The scene: you're walking around an affluent Sydney suburb and if you see one more Italian trattoria or wine bar you're going to scream - and not the fun ice cream kind. You see, after a red eye flight and awkward face burn (winter sun!) all I wanted was something nutritious and delicious.
I almost gave up at one point (I'm in Potts Point - ping!) and then I spotted my version of the Golden Arches... A health food cafe! But wait there's more: The Farm Wholefoods is also a bulk pantry store and a tea speciality shop. Hooray!
I zeroed in on a coconut turmeric latte (satisfying and creamy) and paleo banana bread (toasted, moist and reasonably sweet). There's a breakfast menu with Bircher, Smashed Avo Toast and a Farmers Power Breaky vegetarian style. Lunch is (surprisingly) sandwiches and burgers - plus some creative additions like a Winter Nourish Bowl, Zucchini Noodle Salad and my health saviour - Bone Broth. I almost wrote bravo. Bravo is in order, I really like that this place is next to a Woolworths - I hope word gets around.
My only quip is the coffee machine closes at 4pm but you can still get hot drinks like chai lattes. I found the sign confusing, as did three other customers. It would be a good idea to change the sign to not turn people away.
Allergy friendly friends - The Farm is a grand little plot of health food and positive vibes in the city. read more
