UPDATE: While I've always loved the Fillmore, tonight's experience really soured me. After spending $$ to upgrade to VIP, $$ on food and drinks, and $$ on tickets, my friend was told that he couldn't bring in a small tripod. He asked if he could check it, but was told that he couldn't. I asked if I could put it in my bag. I was told no. He was told that he could either take it all the way back to the parking garage blocks away, or he could throw it away. Reluctantly, he threw it away, but he didn't complain. She'd let me (white) walk right past her with no hassle. j/s After he threw away the tripod, she made my friend go back to the end of the line while I waited inside for him with his ticket! WTF?! We paid to upgrade our tickets, had a good time at the show, had good food with an excellent server, Aurora, who can have all the stars on this page. Then we left a bit early and asked if we could retrieve the tripod from the trash can which was still outside. The woman who had made him throw it away comes in from outside to interrupt the conversation in having quietly with another employee to tell us no...he could not look in the trash. I started to accept this, but no! I just spent $200 at your club, and the trash can was on the street where literally anyone could go through it! So, I just stood next to it and gazed in. I didn't touch anything. This woman literally moved that trash can from under my glance and put her body over it. I was...just wow. Wow. He was so nice about the whole thing, but I am NOT. I'm disgusted. There was no reason she couldn't have allowed him to check the tripod, and there's no reason that we (or she, if she was that worked up about us touching the garbage) couldn't have retrieved it afterward. She was welcome to watch as we fished out our property. She's (N. Gonzalez, I think was her name?) just a person with a little power trying to feel like a big deal. But when you're a club trying to sell upgrades and put butts in seats, you could reconsider such a hard line against allowing people to hold or check items, and you really should be consistent. This same friend brought the same tripod to another show 2 weeks ago and it wasn't a problem, so he had no expectation of problems this time. I suspect it had a lot more to do with this employee's personal feelings. But either way, her tag said "guest services," not "crowd management," and definitely not, "tripod collector and garbage police." You have policies and rules. I understand. He respected that. But if he asks to check it or retrieve it, can you take a hint? It's precious to him. Idk why. Maybe he can't replace it right now. But denying him the opportunity to even see if it was in the very shallow trash collection and treating him like he's a jerk for even asking? You were unnecessarily rude. The show was advertised as a 7:30 show. The first band went on at 7:00. WTF? They don't give info on when doors open and when the music starts. Actually, no info on the opening bands at all. Once I showed up without a ticket (show was not sold out) and they almost refused to let me in or sell me a ticket because 'the box office had closed.' What a bunch of BS. read more

The Fillmore is a great local venue for a more intimate concert experience! I had the pleasure of seeing Maverick City Music Concert perform -- no, minister -- here a few weeks ago. And it was a great experience all around! Although the line to get in the door was long (wrapping well around the block), it ended up moving quickly once the doors opened. Security checks (wanding and bag checks) were thorough, though they didn't seem to be enforcing the clear plastic bag rule that's posted on their website. Once inside, it's first-come-first-serve and standing room only down on the floor. So even if you purchase a ticket that purports to have a seat number, there are no seats on the floor. Just get in where you fit in. There are some limited chairs upstairs in the balcony. But during the concerts, people upstairs tend to stand as well. So if you're seated, your view will probably get blocked by people standing in front of you anyway -- thereby forcing you to stand too. The acoustics are great. I could easily hear the music from the back half of the room. The closer I got to the front, the more my ear started ringing though. (Note to self: Don't forget to bring ear plugs at the next concert event you attend!) I didn't buy any drinks from the bars located on each side, so I can't really speak to what they offer or at what price. I did use the restrooms downstairs, which were clean and well-maintained. The concert itself was amazing. Imagine groups of people -- of every race, color, and background -- coming together just to worship Christ on one accord. The energy was INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere was healing. And the Lord showed up like only He can! When the worship experience finally ended later that night, I was able to exit the building quickly and get to my car in a downtown Silver Spring parking garage within minutes to head home. All in all, it was a great night. And I'd definitely be interested in attending more concerts at this location. read more

The Fillmore is a chain of concert venues, and this one should really be called "Fillmore Silver Spring". Denver holds the most, but San Francisco is where it's based at. So, San Fran can "take" the original name without adding the city name technically. The one in Philadelphia is bigger than this one. First time at another Fillmore as I didn't pay attention or notice there were multiple until I decided on this one. I ended up choosing general admission as I felt premier seating was a bit high for me. Looks like I would've been able to get premier last minute at this venue as there was some space. Lucky for me, it wasn't packed, but there were enough people in general to watch and enjoy the show. The artist was nice enough to sign stuff and take pictures last minute, and I barely got my picture and signed stuff and the artist just wanted to get the heck out as it was around 1130 PM at that point. The drinks have gotten too expensive for me, but they are on par with other places. I have leaned less to get drinks because of the price and every time I've gotten one, I've been like this is just so so and I'd rather hold my hunger and thirst and pay for something outside. Food is the typical popcorn or pretzels only options. There's not much room to eat something more extravagant. I hope since they have a VIP lounge and maybe with the premier setting that they would offer more regular food options in these kind of settings. I don't know if they do, but it would make sense if they did. They might not offer at the premier setting portion for fear that people could spill stuff to the general below. . . . Some of the complaints I've read in past reviews, I think people- possibly including me sometimes- lol- don't always have common sense such as what is accepted and not accepted at venues. Sometimes, venues don't do a good job posting on their website and aren't really available to explain over the phone either. It is good for a venue to remind people waiting in a long line what they can or can't bring in and this could help alleviate a lot of issues that could come up. read more

I went to see Teyana Taylor. (Amazing show!) The venue was clean, the staff was pleasant and quick. Everything was very organized for a standing room/ GA type venue. My pet peeve was that they notified us of a required Vaccination card like 24 hours before the show. I understand that the covid rules change frequently but a venue of this magnitude could have announced a change a little sooner. All in all- it was a cool spot for an intimate show! read more

I've seen dozens of shows at this place and it's almost always sold out and full at every one. It can get cramped especially on the floor but it's always a great time. Lines for the merch stand in the lobby can get rough since the space between the front doors and the doors to the main room is so small. The Bartenders are always on point and with how busy it gets, they're super overworked (please tip!). The most recent show I attended had some solid safety protocols in place and even had some rapid covid tests you could take at the venue if necessary. Solid venue for medium sized crowds but definitely be careful, it can get crazy since the floor fills fast. read more

The Fillmore doesn't get the big name acts that the DC venues get, like the 9:30 Club, Black Cat or the Anthem. But, it's a great venue. I was going to give it 4 stars but really had no reason not give them 5. It's easy to get to by Metro, the floor and balcony layouts give you good opportunities to see the stage well, the audience (for the show I went to) didn't crowd me or invade my space, and most of all the people working there were super nice. I saw bouncers in front of the stage giving people water, they resolved some scuffle in seconds, and checked to make sure everyone was ok, and the line moved quickly getting in out of the cold. I stood on the second balcony and had a pretty decent view, the first balcony has VIP seating so looks like it's worth it to last extra if you want to sit. I came here to see NAO perform, and it was a really great venue. The check in process was quick, which I really appreciated in February winter weather. They serve drinks here too. Keep in mind that the general admission tickets mean that you'll be standing in a crowd. I didn't mind this becasue the tickets were so cheap, but I could see how people could be disappointed if they were expecting to sit down. There was seating on the second level, but those tickets were also more expensive. Parking was really easy and close. I parked in a public garage and there's an app you can download to pay for parking, if you don't have any change. read more

ADA guest at the party. I have service animals making it tough to navigate enjoying my favorite parties. My dogs (yes plural) aren't use the the type of sound the speakers put out so it's nearly impossible for them to "do their job". This is more about their exposure to experiences like these and the lack there of. As you can see by my pictures - I was there on two separate occasions just a week apart. The second time might have been a SMIDGE better because it was the TOBE NWIGWE monumintal tour and had a million moments where the music was peaceful and smooth. Joseph took care of me for the byb party - though I didn't make arrangements in advance. I appreciate the time and attention he took to make sure I was accommodated. He even brought my SAs water bowls. The only issue I have is that I paid for skip the line ($12) and this was denied at the front door. I asked for a refund and I'm still waiting to hear back. Now when we returned the following week to hit the TMT - I did make arrangements in advance (shout out to Emily Aud), I was squared away. Didn't see Joseph when we walked in -- but everyone remembered me and my SAs. They were dressed in their mint and hating every moment of the process (sorry-- hey the work ain't easy but it pays the bills). The only issue I have is that this ticket was purchased for me as a birthday gift and VIP + Q&A was included. My experience was no different without the VIP- I was seated in the same space. I asked to be seated in VIP and was told that I could sit at a table near by. But then was told 5 minutes later that the people near me are allergic to dogs (I have hypoallergenic dogs btw). So I was asked to leave the area. That was embarrassing, harrowing and a reason I'm hesitant to return. I did my best to enjoy the show but the stain of that happenstance remains. read more

VIBES! Friend and I went to a concert here the other night and the venue was perfect. I go to plenty of concerts and one of my main issues with most venues is that it gets too damn HOT with everyone jumping around, but the temperature in here was perfect. The security staff also did a great job at getting the 5 block long line in before the start of the concert so shout out to them. I highly recommend this venue if you see someone you like performing here! read more

This place is trash. To be honest, the selling of seats at the venue ( I am not sure if it is standard not to have that option when purchasing tickets but if so... that is tacky as hell and I just think it is an outdated idea meant to nickel and dime folks.) The venue didn't make it easy to find where we could find the 21+ wrist bands and didn't make it clear that you would need one to be able to order a drink at the bar. I get the concept of it but it just wasn't executed very well. I mean let people know before they stand in line for all that time. This place couldn't have open their doors on time. Waiting an hour in a line that is wrapped around a block twice when the show was suppose to start at 8pm and the line was still dumb long at 9:30 just screams unorganized. There was no sign of what we could and could not bring with us into the venue until you are right there getting searched. I am all for safety but let people know... Its just the little things that could improve people's experience at this place, but one thing I can say it is a beautiful venue. read more

Last night, my friends and I attended the Slash concert. They say it was fantastic. I wouldn't know. I had a medical emergency just as the band came on stage. I had not been drinking or taking drugs; I was simply a middle-aged woman who was out trying to relive her glory days of secondary school while ensuring she could awaken as a fully functioning professional adult the next morning. From the hour-ish of music I experienced (opening act mostly), the venue is great. I wouldn't call it intimate nor would I call it impersonally large. It felt just right....up until my medical issue. What impressed me, though, was the staff of the Fillmore. From the moment, my cohort guided me out the main doors into the freezing air, the staff were incredibly attentive. I had thought they'd write me off as being drunk and stupid. But they were extremely respectful, even without the facts initially, helpful and kind. The medic who was there was amazing! I unfortunately didn't get his name (you know, medical issue) but he was calm, caring, checked a multitude of vitals, and provided the information and guidance necessary for me to make next step decisions about my health. I cannot thank the medic and other Fillmore staff enough. They are wonderful people. So if you are thinking about going to a concert, I strongly recommend going to the Fillmore. Hopefully, you won't ever end up on the outside bench surrounded by staff and the prying eyes of passersby. But if you do, you'll be in excellent hands. read more

The Fillmore is a medium-sized venue located in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. I've been there twice now, for a ska punk show and a hip-hop show. Overall, this is a great place to see a concert. They book lots of famous artists, and the sound is fantastic. Ultimately, that's what you want in a venue! I'm taking off a star for a few reasons. 1) The drinks are outrageously priced. $13.75 for a PBR?? You've got to be joking. 2) The bathroom location could be better. It's downstairs, and you can only access it through the left side of the venue. 3) Pillars in the venue obstruct the view depending on where you stand. Check out the Fillmore if you can! read more

The place is never as big as I imagine it :) but there it does offer plenty of personal space with all good views of the standing room stage . The silver spring metro is less than a 5 min walk away. There is a parking garage about 1 block down from here that you can park for free after 7pm and free all day on weekends. Also, the silver spring mall is right across the street for food and drinks beforehand.. There are several cash and card bars. Came to see bone thugs n harmony on jan 3 and they also sold tacos!! Bathrooms are downstairs. The women's bathroom didnt have any toilet paper in the stalls (reason for 4 stars), also half of the stalls were out of order. So we opened up the unavailable stalls to get tissue to use. Sound and bass are good here, so are the lights an visuals. You can pay for premium seats that include seats and a table on the 2nd floor of this venue. Didnt have to show ID to get in, just the tickets after a quick pat down with a metal detector wand. There are always specialty drinks for the concert occasion which cost about $15 which is about twice of what a normal liquor and mixer would cost (so go with ur standard basic drink)! I've been here a few times before and I would come back for more events!! read more

Worst concert venue in the DMV. There was over an hour line outside in the shivering cold. They searched everyone individually so you missed all the opening acts. This was a Lainey Wilson concert. I was shocked at how overcrowded the venue was. After speaking with the manager Matthew Alonso he informed me they weren't at capacity of 2000 but only at 1800. He explained that country concerts attracts overweight individuals hence the feeling of being overcrowded. As a medical provider this venue was NOT safe! He told me to speak with a police officer outside who said I am only responsible for outside the venue. I requested a refund despite being my gfs birthday. He provided me with an email address. He stated I was the only one that complained. He told me to go upstairs to watch the show but wherever I stood security said it was blocking the view of other patrons. I heard numerous people saying "this is awful" and "I am disappointed"at the volume of people packed together. One mother and daughter came rushing out of the crowd with her daughter is tears crying. She literally went to the back right corner wall and cried in terror for over 30 minutes. The venue staff ignored her. As a physician I spoke with the mother and daughter checking on her well being. Her mother said this is her first concert ever and hasn't experienced this before. I was heartbroken for them both. This should be an event she remembers for a lifetime not a moment to remember in sadness and embarrassment. Greed has reached a new level and think twice before going to this venue. This venue is dangerous and needs to be investigated. Until a tragedy occurs they will ignore safety for profits. I sold the tickets to future shows. Not worth the risk. The atmosphere was great. The only issue we had was with security. After getting elbowed in the back, my heels stepped on, and having someone scream strait in my ear for about 30 minutes they asked me to move so they could get closer and I said, "No, you've been elbowing me and screaming in my ear - I'm not moving." Mind you, it's standing room only on the floor. So, we got there early for our standing spots. Her group had just started to creep up when the music started. After my response, she then decided to start crying. Then got an older lady to come yell at me, so I signaled for security to come. Instead of listening to anything I had to say, they listened to her & her tears, and escorted me out leaving them to stay. It was only after I pointed out the 3-4 possible cameras I saw on top of us that they agreed to check the footage. I don't know if they actually did or not but they came back claiming to have reviewed it and let me back in. Said to avoid said females. I was confused on why they were never asked to come out since one of them were the initial issue and the second only exacerbated the situation. I was also just very confused on how security handled the situation in general with never having escorted them out either. I feel like better procedures should be in place so that those who actually are an issue can be made to leave. I missed a good bit of the concert because of them and your security team. I spent the same amount of money as anyone else there on the floor and didn't deserve to have my experience tarnished because of someone else's ridiculous behavior. read more

Anybody who knows me, knows that I'm a huge Brandy fan, so when it was announced she was giving a concert here, I was in there! I've been wanting to see Brandy perform her music live since I was a little boy. The show was a dream come true and I got my everlasting life. She is an excellent performer and very sweet in person. If I were to review the concert expierence itself it would be 5 stars. With that being said I wish I enjoyed the venue as much as the show. The good thing about the Fillmore is that it's a general admission standing venue, which means you can get a position in the front row without paying front row money. The way the venue is you can get a good view of the stage from any position. Really nothing is bad about the structure of the venue; however, the staff here are crazy rude and unorganized. Prior to entering the venue there was a line for security check and then another line for checking tickets. There were about six people lined up at the door and they gave us no instructions as to who goes where. It was a free for all, so I really have no idea why they had us stand in a line in the first place. When I was going up to one of the security check people, another yelled "hey man make your way down here, so you don't hold the line up" and the guy that was in front of me yelled "stay here and take everything out of your pockets". I was so confused I just went over to the first man that yelled to move over to where he was. When I was going through the security check, it was clear he was taking his job too seriously. I was not a fan of his tone. "Um excuse me you're too close step back a little", "your bag is too large you need to hold it by the strap so I can get a better look inside." And several "alright you need to speed it up so I can do my job." When that was over I was thirsty, so I reluctantly bought a $4 bottle of water from the nicest bartender, and as she was handing it to me a security gaurd told the bartended "you need to pour that into a cup." So I was given a $4 red solo cup of Aquafina. Dope. After the show there was a meet and greet and everybody who was a part of it had on yellow wristbands. I swore I showed mine to security like 10 times. The security gaurds were being very nasty to people telling them they had to get out of the venue, even if they had to use the bathroom. One of them even yelled at a lady who was waiting on her friend. "Didn't I tell you to get out, do you have a hearing problem!?" It is not that serious. One security gaurd told me to stand by the basement stairs for the meet and greet and then another told me to stand by the stage. After asking some other people, I discovered thay we did have to wait by the stage. While we were in line they asked to check wristbands another 3 times and one of the security gaurds was yelling for the people in the back of the line to leave because they were taking pictures and weren't VIP. They were VIP though and all she could say was "Oh" not even an "I'm sorry." I understand having to be authoritative in order to ensure processes go smoothly, but if the staff is lacking in comminication and procedure it just becomes a hot mess with irritated patrons. My suggestion for The Fillmore Silver Spring is to either give their staff customer service training or have meetings on procedure before events so they can be more organized. Actually better yet, why not both? If I have a choice in concert venue the next time I want to see an artist I like, I will go elsewhere. read more

Sold too many tickets and you can't move. Tried to get back to my husband and couldn't even get in the door. I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with an event in my life and I am 55 years old. It doesn't help that people are ignorant but I am sure this place is a fire hazard. Waited in line for two hours to get in and now can't even see the band. I will never be back. This really sucks when you can't enjoy yourself after driving 2 hours and waiting in the freezing cold. I have never experienced anything so horrible in all my years of going to concerts. Do not come here for a concert. read more

I am really frustrated with this venues service! I did everything I could to make sure I had the acsesibility accommodations for the show I was attending 3/28. I emailed the venue weeks before and even called them. I got an email saying that disability reserved seating would go in after VIP and no one told me what time VIP went in. Not even the venue. When I got there I missed VIP and early entry bcs no one told me what time to come in the email so I had to sit on a bench in the cold and wind and watch hundreds of able bodied people go in before me. Then when I went inside there was a line to get ada seating wristbands and it was mixed with vip upgrade and bar seating. I was the last person to get a wristband because there was only one person helping the line. I missed two of the opening acts songs. And once I got to my seat, I realized that I couldn't see a thing over that bar. I was so short and the light guy was right next to me. I was struggling to see and I was moving around on the steps in the balcony. And to top it all off I was seated next to the light tech. Also, the staff member in the left side of the balcony wouldn't answer my dad's questions about the venue. The show was pretty great. I had to stand in my tippy toes to see over the bar. I also had to respect a wheelchair users space and the person behind me. The acsessibility features are really shitty. It's because the AdA law is vague but this venue needs more staff and better educated staff. I would reccomends not to put disability seating wristbands with the vip upgrades and bars. Also, the left balcony is a terrible view there's this giant gate in front. I don't know if I want to go back here. read more

The first thing is getting in the door. My small bag was searched, and I was told I couldn't take hairspray in, no ink pen, and no mints. WTF. Nitpick much? My friends got nice people who let them take everything in, including hairspray. Inside, it was so crowded that unless you're over 5'10" you can't see anything. Normally, we go upstairs and stand behind the tables and the other bar. On this night, they wanted you to pay an additional $70 a person to go stand upstairs. One beer, and four small, iceless mixed drinks was $75, not including the tip. Later, we asked for water and could buy the $15-$20 dollar water or go to the cooler on the bar and make a cone cup of water. They have pretty chandeliers, and the venue is big, but not a great venue at all. I would not recommend even if you pay $20 extra to bypass the line. What a ripoff. read more

Fillmore advertises "Ultimate 80's Party Featuring Tiffany." Friday, 1/24/20 8pm. Woohoo! Tiffany is one of my good friend's favorite performers. I confirm availability and purchase 2 general admission tickets on 9/27/19 via Ticketmaster for $15.50 + $7 Ticketmaster fees apiece for $45 total. At 2pm on the day of the show, 1/24/20, a facebook message is posted on the event page notify everyone: "Unfortunately due to doctor's orders, Tiffany can no longer make our show tonight. The rest of the show will go on as scheduled, with The Reflex now playing a special extended set and 94.7 The Drive's Corinna Delgado & Jason Kidd on site with prizes, games and more. And as an added bonus, anyone that attends tonight's show will receive a ticket to Almost Selena at The Fillmore on Friday February 1st." Insert Debbie Downer noise: Whaah whaah Since Tiffany's performance is the only reason we were going to attend this event, after getting the news of her cancellation, the concert is a bust. So I called the Fillmore box office at 5:03pm after I got off work to inquire about getting a refund. The box office attendant asks me if I purchased the tickets online or in person at the Filmore and I told her online directly through Ticketmaster. That's where Ticketmaster/Live Nation steps in. Email from Ticketmaster at 6:38pm on 1/24/20: "Hi live event fan! This just in - Tiffany will not be performing at tonights event. 94.7 The Drive Presents the Ultimate 80's Party The Fillmore Silver Spring presented by Cricket Wireless Friday, January 24th at 8PM Your tickets are still good - see you there! Ticketmaster Fan Support" Pretty clever how they changed the title of the event to no longer include "featuring Tiffany." Yeah, because SHE CANCELLED. Cancellation. No longer going to be there. Because Tiffany from the "Ultimate 80's Party Featuring Tiffany" cancelled, but the entire event wasn't cancelled, Ticketmaster and The Fillmore keeps 100% of their money and fees and offers NOTHING in exchange for tickets not used. No $15 credit/voucher to a future show, nothing. Pocket the money and that's that. If you actually use the ticket and attend the "Ultimate 80's Party Featuring Tiffany" that won't be featuring Tiffany, you get an added bonus ticket to see "Almost Selena," a Selena cover band. Whoopty Friggin' Doo Dah. Great attempt at attempting to look like you care by trying to dump off tickets for a show in a week that obviously didn't sell well. What a friggin' joke. read more

There's something seriously wrong at the bar. After two weak drinks I became so nauseated I had to leave half way through the set of my favorite band that has not toured the US in ages. A friend of mine reported a similar experience with a single mixed drink at the Fillmore last year. Also the security is insane. You do not need pat downs and bag searches at a goth show. read more

Went here the other week for a show. I believe there was 2,000 tickets sold and it was very crowded. The staff wasn't the nicest. They rushed us through to the venue from outside so we didn't get any pictures of the displays that the band had set up. They also were disorganized with the merch line and one of the possible security guys just angrily waved flashlights and yelled at us. The bar staff was nice. We moved upstairs and had a much better time - but we were confused by what areas we were allowed to stand in verse the "vip" areas. Some better organization would have been nice. Overall it was clean. Not a bad venue! read more

This venue stop with Bone Thugs n Harmony and myself @Zobeone -- was amazing. The staff and security for our entrance through the back of the building was top notch processional. As we entered back stage we were greeted by all staff that was there. The dressing rooms were clean also the restrooms. The stage was also clear and swept. Lights and sound was a go. The crowd was enlightened also. If the venue wasnt good the people wouldn't care who was there to see them. The Fillmore is actually a pretty cool venue to watch live performances. I don't do "standing room only" (too old for all that) venues anymore, but the Fillmore does have some VIP seating on the second level. Since the tickets I received were free, the homies and I stopped by to hear Biz Markie spin on the 1's and 2's. We actually had a really nice time at this event. It's a very spacious venue that had plenty of helpful staff visible. I noticed a bar on each level and they are wheelchair accessible. When I go to places like this, I usually stay away from the bathrooms, but I had to make a pit stop and I was rather impressed by the bathroom. Ventilated, numerous amounts of stalls and clean! Nothing like going out and entering into a bathroom where you have to breath through your mouth and watch for puddles on the floor! This bathroom had none of the above. Even the crowd of people were really cool. Granted, I did see a woman with two little girls in the audience (looked to be 10 or 11) and I can't see how that was appropriate for them to be there, but apparently they don't have an age limit as to who can enter. The two cover bands that performed were really good, but after a while, it became a bit too much for our ears. Biz came on for one set and was supposed to come back, but one cover band was on, darn near an hour before Biz was set to come back. Enough was enough, so we ended up leaving. Nonetheless, this is a cool spot to take in some tunes, but if I ever come back to see someone else, I'll make sure to pay a little extra for a seat. It's worth it. Fillmore Flashback 80's vs 90's did not disappoint! My 1st time here in all of my leaving and coming back to the DMV & it was a very cool & fun experience. I've been making mental notes for years for shows I wanted to attend, my effort now will not be in vain anymore LOL. Hence, my free tickets secured my attendance. As much as I'm a Metro Guru, a quick Uber was sufficed on the way down & within 10 minutes we were here. I was surprised to see the many spaces available in addition to the parking garages in close proximity...duly noted. No line for Will Call, & the quick yet thorough security screen was a breeze. Once we got it, it was definitely a positive intent of psychedelic of decor & lights. We gave ourselves a mini tour to get familiarized with the venue before we settled on standing in front of the sound area on the main floor. STANDING seems to be the eponymous of the Fillmore, until some of my inquiries schooled me on the VIP & Premium seating aspects. On the 2nd floor. $10 can get you inside the invisible mini roped off sections, $20 will get you a bistro table seating & $30 will get you the up front tables. The side VIP sections offers seats at $10 a pop...or, you can stand for free behind the seats against the rails. As a newbie, I took my notes for my next visit as I am mad at myself that I have been sleeping on the heart of this SS and community venue for so long. Although no partaking of libations occurred, yet the prices were VERY reasonable...of course another note especially made. As a Biz fan for his DJ'ing & crowd interaction skills, he did his thing. The musical sets were cover bands that were jamming on stage. The range of the genre of songs & the bad boys on the drums, made the performances even better. As far as employee interaction, each person I encountered was very helpful & friendly for the atmosphere of constant & loud. Again, for a compacted venue in downtown SS, you really can't ask for a better time of live concerts & such. I even signed up for the Newsletter & already made my plans to see T.I. & Chrisette Michelle...baby steps, we all are work in progress for good times! read more

The Fillmore is a pretty awesome music venue. Like the 9:30 Club, it is small and intimate so you get a good view wherever you are standing, unless you are standing behind Andre the Giant. The Fillmore has a classy vibe, with their huge red curtains and chandeliers hanging! I have been here plenty of times and have always had a great experience. The sound quality has been great no matter which band was playing. I've never had trouble getting a spot by the front of the stage. Sometimes nice concertgoers would even push me towards the front so I can see better. I was once so close that I could have touched a very sweaty Gavin Rossdale from Bush! It's still pretty new so the place is really clean, especially the bathrooms. There are three levels. Top level provides a balcony view. The lowest level is where the bathrooms are. There is a bar on every level. They sell food, which comes in a cute Chinese take-out container. I've only had the loaded fries, which were not bad. Typical price for this kind of place. If you have the extra dough, you can pay for VIP seating up top on the balcony. The line to get in usually goes by pretty fast. Just have your ticket out and also your ID, if you are planning to drink. No outside food. It is located right in downtown Silver Spring so there are plentiful parking in garages and is also metro accessible. There are a lot of restaurants in the area too if you want to grab a bite before your show. Cops are always patrolling the area so safety should not be a concern. read more

I honestly can't think of any reason not to give this excellent music venue 5 stars. While I don't always agree with who they contract to play there, the venue itself is everything you want it to be. It's small enough so that no matter where you stand, you will have a good view of the stage. Even against the back wall, I can't imagine you are more than maybe 60 feet from the stage. Point being that you can grab a drink at the bar and still have a superb view, or hit the back to get out of the crowd and give yourself some breathing room away from tall sweaty people and not miss a thing. Upstairs is a VIP section in the center which you can pay for tables by the event or year. Flanking the VIP area are observation areas giving you a great overhead view of the crowd and stage. Downstairs is the coat room, bathrooms, and another bar. We hit this one up for food. TVs had football on during the show. I imagine parents and others who are accompanying concertgoers would like this spot. We had some chicken tenders which were above bar standards. Came in what looked like a little Chinese takeout box with some carrot sticks and a tube of ranch dressing. Pretty good overall although a little steep at $11. I'm inclined to say this is the best concert venue in the area. Sure, it's a little clean and the staff don't look like a bunch of hooligans like at the 9:30, but it works for a suburban venue. The neighborhood is also safe being downtown Silver spring and well lit at night. Parking garages are free on the weekend. read more

Venue itself was clean and friendly staff. There's no direct parking and be prepared to stand in line a long time because they search everything. They allowed me a snack because I'm diabetic and cut the line so they were very accommodating and understanding. I appreciated that. I give it a 4 because the ADA section was upstairs and hard to get to. There is an elevator but the seats are bunched together and there was very little room to maneuver. A walker or wheelchair and once filled, the people on on the ropes were directly above me. Had a couple of drink spills on me and my jacket because of it. And the ushers let people stand anywhere in the front section including other rows so people bound by wheelchair or unable to stand couldn't see much of anything. I have to say that she did stop people in the beginning and did keep the people that didn't belong in the area away but this was our view the entire headliner. Had they been in their row or by their seats, the view would have been amazing. We all paid for seats and only they got to see much of anything and seating assignments in this case didn't matter. The guys in the corner of the photo had purchased second row seats and blocked the view in the front on the ledge. Beers are $15 for a large cup. Bathrooms are clean but hard to get to in a walker or wheelchair because they're upstairs of the upstairs. I would go again but wouldn't sit in the same seats or ADA section read more
