Excellent food and service. The staff make you feel like family rather than guests. Barrister was a phenomenal host as well.

We enjoyed an outdoor table on a rainy evening. The ambiance and and service wa wonderful. Everything we ordered was so perfectly seasoned and tasty!!! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great Indian food. 10/10

I've lived in this city my whole life but have never made it to Brick Lane - so what better thing to do for my birthday visit to Brick Lane than dinner at The Famous Curry Bazaar that Eddie Huang with Vice ate at when in London that other celebrities have also raved on about too? This place is a landmark. The food was excellent and the service was divine and the location is fantastic and this establishment only adds to the area's charm and appeal. Arriving early we were kindly shown another location next-door operated by the same family/owners however deciding to wait for this place to open to the public was great as this afforded me and my sister an opportunity to explore the area and in doing so discovered a very cool vintage market that I went shopping at before dinner; I bought what I bought, had it boxed, went off to the Post Office and had it shipped home (I bought a lot of stuff that I didn't want to carry around) before enjoying my birthday dinner at this establishment that day, thank you for this opportunity to see more of Brick Lane before my dinner, thank you.

After walking in the rain for a mile we found the Curry Bazaar and it did not disappoint from the initial seating, to the service at the table, the attentiveness to my sisters gluten allergy and then the FOOD it was all amazing!!! The food was so delicious, top 5 garlic naans I've had in my life. I even ate lamb curry which I refuse to do in states because its gamey. They slowly cook the lamb in the best tasting curry I've had and when paired with the jasmine rice and garlic naan the combo is unstoppable. Highly recommend this spot if your looking for curry when visiting London! They are open late, the food is near perfect, and the staff is friendly.

Excellent Indian cuisine, as I mentioned in my check in you can't have Indian food like this unless you are in India. I love the fact they play traditional Indian music that is such a plus. Major Indian vibe tight tables. Excellent curries and tandoori specials. Spirited servers. A definite return to this place.

Mains: Chicken Pastilla - This was my favorite dish of the meal, as the chicken and other ingredients were enclosed within this crispy exterior - very tasty. Lamb Kofta - This was basically like lamb sausages, which were good but nothing that special, although the sauce did add some nice flavor as well. Sides (or as they call them, salads): Aubergine - Came with 2 slices of aubergine; I liked the white sauce on top which gave it a little extra creamy flavor Cauliflower- Very standard so not much to comment on here Mushrooms - Pretty nice pairing with the lentils as well Butternut Squash - Well cooked with some parmesan shavings on top My main issue here was the value, as each combo of main + 2 sides costs 29.50 GBP, and the portion sizes were rather small (refer to my photo). In fact, they even combined 2 sides into 1 small plate because the portions were so small. The interior is very nice though, as it is an elegant yet minimalistic type of design. It wasn't too busy for lunch even on a weekend. The staff are fairly friendly and attentive. The service speed is pretty quick. Overall, the pros of Ottolenghi are that the food is pretty good and the environment is nice. However, the cons are that the portion sizes are small (so value might not be great) and the lunch menu is fairly limited. Therefore, all things considered, I am giving Ottolenghi 4 stars.

Bold, Curated, and Phenomenal: A Spitalfields Gem From the…read moresecond you spot the proud row of Michelin Bib Gourmand plaques anchoring the dark, unassuming exterior on White's Row, you know you're in for an exceptional culinary archive of regional Indian flavors. Gunpowder Spitalfields completely redefines modern Indian home cooking, packed into an intimate, buzzing, and beautifully moody space with rustic exposed brick and warm, low-hanging pendant lights. The menu encourages a communal, tapas-style journey (recommending 3-4 small plates per person), and every single dish delivered a masterclass in texture and spice balance. The Culinary Highlights Spicy Venison & Vermicelli Doughnut: A total showstopper and an absolute must-order to begin. It arrives looking like a golden, textured tennis ball, encased in an incredibly crisp shell of crunchy vermicelli noodles that shatters beautifully upon the first bite, revealing a rich, perfectly spiced venison filling accompanied by a vibrant dipping sauce. Sigree Grilled Mustard Broccoli (Mustard Malai Broccoli): Who knew broccoli could steal the show? This massive, beautifully charred crown is absolutely smothered in a deep, vibrant mustard-spiced marinade and finished with bright, ruby-red pomegranate seeds. It has a beautiful kick and a smoky depth that pairs beautifully with a knife slicing right through it. Deconstructed Pani Puri: An incredibly playful and theatrical presentation. Instead of the traditional hollow shell, it features a perfect, crisp sphere perched elegantly over a glass of deeply spiced, tangy mint and tamarind water. Porzhi Okra Fries: Feather-light, shatteringly crisp, and dangerously addictive. The perfect snack alongside a cocktail. The Sweet Finish & Libations While the savory dishes are packed with punchy, unforgettable heat, the true star of the entire evening hides in the dessert section: The Grand Finale: The Old Monk Rum Bread & Butter Pudding is a masterpiece. It arrives swimming in a rich, warm, velvety pool of cream, topped with a perfect scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The deep, dark vanilla and sugarcane notes of the legendary Indian Old Monk rum infuse every single bite of the pudding, making it an absolute dream for anyone who loves a decadent, boozy rum cake profile. It is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite part of the meal. To wash it all down, the bar program is just as curated--the Smoked Old Fashioned (garnished with a beautiful orange wheel and star anise over crystal-clear ice) and a neat pour of Old Monk Rum are the perfect smoky, sweet bookends to a spectacular dinner. The Verdict The space is tightly packed, loud, and intimate, but that only adds to the electric energy of the room. The service is incredibly brisk and attentive. For anyone looking for an archive of authentic heritage flavors reimagined with incredible modern flair, Gunpowder is a spectacular, five-star destination in London.

I haven't been at a market though for ages and haven't have any arancini for longer - so I was happily excited to see the Arancini Brothers logo when I was killing some time looking around the shops at Liverpool Street station. I immediately went up the stairs into Broadgate and was rewarded with a tiny little shop with a limited menu - stew box, salad box, or wrap. I do think they did more but I was blinded by the arancini... I really only wanted a box of 4 arancini with their lovely garlic mayo but thought I'd counteract the starch with some salad and went for the salad box. £4.50 I believe, for 4 arancini and some basic - but tasty - salad. As I went late in the day and they were going to close soon, the girl behind the counter gave me a couple extra arancini. They were as good as ever, but as it was late they were a little on the hard side. However, they were still delicious and I didn't leave a scrap of the arancini. The salad was fine - a lettuce mix, topped with shredded carrot with chickpeas, and then some jalapenos and crispy onions. I'm definitely going to be going back soon during lunch time to get some arancini done up nice and fresh, and hopefully will be able to update this to the 5 star review I know they deserve when they're on point.

The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!

In a recent visit to the Spitafields market location the experience wasn't quite the same as previous visits. The falafel didn't seem fresh and the quality of the salads was not great. Here's what you should do, when you come here: 1) Decide if you're super-hungry (2a) or just hungry (2b). (Don't come here if you're just peckish) 2a) Right, you're super-hungry. In that case I suggest you go for the falafel salad in a box. For extra protein and deliciousness, I'd add an egg for an extra 60p. (And if you really want to go crazy, add that dollop of tasty guacamole as well!) 2b) You're hungry? Go for the classic falafel sandwich in pita bread - make sure to get the wholemeal pita, as your health will thank you for it! (You can certainly also add all the extras as described above, but let me tell you that eating this will be a messy undertaking!) Now, last but not least, please make sure that especially if you're going for option 2b, you take plenty of napkins with you - as you will need them!
