We hired this company 3 years ago to build a livestock fence . My father paid 1/2 money up front in form of a personal check in the tune of $ 11,400 and some change . YES over 11,400. My older father trust with a hand shake and a paper bid . We had the same experiences . Teenage kids no guidance, Daniel showing up very sporadic. We tried to call no answer . The kids would work for about 1 hour then take off . A older gentleman showed up 1 day . He looked about 65 years old . This went on for months . Always a excuse . A car wreck , he had to go to the hospital. Always something . This went on for 7 months or more . We hired a lawyer. Found another older victim that was scammed. Spent thousands of dollars. In the end Daniel received MORE money form us . In the end we spent over $35,000.00 on this situation. We asked for receipts that were not provided. Daniel and his kids put in approximately 30 metal T posts and I roll of wire. He scammed alot of money over 15,000. 00 after the out of court settlement. My father as since passed away . We also had a elder abuse case filed but that was dropped since my father passed they wouldn't continue it . Daniel received alot of money for doing much of nothing !!!!! I put up a review 3 years ago at the start of this situation now this is how it ended. Please dont hire company !!!!!! Similar review to the other person that got scammed by this company. Paid before it was done and was left with incomplete work. No answer to my calls or texts. I have weird little pieces of wood at odd places along the fence, the door doesn't close now after heavy rains. The piece of fence he didn't work on had two boards removed to take out his machine, which were never replaced back and I was charged for things I wasn't going to be. Well, I had to tear out the retaining wall this joker built for me. The contractor I had tear it out said for a wall that high the posts should have been at least 2 feet deeper. If you look close, you can see that the concrete is almost all on one side. Very little on the other side. He also said the wall was also missing 2 support posts. Completely Screwed up! I learned my lesson. Do more investigating before you hire someone. Expensive $3000 lesson. read more

I jumped onto Yelp to confirm the phone number I had for 'Doctor Dan' and was shocked to see some bad reviews. My experience was very positive. At a time in which 3 of the 4 'familiar contractors' in the community didn't even bother to return my calls, Dan was prompt in providing me a well-written bid. He did a good job replacing 315' of cedar fence around my home back in 2017. Personally, I found Dan to be very responsive, a great communicator and very conscientious of his work. His pricing was reasonable and he was amenable to the short punch list of items I asked him to address before wrapping up the job in only a couple of weeks. I have referred him to my neighbors and reach out to him on occasion to provide me references on other trade work needed at my home. I'd hire him again. read more

Nothing was fixed. We don't owe them more money as they offered for us not to pay the final payment if we didn't have them back to fix it. We didn't trust this company to come back and do anything. The court did not drop the case, we did because the company asked for a trial by jury (common tactic to complicate small claims) which makes going to court more involved and would have costed us more than the job. My wife and I decided to have our wood fence replaced which covers three sides of our quarter acre lot. The fence is shared by four neighbors. I had three people come out to quote the fence and I had a specific fence design which I shared in a pdf explicitly stating how I wanted it built. I received quotes and ended up going with the Fence Doctor 541 (Daniel). It was not easy to get my neighbors to all agree to split the cost of the fence but I managed to get three of the four to agree. I made the mistake of paying upfront. Then he doesn't show up the day we originally scheduled. From there on out, he would regularly show up for just a few hours or not show up at all. His excuses ranged from the timber yards being out of wood to my soil having too much clay in it to it being too hot outside and many others. He would stack boards all across my lawn and then not show up for days, killing my lawn. Several times my wife and I had to move dozens of boards off our lawn and to organize the mess he made. He then delegated the task to his 16 and 18 year old sons who seemingly had no experience building a fence. Due to covid, I was working from home and it was a constant daily battle to get them to do their job. Most of the time it was his teenage kids on site who didn't have any idea what they were doing and had nobody to direct them. When Daniel did show up on site, he was goofing off and video chatting with a female while carrying boards. My neighbors and I were so annoyed with Daniel that we began pulling posts ourselves on the days he didn't show up. He was supposed to build two lattice sections but he built the fence too high in those areas to accommodate the lattice. He still owes me money for the lattice that he never used. Months and months later I had something that resembled a fence but all of my fence posts are seemingly random heights. The small gate area he put up were random heights and the posts were crooked and the gate hinges were installed incorrectly (the gate could simply be lifted off of the hinges and the gate made very loud noises every time it was opened). Months later he worked to straighten them but it still looks very amateur. He also built three fence sections completely crooked out front of my house which also took months to get fixed. His kids framed one section that was completely different than the quoted fence specs and they had to reframe it. He'd tell me he was all done and I'd send him pics of missing slats and gaps. He also couldn't get his air compressor dialed in correctly and I've got nails popping through the other side. Now, about 9 months later, I still have fence posts of random heights and an amateur looking gate with fence panels of random heights without the finishing trim I was quoted. When I drive around town and see fences that look professional, it just reminds me of this experience. I had planned to have him build an RV gate for me but I went with another fence contractor after seeing the quality and honesty of his work. Hiring Daniel strained my relationship with three of my neighbors and had me apologizing for him. I would strongly recommend to NOT use the Fence Doctor 541. read more

Would not recommend. Paid in full for a quick start date, never happened. Repeated phone calls to ask when work would be started. None of the boards on top were nailed in. One section of the fence fell in because the horizontal boards were never attached to the metal clip, the board was not cut long enough to fit. Many boards had to be renailed as boards came loose. Wrong nails were used causing stains on the boards. Just one young man appeared to work on the fence after the posts were sunk. He ran out of nails and sat outside for four hours waiting. This work was done last year, neighbor is helping to repair on his side. So disappointed that I trusted this company, live and learn. read more
