Hands down the best venue in the DC area. I come here for metal concerts all the time and it's always a blast. The mosh pits are always insane, the staff take care of you, the security guards are great at catching crowd surfers, and they're really chill about masks. At the ABR/KSE concert there was even a guy giving out shots of water to people who came over the barrier crowd surfing. That was much appreciated. I don't know why any artist would play the 9:30 Club when they could play here instead. . read more

I've been here for a few concerts now and the Fillmore is not bad at all. The bartenders aren't super slow, the bathrooms are clean, and the bouncers try to regulate as best they can. Standing on the main floor for a concert is ok, but when they're sold out, the floor can be a stifling sauna. This last time we opted for upstairs. The views are pretty obstructed, but then we found out about the seating overlooking the stage and main floor, for an extra $15pp, we said yes. From where we sat, I could see the band and their set list (albeit from the extreme right side). I thought it was a good deal and will plan to sit in that area again for any other concerts we attend. We've only had beers there, so I can't vouch for the cocktails and whether they're worth it. Parking is easy, as there is a parking garage a block away. The fall is always the start of music season for me. For this season I started with Crystal Fighters at the Fillmore. It's a new venue I had not been to but parking was at downtown Silver Spring. The venue was like a larger version of 930 Club with nice bars and even VIP seatings upstairs. One thing I didn't like was that the venue also collaborated with commercial business in promoting e-cigarette to the young crowd (frown). The acoustics was good but really loud. Crystal fighters was the opening band but they were awesome. The main band was not my kind of music so we left. read more

The Fillmore is a small indie concert venue located in downtown Silver Spring. This venue usually gets pretty decent mainstream artist from time to time. I have visited twice in the past year to see Common and Erykah Badu. There is nothing fancy about this place. The main floor area is standing room only. There is limited seating available upstairs but be prepared to pay at least $30-$40 more for your ticket. The venue is generally packed with folks and its difficult to navigate through the crowd. Tips: 1. Coat check is available in the basement of the venue. 2. There is a parking lot immediately behind the venue. However, skip paying for parking and opt for Mo County's free parking garages if its after 7pm or on the weekends. 3. Wear comfortable shoes (and a light weight coat if you dont plan to check it). 4. There are two bars on the main floor for your drinking comsumption. Go ahead and plan to purchase drinks. It gets hot as hell in there. You will need bottle water, especially. read more

I like the venue, great sound, good bands, open area with good acoustics. Basic food at relatively high prices and hugely overpriced alcohol (my advice: eat beforehand, or if you must eat there, eat light and try to nurse just a couple of beers and you might get out of there under $50 on top of the ticket price). But all that is kind of expected at a venue like this. The real problem I found was that they REALLY need to work on their men's bathroom. I went to the venue twice last week (Tuesday and the following Sunday) and each time, there was no water to wash one's hands in any of the faucets. Management needs to sort this out and get a plumber in to fix this, as it's kinda gross to go to the bathroom and be totally unable to clean up afterwards. At a high-price venue like this, there's no excuse for taking more than a couple of days to get a plumbing problem fixed. Also, the "R" on their main sign is broken. Apparently I was at "THE FILLMO E". Management really needs to stay on top of this stuff, as it just looks unprofessional. The ticket costs are too high for this level of incompetence. 80's & 90's Party with Biz Markie, the VIPs and Here's to the Night 8:00 p.m. Friday - 3 People 1. Location: I appreciate that this place is quite conspicuous. You cannot miss it as the sign really makes you cognizant of the location. It is surrounded by cute little shops. The area is quite nice and well kept. 2. Activities: I received free tickets via yelp elite and am so grateful I had the opportunity to see Biz Markie in action. He was spinning to 80's & 90's hits of all types of genre. You have reggae, soft rock, hard rock, 80's & 90's rap, and so much more. He rapped a little bit and did a great job hyping the crowd. Of course, he played one of his top hits and told me, "YOUUU, You got what I need, but you said he's just a friend. But you said he's just a friend." He played all of my favorites of 80's and 90's and mixed them so well together. The VIPs - wow! Flawless of a band. They were amazing and had a great synergy as a unit. They played 80's music prior to Biz Markie's appearance and gave the crowd a good flashback. They engaged the crowd and had so much energy on the stage, which transpired down to the crowd as well. The vocals were perfect and clear. I'm quite impressed. I do want to make a note that they played a lot of the biggest 80's hits, but missed "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". Here's to the Night - Another wonderful band synergy and amazing vocals. This band performed after Biz Markie as he takes his break with all of the best 90's. The microphone volume started out sounding smaller than the guitarist's volume, but it eventually was fixed and I fell in love with their voices. Moreover, I really appreciate that they played a wide range of 90's, which included girl's mixes as well and not just boy bands/boy vocals. You have a band full of men singing to Spice Girls and killing the vocals. How amazing can they get?! This band really told me what they want, what they really really want. (Spice Girls) 3. Service: Drinks: Bars everywhere. Have no fear that you will not be able to get a drink. There is a bar below the first floor that is located by the bathroom. Furthermore, there is a nice and classy lounge right next to it with a full service bar as well. The room is very spacious with comfortable seats for concert goers to take a break if needed. There are also two bars in the main room and it elongates almost to half the size of the room, with one on each side. Sound System: Fantastic! Speakers surrounded the venue from the front and back. Surround sounds at its best. You didn't feel like the sound was concentrated heavily on only one side of the speaker(s). Food: We ordered fries and chicken tenders. I was impressed with the food packaging because it's so conveniently placed in a box to be taken to the floor of the concert. The food was delicious as well. They have a full list of food menu, which is a genius idea, because people do want other foods besides nachos and hotdogs. 4. Costs: Free tickets via Yelp Elite. The food was delicious and priced fairly. No price of the drinks from my end as we didn't order any from the bar. 5. Overall experience: When Biz Markie blasted the speakers with "Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight" and I kept waiting for that part in the song where the drums were going crazy and he PLAYED IT, that's when I knew it was going to be a good night. Everything was spectacular. This was a huge party and it was flashback for so many people in the crowd. Amazing concert, venue, sound system, food, and drinks availability. Five stars for the Fillmore. Side Notes: You can upgrade to seats in the balcony. There are three layers for front center seating as the price starts at $20, to $30, and lastly to $40. As every increment increases, the closer you will be to the front of the balcony. $15 upgrade if you want to sit on the side and have a drink or two. You can take your date here as well as each table is dim lit with candles and a nice centerpiece. Also, this location is very well rounded with performers from different genre. Livenation has ruined this place. It used to be a good venue but due to their greed they started selling overpriced "VIP" tickets that took up a lot of the floorspace for a few people. They then force everyone else onto much less space causing dangerous levels of crowding. Every few seconds someone is going to push past you. If a fire broke out, there is going to be a dangerous stampede type event. Good luck getting a drink or going to the restroom. There is no nowhere to sit or chill outside of VIP. Also expensive tickets and expensive drinks to get all of this. Stick to 930 or non-corporate venues that care about their customers over Livenation who just want your money and dont get care about the experience or music. read more

I attended Pottercon here on yesterday and had a blast. I had never been to the Fillmore before but it was definitely better than I expected. It's a little small but nice for intimate concerts. They have three floors (or more but I only went on three) as well as an elevator. The bottom (or basement) as a bar as well as booth style seating and a large tv so you can see the stage. The "first floor" has two long bars on opposite ends. The second level as a VIP premier seating as well as a bar. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. There is plenty of street parking but if you are "parking challenged" like myself - the free parking garages would be your best bet. I parked at a garage on Cameron street which was about a block from the Fillmore. It had free parking for the weekend. read more

I went with a friend to The Filmore to see AWOLNATION. It was a lot of fun. We showed up about 30 mins after the opener went on and immediately headed upstairs to scope the venue. Despite having GA tickets and not showing up between the doors opening and the first act going on, we were able to carve out a great space adjacent to the ADA section (second floor). From there, we alternated taking trips to the upstairs bar to keep beers in our hands. Prices weren't too bad and the selection included a good variety. The venue was well kept and clean. Staff all acted professionally. Our weirdest experience was when one of the bartenders wouldn't allow me to take two drinks at once (my buddy had to head over to the bar separately). I understand, though, their desire to manage alcohol consumption. Looking forward to going back for the next concert that catches my eye. read more

We'd never been here before, but both thought it looked extremely familiar upon entering... why? Because it is EXTREMELY reminiscent of the 9:30 club! It's a standing-room-only venue (for most events), and as expected, was crowded, loud, and a typical music venue (similar to 9:30 and the Black Cat). I will say that the acoustics were extremely impressive in here though - it was as if you were listening to the artist in the recording studio the quality was so good and clear! As others have noted, drinks are extremely expensive here (for example, $8 for a Miller Lite draft and $9 for a Guiness! crazy!). Overall, I'd go back if the right band was playing just because the sound is so incredible, but I'd definitely grab drinks beforehand or after instead of inside. read more

I would definitely come see another show here. Here is my experience: THE VENUE Went here to see Incubus last night. I'm from NY, so I can't compare it to other local places but it reminds me of Irving Plaza. I enjoy these kinds of venues. They're intimate, and personally I love that. If you don't want to wait to get on the rail to get that up close view, I would suggest hanging in the back, over trying to squish in the middle of the crowd by the stage (GA means standing room only). You will be able to see better, move around, get yourself a drink, etc. I thought the sound quality was very good. If you're stuck with a bad spot, I'd say it's probably got more to do with your inexperience with this kind of venue. Skip upstairs unless you really want a seat, the extra cost isn't really necessary and everyone stands anyway. Plenty of well-maintained bathroom stalls. If it's raining and you plan to arrive early, bring a cheap umbrella for the line (I like to just pick up $5 umbrellas and leave them by the trash. Sometimes they're gone, sometimes I get them back, I don't care either way). I did not use their parking lot. ALCOHOL & FOOD This is a concert venue, not a watering hole. It feels like a bar, but it's not per se. They have two large bars on either side, one on the lower level, and another upstairs. I didn't have a problem getting a drink. $9 for a pint of beer, $15 for a 20oz and a well shot, is a little bit pricey but like I said, this is a concert venue. Not a bar per se. Go out for drinks before/after you come and grab one or two to keep your party rolling. In NY we just pay that much everywhere we go for crying out loud. Keep it basic. Don't expect a perfect martini or a mudslide. Think beer, vodka soda, rum and coke, etc. I would only eat here if absolutely necessary (time constraints arriving and I'm starving). I didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the quality, but you're at a show. Your best bet is to get dinner before you come. Always. At any show, anywhere. STAFF I had no issue with staff searching my bag and patting me down. I only ever bring the bare minimum to shows and sport games and such. Don't bring anything you don't want confiscated. There is a list outside and on the website which is pretty standard for all public events. I didn't feel it was excessive like some other reviewers. I thought it was pretty basic stuff when entering an event. You need to have a bracelet on when you're drinking alcohol. Even just holding the cup. They just don't have time to negotiate with you and get to the bottom of your story. One mistake could get their liquor license pulled (believe me I know, I have one). Get a bracelet at the podium when you first come in, right after you can your ticket. Bartenders addressed me fairly quickly and were friendly enough. ACCOMMODATIONS For anyone looking to stay a night nearby, I thought I would mention that I stayed at the Hilton Hampton Inn. It's a 2 minute walk to the Fillmore, if that. The room is clean, and the staff is friendly. Excellent vending options, nice breakfast buffet included. Valet for an additional charge. I would stay here again if I come to another show at the Fillmore. Decent hotel, decent price, and location, location, location. read more

So apparently there is usually a long line around the block to get into this venue... I was not expecting that at all so be forewarned. That line was rough but I am giving the Fillmore 5 stars due to their STAFF. I experienced so much kindness and support from their staff. I have a knee problem that was acting up after waiting in line outside for an hour and the staff accommodated me in disability seating so I could enjoy the concert while being able to take seated breaks. Being from out of town & having a Fillmore here in Charlotte, I was really jealous of this location. I really dig the layout. Having a balcony, with bar service & TV screens was a huge plus for me. I was able to clearly see the acts w/o fear of being cramped or fearful of being drenched by alcohol. However, I did chuckle at the "premium seating for a fee" on the second level. The getting into the venue was a bit unique for me. They scanned my ticket first at the door, checked my purse, then checked my ID inside & placed the "over 21" wristband. The sound was incredible & the place was clean. I can't speak on the bar service or restroom facilities, as I didn't use either one of them. read more

Just got home from a glorious metal concert, and I will definitely be back for another! Mad props to the staff for getting the round-the-block line in through the doors in time for the openers. The searches were efficient and courteous, which is something anyone who's been hauled over by TSA can appreciate. I honestly can't speak for the refreshments, I didn't bother with them [though the beer flung at me during Sabaton's opening number smelled fine? Bloody moshers] but the bathrooms are clean, the coat check is efficient and free, the staff is lovely, the air-flow was good, and the sound is excellent. The size is also such that even in the back you can hear and see clearly, as long as you're not stuck behind someone tall [in which case you elbow them in the kidney and move forward, right?]. Bonus points for the nearby parking garages being free at this hour, makes it much easier to handle. read more

The Fillmore has been a great addition to the music/entertainment scene in Maryland. I've been here numerous times to see acts like Jason Derulo, Dua Lipa, and even the Chippendales (lol). I'm here tonight to see Tyler Farr. When I was younger, most of the shows I went to were at the 9:30 Club, Black Cat, or somewhere else in DC. Having a venue in Montgomery County is really awesome and CONVENIENT. Now that I'm much older, I really don't like to stand in crowds, unless completely necessary. Plus I'm short, so seeing is very difficult -- this girl ain't got time nowadays to wait in line hours before a show... (to be young again....) So when I can, I like to get VIP tickets, which gives you access to seats upstairs. I like the Box seats, so no one is directly in front of you. Plus, there's in-seat food & drink service. Regardless, VIP or not, shows are always great. If you can make it upstairs to get a spot in front of the railing, it's nice too. Parking is convenient, as there are two parking garages about a block from the venue. And it's free parking after 7pm. On the day of a show, the box office stays open until the headliner comes on. So it's easy to buy tickets for a future show and not have to pay the high fees online. read more

Last night my boyfriend and I went to see Hoodie Allen here! The show was sold out and did not disappoint! I know some of the reviews here criticize the security... But honestly the check in wasn't that bad! The staff was quick and efficient, and I would rather get a pat down and know that I'm safe when placed in a crowded room of people in the dark. This place is very small but great for that intimate and unique experience with the artist. The temperature control in the building was awesome, I could feel the air conditioning when I walked in, and when the concert actually started I was never overwhelmingly hot! The venue is in a great location... Lots of places to eat and multiple parking garages close by. I didn't have to wait in a huge traffic jam at all. This was a great experience and I will definitely see another show again! read more

I was so excited to attend the Wendy William show at the Fillmore. It was my first time attending an event at this venue. The event was nice however the Fillmore could have done a better job hosting the event. The bathrooms were nasty and needed to be cleaned and serviced. They did not provide enough seating and did not accommodate people with disabilities. The bartenders were good but the drinks were watered down. The Fillmore definitely was a disappointment and I'm not sure if I will ever attend an event there again!!! read more

This is a pretty cool venue. There is a slight grunge feel, but the lighting is elegant (chandeliers) and adds an upscale feel to the dance floor/concert area. The floor and upstairs balcony seating add nice variation for viewing options. The two bars downstairs are in a convenient location off to the sides. I appreciate this venue has a coat check. There is garage parking a block behind the venue, which is very convenient. The location is perfect! I would have liked to see more staff presence on the floor throughout the event. A woman fell over like a tree in the middle of the floor and was down for a good while with no venue response. Luckily, it did not end up being a serious medical emergency because no one came to help her. I'd recommend the Fillmore for night life. I enjoyed my time and was impressed with the event space. The Fillmore is one of the coolest venue that I've seen a band or artist at in a long time. It's small and intimate, which is great for the music experience but keep that in mind with whatever your crowd may be. Email delivered tickets were quick and easy to get in, there were a bunch if bars as well as an area to get food if youd like. It is general admission with very few seats upstairs (for an additional fee) so you're likely going to be standing and listening. The band we saw wasn't a HUGE favorite but a band we knew some songs of, and thought it'd be a cool 25$ per ticket date. I would say that in the end for the price it was a great experience. If there was a band I REALLY enjoyed, I would probably opt for the seating upstairs, just so that I could focus more on the concert. read more

Really cool space- lots of space, several bars, great acoustics, good shows, and I admit, I'm a sucker for the chandeliers that made it look a little more upscale than your average concert venue. However, the most favorite thing I love about the Fillmore is the fact that (for a price) you can reserve "VIP" seating which gets you a dedicated seat with a great view and a waiter. As a person who is barely 5 feet tall, I very much appreciate the great view knowing that I'm not going to have a million people standing in front of me nor do I need to get to a concert right before the doors open to get a front-row view. Granted, I've only been to the Fillmore twice (to see the same band, ironically) but both times I've upgraded to the VIP seats and think it was 100% worth it. Sure, the food/beer/wine selection isn't the greatest, but I don't expect it to be (and why I visited Ray's the Classics before the show). read more

So let's talk about (Expensive) Brews & (Average) Grooves.... Actually I'll start with the actual venue first. The Fillmore seems like a nice venue for a concert or a live performance from an artist you like. There is a large area in front of the stage with bars bracketing the stage. I never made it downstairs but I checked out upstairs and they have bench style seating with another bar. The service from the bartenders was good and they were also pretty friendly. Brews & Grooves Summary My experience however with Brews & Grooves was disappointing. The short TLDR summary is that beers were expensive and the music was nothing special. If you want to spend about 50-60 bucks for a few beers and food then its the event for you. They were understaffed at all the craft brewery jockey boxes, so you had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes to even get a beer. You had two options, $15 for a wristband which gives you 5 tastings (about a 3oz pour) or $10 for a full pour from any of the craft breweries or you could get a full pour from bar on draft for $9. How do you go to a beer fest and the house is pouring beer cheaper than the breweries....money grab much??? I mean the Redskins cheerleaders were in the house so maybe management thought they should charge Fed Ex Field beer prices...FAIL. The food wasn't much better and came in pretty small servings. The entertainment was far from premium so all in all I have no clue why there was a need for such a mark up. Even though my ticket was free for this event I wouldn't come back again even with another free ticket. Fillmore might be a good music venue, I know a lot of people who have enjoyed shows there but Brews & Grooves is NOT a well run beer fest. There are much better festival options with a bigger selection of beers at much more friendly prices. read more

I came here last Friday (10/30) for the 80's and 90's dance party with Biz Markie. Thanks to my awesome community manager, Mike B, I was lucky enough to win two free tickets to the show and took my bf along. Neither of us had ever been to the Fillmore. There was a minor hiccup at the front door--I don't know if my yelp pass didn't register that I had two tickets because a lady (I assume works for the Fillmore) stopped us and apologized but then said never mind. It seemed as if she was about to deny us entry. I tried to get more info from her but she just said don't worry about it and left--weird. Anyhoo, you upon entering, you can get a 21 and over wristband if you plan on drinking. Also, I think 99% of the crowd had on Halloween costumes (my bf and I were part of the 1% that didn't wear costumes...whomp whomp). The first band up was "Here's to the Night," a Baltimore based cover band that mostly played music from the 90's--anything from Smash Mouth to Snoop Dogg to the Spice Girls. They did a great job getting the crowd amped up. Biz Markie came out next and that's when it got really crowded. The man is an absolute DJ genius. He definitely took us on the trip down memory lane. The next band was New Romance; they played most 80's rock songs like 'Hungry like the Wolf' and 'Don't Stop Believing.' Biz came back out to judge the costume contest to see who will get free tickets at the Fillmore for a year--congrats to Strawberry Shortcake, Macho Man and Peggy Bundy. My bf and I had a blast. The energy was great and everyone was just having a great time. A few tips: wear comfortable shoes if you're going to stay on the main level which is standing room only--it is no fun when the dogs start barking Get there early--we got there early and were pretty close to the stage read more

You might say "Hey Tim, you've never even been to a show at the Fillmore! How can you review it!" Well, because I go to church there every Sunday!!! Maybe other Yelpers go to an occasional show, drink a few, and rave about how they like the multiple bars, the chandeliered ceilings, the line-up, the intimate setting... (I haven't read any other reviews of the Fillmore, so don't take offense if that's what you did)..., I'm just saying I have had the unique experience of watching the Fillmore staff trying to meet the needs of a community meeting there weekly, and they have done a great job! The staff is kind and professional, pleasant to interact with, and not whiny when you ask them to do extra stuff. The audio and light guys do a great job, the building staff have the place ready to go and clean, and our pastor says the management is easy to work with. If you want a venue for a community event, you could do alot worse than the Fillmore! read more

The Fillmore - MoCos Got Talent! - Music Venues Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

The Fillmore is pretty much everything you could want from an event venue. Small, personal and pretty much every "seat" in the house is a great one. I say "seat" because for the most part the Fillmore is standing room only. There are options to upgrade tickets for some seats and VIP areas on the balcony, but for most people, they'll be amongst the crowd. And that's not a bad thing, because for the most party you're going to get a good experience pretty much anywhere you stand. There are four separate bars for your beveraging and alcohol imbibing needs. One in the basement, two on the main floor and one upstairs. Prices are to be expected: expensive, but on the upside the drinks were pretty strong. They also have food options available (though I didn't get a chance to try the noms). The sound equipment, lighting and AV systems were fantastic. New, spiffy and extra shiny. Everything felt "new" and really well kept. Being a smaller venue, it's also well air conditioned and never gets roasting. The best part: security. I know, right. "Best" part? For me, yes. Security was everywhere, but they were pretty relaxed and you never really felt in the way or were overburdening. They were just there to make sure things go right -- the way security should be! I imagine your take on the Fillmore will come down to who's playing and how good they are. A bad band or group can really take away from the event, but as it stands, the Fillmore is fantastic, and if given the chance, I'll be back! read more

I saw Alessia Cara at The Fillmore last year, and I saw Jhene Aiko here earlier this week. I really like this venue. Staff: the staff are awesome. They have always been polite and try to move people through lines as quickly as possible. When I saw Alessia Cara part of the group was late so the box office staff took my information to pull up my tickets, gave me the ones for everyone that was there and the name for the late person and held that ticket. The bar staff are friendly enough, and they generally make good drinks. When I saw Jhene Aiko this week, the staff that worked the meet and greet portion were nice and while they kept everyone moving, they let everyone have their moment with Jhene. Space: Ground level is spacious, general admissions, standing room only. Full bars on either side of the stage. Upstairs there are box seats and the VIP lounge seating. Downstairs is the bathrooms, coat check and Vertigo Lounge (the VIP lounge). The sound system...it works. Well. Standing in the middle of the floor, you can feel the bass in your chest. Had no trouble hearing or seeing at either show. Overall a great place to see a show. Easy to get to, and once you're there, you have a good time. read more

I've been to this concert venue a bunch of times and most recently went last night for R&B Only. Fortunately I had VIP seats, which was a lifesaver because the doors opened late, and we still sat another two hours before it started. My biggest gripe about this venue is there isn't enough seating. And depending on the artist, some shows you just don't want to stand. They need to add seating on the ground level. There's nothing particularly standout about the venue itself, but the sound is pretty decent. read more

They did a horrible job managing the queue for the London Suede and Manic Street Preachers event. The line was wrapped around the block. Further they refused to let me in with a Stop the Violence whistle key. They let lighters and vaping but no safety! read more

Love this venue. Bouncers and bartenders are awesome. Space is conducive to a wide variety of shows and musical genres.

I went to see Bone Thugs I had alot of fun here. The Bartenders were very helpful and the drinks were good too they also have appetizers to fill you up. I like their set up I don't like to be on the floor in the back you can never see anything. They allow you to go upstairs and look down on the performances to get a better view. You can either pay a little something to sit or stand for free I chose FREE plus who sits down I wanna party my money worth and more!! I appreciate the price it wasnt expensive at all I will be visiting again keep up the great job!!! read more

I have been here a few times through the years and have had an okay time. I bought tickets on Feb 26 and my credit card showed that it was charged 4 times. I called the Fillmore and spoke to a lady who looked me up in the system and said it went thru 1 time and the other ones were rejected by the credit card possibly as fraud and shouldnt come off my card. I said cool but i do have 2 tickets that did get purchased correct? She said yes and said that i chose mobile tickets and to download the app to retrieve them. I said thanks and hung up thinking nothing of it. I downloaded the app and no tickets. Never got a confirmation number either. I said that is strange let me just try and buy 2 more a different way to make sure I am not getting my hopes up to see my favorite rappers and i don't. I go to buy more and the tickets are sold out. Now i am panicking because I was told i had 2 tickets and never got confirmation except for on the phone by a Fillmore box office rep. Then box office of course is closed on Sat so i had to wait until 6pm on the day of the show to find out about my tickets. I get up there and guess what? No tickets! At this point i am livid, i show the lady where it shows I purchased a ticket. She said all 4 times were rejected and i had not actually purchased a ticket. So I explained that someone there told me i did so i needed an explanation. Needless to say i did not get to attend the concert and see my favorite rappers. Now i have to travel to another state to see them. Fillmore will never get another cent from me. read more

Considering the location of this venue - right in the heart of Silver Spring - it was very well organized during my visit. I came for D.C. Pottercon, which was a disappointment, but that is more the fault of the people in charge of the event and not necessarily completely the fault of the venue, although I must admit the venue didn't help... The line to get into the event was atrocious. It wrapped around the building. But I found the security staff and ticket checkers to be very efficient as they got everyone inside in a decent amount of time. They prepared everyone to have their IDs out (it was a 21+ event), checked IDs and provided wristbands, checked bags, did pat-downs, and checked tickets all in that order. I appreciated that they accepted e-tickets on my phone as printing was not a possibility for me. They take security very seriously - They confiscated my boyfriend's pocketknife keychain upon entry. We didn't argue. We knew they prohibited anything resembling a weapon, but we didn't consider the tiny keychain. For the most part, the venue was clean. I thought the bathrooms were especially impressive. But the prices for food and drinks were ridiculous. It was $9 for a specialty drink (spiked butterbeer), $7 for a beer, $7 for French fries, and $10 for loaded French fries. They also completely stopped serving food after less than two hours from the start of the event. The coat check was also $5, which made me question the point of my $22 ticket. Service was also nothing special. I know they were busy, but it doesn't hurt to smile every once in a while, you know? All in all, I think the venue has potential. It is a nice multi-floor venue and the perfect size for a more intimate event. But the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I don't know if I will come here again. read more

Wish I could give zero stars! My friends and I were here for girls' night for Sorry Papi. In a line of ONE HUNDRED PLUS people, the security guards singled my friend out for "swaying" in line and said she was too intoxicated to enter. We were threatened to be kicked out as we were all standing in line on our phones. Another security guard pulled us aside and said we were the 20th+ group of people to get pulled aside and denied entry. We were sober. This is absolutely ridiculous as the bouncer said he had "talked to us previously" and deemed us too drunk. We had not spoken to him. We will never return. read more
