accents, there are no specialty tiki drinks or unique flair; you simply get standard well drinks and bottled beer served by friendly bartenders. It is a perfectly average, low-key spot to hide from the weekend chaos of Union Street, but it offers a standard baseline dive experience with little excitement beyond its remarkable historical longevity. Thanks
